Cheers me up that we're all so mentally exhausted by the play-offs that none of us can be bothered to even start an argument about politics ?
    Peace

If anyone wants a free crate of 8 beers from beer52.com I have a code
    RGEHZK
    or https://www.beer52.com/?freeCaseCode=RGEHZK
You have to sign up but you can cancel before you have to pay for the next monthly crate, so it's essentially free beer

obviously, suicide and men's mental health is getting a lot of airtime at the moment. There's a storyline in one of the soaps, and in local news, a Derby County employee has set up a group to help men talk about depression etc.
It's probably still too taboo for many, and I imagine lots of people feel uncomfortable showing (perceived) weakness.
From my own experience, the first step is self awareness. I am convinced that until something clicked in my head, I would've been adamant I was okay and not suffering from any kind of low mood or depression or mental health issues. Then all of a sudden, I was aware that I was not okay.
One of the best things I ever did was create this thread. I play it down now, but at the time, I was utterly scrambled in the brain. Some of the responses, even the most obviously simplistic, pieced my brain back together. The best bit of advice being to add exercise to your routine.
I also am not aware of the part alcohol has to play in mental health, or at least in mine. I now no longer drink for drinking sake, there has to be an event (birthday, wedding etc) otherwise I won't have a reason to drink and I have be celebrating something to be drinking now, this has helped me immeasurably.
I hope the rest of the dcfcfans community is in good spirits and are coping well with life's challenges. If you need to vent or talk or just get a perspective, please, just blurt it out, there's nothing to lose, as one thing is for certain here, nobody will judge you badly, you will only feel compassion and support from other posters.
It's okay to not be okay X

When something Derby related comes up in an unexpected place. I.E today on pointless.
Unbelievably the contestants didn't know that the 1886 FA Cup final replay was held at the Racecourse Ground.

This year was the first year I've never received a Valentine;s Day card.
Every year since I can remember I've had a card from a secret admirer, but not this year
I feel awful - first my Nan dies and then this...

The phrases people use in football
“the play offs are a lottery”-no they are not, it’s just a crap excuse people roll out when their team don’t win, you never hear anyone saying that the FA Cup is a lottery when it gets to the semi finals do you..?
whilst we are on the subject-penalties are also not a lottery-they are the fairest way to get a result in a game and you can improve your chances by practicing them
“form goes out of the window in derby games” - while there might be the odd occasion where there is an upset (like there is in all other games throughout the season) generally the better team wins a derby game...ask an Everton fan when was the last time that “form went out the window”
Goals being scored in the “97th minute” no they were not, they were scored in the allotted 90 minutes on the referees watch that has been paused throughout the game for various stoppages in the play

Interesting post this...clearly there is a financial aspect to this. But I'd also add that group therapy has a different dynamic. You would hear people with similar problems and know you're not alone (like AA) rather than potentially be 'done to' by a professional.
Not sure about the stats, but it's possible people with no real passion to change (ie ordered by a court, social care etc) are put in cheaper group therapy so that skews the figures?
Anyone on here is sharing their feelings so why not do it in a group....that said I really wouldn't open up in public.
It's the people you never suspect like Gary Speed who are probably the hardest to help...bottling it up cos they can't admit they are struggling. ANY outlet including this forum is good!!
