When did you seen the plan? Can you share it with us?
Let’s not start jumping to conclusions again about what Clowes is or isn’t willing to do. The club has a budget to work to, and a business plan agreed with the EFL, provided we’re working towards that the fans have to accept the decisions the leadership of the club take for now, whether we like it or not.

It's my favourite thing about being a derby fan. We can spank a team a division above us, with an 82 year old Nugent on the pitch, and our fans will still moan.

I personally would take Waggy back, versatile & puts a shift in. Would get 10+ goals at this level. I would prefer him as 4th choice striker than Brown.
Not sure why so many want Brown as 4th choice. He is 17 and done ok in 3 preseason games, he is nowhere near ready for mens football & only involved in preseason due to lack of numbers, especially upfront. He needs a good year or 2 in the u21s first.

Well if we spend the next season looking second best but winning 3-0 regardless I'll take it.

More than odd. A little bit sad in my opinion. I can't understand how anyone can hate a player so much that it wouldn't make a difference even if he scores a shedload of goals. Did he offend you in a previous life or something? 😀

Matt Hamshaw talks about the 5 or 6 players due back from injury who will strengthen the side when they’re back. He then says Warne wants to add “2 or 3…probably more in”, HOPEFULLY before the season starts but if it has to be later in the window then so be it. He also mentions they wanted us to have all the loan spaces available by this point.
I know you’re keen to see more signings, we all are, you need to accept that they will happen at the point they happen. Clearly it’s not an exact science and so long as the intent and effort to add players is there (which it clearly is) all we can do is wait. The staff know what we do, there’s a need to add more up front, and they’re looking to do so. Try and find a way not to worry so much. 

I can understand the frustrations of peoples opinions on re signing CM, however he is the best striker we have had at the club in the last 20 years, maybe even 30. He deserves a bit of respect. 

People panicking about signings should listen to Hamshaws interview with bbc radio derby, talked about waiting to get in 2/3 players before opening day, he talked about how they also can then have a look at loan market then. Loans usually happen in the last 2/3 weeks in the window when prem clubs know who they want to keep and loan out. Still plenty of time left to sign players and we’ve had a great window so far.

And yet despite all the good news I would be prepared to bet quite a lot that our expenditure still exceeded our income and that our owner has needed to find ways of bridging the financial gap over the last year and probably next too  
 It’s not us who has to dig our hands into our pockets any more than we do,  it’s him. Even free transfers cost money. He’s being careful and thank the lord for that.

Agreed, most of the spend was also down to the constant change in management who then wanted to bring in their type of players. So you can add to those who want Warne out before he has built his own team, who need theirs heads checking. Stability and a sensible leadership is the way forward.

Spending huge chunks is what got us into this league - and now people are moaning we aren't spending all the budget? I despair.
Our budget is bigger, looking at the back-line signings alone I would be very surprised if Elder, Ward, Nelson and Bradley aren't being paid more than Chester, Roberts, Davies, and Stearman.
There needs to be a mental reset when it comes to transfer fees. Look across the board in League 1, hardly anyone is spending any money, let alone anything above £1m. The Covid effect is still in full swing.

I wasn't criticising the thread, just the over the top comments by some fans. The results in these games are irrelevant but some fans see this as an extension of the season.
The clubs are partly to blame for turning these games into income streams without pointing out the relevance of them for those that can't work it out for themselves.
On the specifics of today's game, James Collins is getting loads of stick and yet I guarantee that his confidence will be high, having scored 2 goals in three games.

Oh come on ! They are ready and primed to jump at the first sniff. Vile as in fixed, ugly mindset.

No issue with justified comments - but when it’s just vitriol with no substance then it becomes a bit boring.
