We stayed up because Marlon Pack scored in the 88th minute and Sheffield Wednesday had a 6 point deduction. 
Between February and the end of the season we won one game. I would imagine on any other season with that form we would have been relegated. It's an absolute miracle we didn't go down.
It wasn't just losing games, that was bad enough. It was the way we lost games. There was no plan, no structure, no idea. It was absolutely hopeless from the coaching staff down. 
He made bizarre decisions. Constantly playing Forsyth over Buchanan despite Forsyth being utterly woeful. Roos getting in goal over Marshall (I know Marshall isn't a world beater by any stretch, but he's twice the keeper Roos will ever be) Making a ridiculous amount of changes at Cardiff which resulted in us being absolutely battered, only to lose the following game, Never really picking a settled back 4, constantly coming out after games saying we must do better only for the next game to come round and us be just as bad if not worse. Never giving Sibley a chance. The lack of creativity in midfield was borderline embarrassing and Sibley never got a look in. 
I mean the bloke picked three holding midfielders in for England v Germany which resulted in him getting absolute pelters on twitter by most of the country who were in utter disbelief.
I don't trust his judgement at all. I agree with some other people on here that people won't come because it's Rooney having seen what he did last season.
I will be the first person to happily admit being wrong if he does well (I think he needs someone a lot more experienced on the coaching staff to help) but I honestly cannot see it.
The best players don't always make the best managers. 
I remember reading an article where Danny Mills (I think it was him) was talking about playing at City under Stuart Pearce. Obviously Pearce was an England legend, had a very good career (not Rooney's level admittedly) and Mills was really excited to work with him. But within 2 weeks he and a lot of the other players realised that Pearce didn't have a clue. Doesn't take long for players to figure it out.
I personally hope that once a takeover happens, it's a clean slate for everyone and that for me would be a new manager and new coaching staff.

Why can’t I? Bought the club without using his own money, put future debt on the club, as a guarantor though. Helped spaff all the parachute money in advance. Made promises of “taking the Premier League by a force” (sic), and “we are not there to make up the numbers”, before funding the likes of Eddie Lewis and Andy Griffin. Stood outside Pride Park to announce signing of Myka Varynen, again, didn’t happen. As soon as he could offload the club, with all its future money tied up, he was off. 
 
I will keep my comments on his involvement with Lionel Pickering ending up broke to myself.

Another opportunistic chancer can do one. He had his chance to put money into a PREMIER League Derby County, but decided to cash in instead! 

Radio Derby slipped up yesterday by referencing this. Very quickly moved onto a another subject.

Hit the jackpot a couple of times,but management of people and football found him out.

I think part of the issue might be that "successful businessmen " could really just mean an inveterate equity gambler, one of whose bets massively paid off.

I've skim read some of the comments on here about Morris being let down by his senior management team but that's down to poor judgement on his behalf and the accountability stops with him again.
All of the waffling about fiduciary mismanagement just seems like sour grapes and a smokescreen to deflect attention from the root cause and the fact that he lost the unfair dismissal claim just serves to further embarrass and humiliate the guy. 
And all of the plaudits of the club being owned by a local fan please, I'd rather have a Forest fan as the next owner if that was the outcome we've realised over the course of his ownership.

Take away the plastic fans and the Mancs are a knowledgeable lot. Derby used to be the same until they were brainwashed.The club's on the brink and arguably in a worse position than 83-84 and we just let it continue because Melvyn is one of our own. 
It's a shambles. Wake up !!

I profess not to understand this cult of Mel Morris like is some kind of dictator you dare not criticise in public.
Am just waiting for Year Zero so all of the history books are rewritten during his ownership to reflect that actually he did a marvelous job at the club.

It's a shame Morris didn't have a portion of this wonderful foresight too ?
Then maybe be wouldn't be staring down the barrel of relegation to League 1. Hey ho.
