I think this sums it up
I suspect none of us have ever run a multi-million bound business, and especially not a football club where the stakes are so high, but fundamentally, whatever business you are in, you have to have a business plan, and it's totally reasonable for that business plan to be based on projected income over the next x years
The pandemic suddenly choked off the income stream for all clubs - and none of them could have foreseen it, hence the EFL offering the contingency loans to help clubs through it
The problem seems to be that Derby was a special case, as the owner was midway through trying to engineer a sale of the club, via various strategies (sale of stadium, MSD loans etc) - then with the EFL charges on top - covid threw the business plan out the window, and somehow we found ourselves unable to access the same contingency as everyone else. 
In the end we may just have to chalk that one up as bad luck
 
 
 

This.  I've had flu twice in my lifetime, the last time probably 20 years ago now.  Both times I was laid up for nearly 2 weeks, with the first week being bed-ridden, horrible fevers, vomiting if I tried to eat, absolutely zero energy.  I get really peed off if someone alludes to having the flu but "I'll probably be in tomorrow...".  You've got a cold to dozy berk.  I now have the flu jab annually as, being over 50 and knowing how ill I've been with flu, I know how serious it can be.  And for this reason too, I had zero hesitation getting the jabs for COVID 19.

You're on a Derby forum in 2021 claiming there are no bad accountants. 

There is also the thrill factor of not knowing if you're going to get paid at the end of your shift!

Further to 'that' BBC article posted a few days ago I stumbled across this video that clears up the bias in it far better than I could have ever hoped to do. 
The second part of the video goes on to talk about Ivermectin, related studies and Merck's bizarre refusal to conduct high quality clinical trials with the Nobel Prize winning discoverer of Ivermectin to assess any benefits in relation to covid.

I presume you have a chemical addiction to not getting vaccinated then. 

All these studies say that ivermectin should not be used for treatment of covid-19 outside of a clinical trial. 
The BBC article is about people who are using ivermectin bought through unorthodox means, such as vetinarians, to do exactly what the studies tell us not to do. 
I don't think anyone is saying that trials of this drug aren't welcomed, they're pointing out the lunacy of self medicating using a horse dewormer against medical advice. 
There is a correlation between people who do not trust the vaccine and people willing to trust untrialled untested medicines. 

Because the article is about the use of Ivermectin in treating covid - where it is relevant to "link flawed studies with anti-vaxxers, livestock Ivermectin and anecdotal evidence..."
Of what relevance is it to know you can use it for head lice treatment?! Deliberate fogging of a narrative? 

Looks like Pauline Latham MP has actually written a letter to the Culture Secretary and requested a meeting with the EFL

 
 

With respect Max - in this instance, you have brought this on yourself by taking issue with a BBC news article based on it not saying what you think it should say, claiming that this is somehow a politicising of the issue. When challenged you've repeatedly been unable to explain what is political about the article. To me, and it seems everyone else it's just a reportage article about how false information on this drug has resulted in *some* people taking it recklessly. I see no mention of politics - only you repeatedly bringing it up, and refusing to let it drop

There are still ongoing studies though - which have yet to offer any conclusions, so in the meantime - if you don't mention that, then somehow you're as good as injecting horse de-wormer into a mentally ill person's eyeballs...apparently ?

Tbh in my view the government has dropped the ball on the final stretch of vaccination. They were too slow to vaccinate the under 30s and then too slow to decide to only partially vaccinate the kids. 
Schools are a huge driver case spread but seems to be only the risk to the kids that seems to be considered rather than wider community. 
People should be under no illusion that covid is an ongoing problem - 40k additional deaths per year is not a good outcome. 

So are you saying close schools ? Because only a fool would deny that this virus is like the flu and common cold in terms people catching it , there really is no way that people aren’t going to catch it ( test positive for it ) and not only once but multiple times whether jabbed or not , please don’t give me the masks thing either , they are silly bits of paper that do next to nothing 

Macclesfield, Bury, Wigan, Were teams that were seriously taken advantage of by unscrupulous businessmen, 2 are no longer members of the EFL the other after almost a miraculous escape suffered relegation after a 12 point deduction...and are now doing well, Their fans had nothing to do with their outcome, The EFL who are the regulatory body and gate keepers failed miserably in their duty to protect them from people who only wanted to make money for themselves.
Bolton almost went the same way, Anderson who was the owner/major shareholder wouldn't budge with his demands, The EFL caved in and Anderson walked away with what he wanted.
The ELF signed off our accounts only for some one to complain Maguire/Gibson to force the EFL to take another look at DCFC, Eventually the outcome we all know.
MM set the ball in motion to get a better deal from Sky who had got the deal they wanted from the EFL, MM is on record with his comments that he and the EFL are at loggerheads with each other after he tried to get other Chairman involved in negotiating a better deal...The EFL have never forgiven him.
What's the comman denominator in all this...the Fans!!, No one cares about football supporters.

Alternative treatments that haven't undergone the same rigorous testing you expect from vaccines?

The problem with natural immunity is already over 100,000 British people tried to get it but died.
