Bill Curry reacted to GB SPORTS in Jack Parry
Legend gone, I hope the club do something to mark his passing.
He still holds the record which will now probably never be surpassed:
Most league starts (although Zac has more league appearances by virtue of his substitute appearances.)
RIP Jack my condolences to his family

Jack was in the army with my Dad. They play in the regiment team (Sherwood Foresters) and when Derby had a goalkeeping crisis, Jack remembered my Dad and got him a few games for the A Team (third team of the day I think). Dad always spoke highly of him.

As long as you're better than the Chinese lad playing Christmas Carols on a Chinese trumpet in Leicester.
The busker I heard in Exeter was totally amazing.
On topic, hard league with lots of grafters. We'll do well to make top 6. Mind you, Buxton gave  Morecambe a hard game in the Cup.

    Hey;
    Another post..... ?
Villa fan here, just wanted to come and say 1) good luck with getting back to the Champ, and 2) Chester....
Chester was a huge asset for us in the Champ, a real leader and loved by the squad, Grealish specifically said he was the single biggest leader in the dressing room during our Championship years.
He is a great player for L1 level for sure, in terms of his injury record, Steve Bruce destroyed his knee by playing him week in, week out with a serious injury after we failed to sign any centre backs and bought 50 right backs instead, terrible really, but Chester soldiered on like a warrior for the team.
looks like he played 21 times for Stoke last season, so fingers crossed he will stay fit for you, if he does, great signing (probably the reason for the 1 year deal).
    Good luck.

It's over! After 285 days in administration, the Rams finally enter a new era as David Clowes' successful takeover is confirmed. A jubilant SBW panel of Chris Parsons, Tom Martin, Jamie Page (@DerbyRetweets) and the Derby Telegraph's Leigh Curtis celebrate the long-awaited news and discuss the club's future under their 'reluctant saviour' new owner.
Is the job of permanent manager now Liam Rosenior's to lose? And what's the general mood ahead of the League One season, now our long term future has been secured?
The Rams' new chapter will begin with a new manager - how will Wayne Rooney's stint in charge be remembered? There's also analysis on the rumoured incomings, including Connor Hourihane and James Chester... and the SBW panel have a few choice words for a certain Mr Kirchner.

No. Every club has its d******** (we've more than most!) but the vast majority of fans are just like us, no choice but to follow their team through thick and thin.
I might laugh at certain clubs losing but I would never wish any club to go out of business.

When this goes through we should feel ourselves very very lucky, this has been building in football for years, and as everyone has been telling us, a big club has to go under before anything changes.
Thanks to Mr. Clowes it won’t be us, but there are probably 10 - 15 clubs who are in far more debt than their club is worth. The next one could be the one to go pop.

Regarding Rooney’s leaving, I remember when Brian Clough left. I was distraught. Thought we would be relegated, never win anything again. How wrong was I? So Rooney’s gone. Tough. But we’ll have a new manager. Who knows he might be better.

There is plenty of things the EFL need to address, but it's not always simple. The one thing that the EFL really must balance is the ability for teams to be competitive which gets harder and harder every single year. The problem with parachute payments is that it's essentially a Premier League clause, not Football League, so you can forget about getting rid of that because you need the owners of Premier League clubs to vote on it.
The EFL needs investment. Honestly, I don't understand why they try so hard to restrict spending because the 90% of the spending is EFL club to EFL club.
Let's take Jack Marriott for example - we paid somewhere in the region of £2-4m for his services which in hindsight we shouldn't have done. However, Peterborough were able to use that money to sign Ivan Toney. Without us signing Marriott, they don't sign Toney and they don't flip him for 10-20x the profit.
You restrict teams with money to not spend money, the knock on effect is that you reduce the market value of football players because there isn't enough clubs spending money and the lower league teams essentially don't have a market to ship their best players. It seems they only look at the buying club spending the money, rather than the selling club receiving the money.

@BucksRam. This morning I knew nothing at all about David Clowes. Gradually details about him have been posted and each one, like the one you posted above,  has ticked another box for me.
I was very sad when the Kirchner bid fell through, but sometimes things happen for a reason. In 1990 I was gutted not to get a job in school A. But instead I got my dream job in school B - and met my future husband - the love of my life and soulmate.
I hope so much for the sake of us all that we have turned the corner and I agree that hopefully he'll surround himself with football savvy people.
So far to go still. So many unknowns. But I feel more optimistic about our future than I have done for a while. ?
