The word “multitude” doesn’t even inspire much confidence that tomorrow might finally be the day. Then we’re into the weekend so we can forget that.

It absolutely wasn't just financial gymnastics - it was a proper valuation done by a professional firm of property valuers.  If you want to see the maths of how the value was worked out, it's in the written reasons from the EFL Stadium hearing.
Like I said, 'value' can mean different things to different people.  In the context of a professional football club, the value of a stadium is in it's ability to host matches for the club.  So for things like insurance purposes, you need your stadium valued at what it would cost you to have a stadium to play in.  If Pride Park is valued at £20m, an insurance company is going to want to insure it for that. But if it was to burn down or whatever, £20m is no use when it's costing north of £70m nowadays to build a decent stadium.
But in the context of lending money to a financially struggling company, the 'value' of a stadium is what could be salvaged from it if the club was unable to repay the loan.  That's why MSD demanded additional guarantees to loan us ~£20m.  If we were to have gone bust, they didn't feel they could retrieve the full £20m from the stadium without a club to play there.

I'll reserve my scepticism for the retail baron that never put in an acceptable offer, thanks, and offer my optimism to the fella who's put his money where his mouth is and saved the club.

I’d like us to gamble on one or two non league players who are on their way up.
There must be plenty out there and I’d rather have a young guy who’s full of confidence having scored a hatful of goals than a journeyman on the way down who might spend a lot of time on the treatment table.

I can’t help but feel WR has been a bit petulant in jacking because his agents mate wasn’t going to get the club. It never fully sat right with me that the managers agent was going to be on the board, it was a clear conflict, in the long run Wel be better with a clean slate. I’d be tempted to change the whole coaching team if I was DC.

The Curtis Davies stance is interesting. During the season I always thought he was respectful to Wayne but more bought into Rosenior. That isn’t me rewriting history and is definitely something I always picked up on. I get the wipe the slate clean mentality but I think there is some continuity value of using these two as a driving force of what was and what could be

That was my thought too. Rooney has probably known he was going since the CK deal collapsed (total speculation but has a logic to it lol)

    ....give it to Rosenior please.

Whoever the owner is, the thing I'm bothered about most is the recruitment team. This department needs to be sorted out. Our recruitment of academy players is very good but senior players it has generally been poor over the last few years. I want to see a football director come in with a better approach. You live a die by your recruitment. If we are to have any success in the following years then this has to be a priority.

Thanks for posting @RoyMac5.  What’s striking about this is that Appleby and Co totally rebuilt us with careful management over 6 years.  After throwing everything at trying to stay in the PL they became more prudent, trimmed the wage bill and looked for bargains in the transfer market.  Then, bringing in Mac who let the shackles off we got to Wembley in 2014.  In the same period from 2015 MM blew a load of cash when it needed evolution not revolution and we ended up in administration.
Personally, I’d take 6 years of a careful and steady rebuild.  Play the long game.

-15 points kills the season for me. We desperately need a rebuild at all playing levels and even if saved would be subject to significant restrictions based on business plan and P&L. A points deduction makes another relegation a very real threat.
I'm utterly sick of this club getting a kicking. Another points deduction would IMHO be a hammer blow for morale for players and fans alike.

in a nutshell, yes. He is young and ambitious and so far the ONLY person that's shown willing to save the club. He cannot possibly have thought his money would fail any checks. Have you ever considered he and his advisors have no prior expertise in this field? Many people fail things, it isn't always down to character flaw ffs!
I believe(d) that CK, simply by aligning with Cook, Rooney and Stretford, had vision and belief, and was basically backing himself/Derby to succeed, and that is what I wanted from whoever owns us.
What I don't want is owners NOT committed to a vision of success.

Yeah knowing other clubs want us dead and don't give even the slightest thought about the area or the fans is quite horrendous. I wouldn't wish the death of any club. I have no problem with them wishing us relegated or to do badly, or hating Mel or the people who ran the club. But to hate us to the point we don't exist is horrible
