Probably, we won 6 games in the T20, add the one from the one day cup and I'm sure we’ve won less than 7 a few times post-2000
The really disappointing thing is I honestly believe we've got a good squad of players (though the bowling outside of T20 has looked weak) but it's just not worked this season.
Plenty of draws in the championship as well, my maths says 15 defeats all together, time to add to that of course 😬

On Sunday Derbyshire Disabled CC are playing Warwickshire in the Midlands Final at Melbourne CC at 1pm. 
I will be managing, captaining and keeping badly.
We are massive underdogs but all spectators are welcome. (they have a bar and a viewing balcony)

The decision to have Wood come out at 3 was odd, he struggled badly and took away all the momentum Reece and Came had built. Once we got behind the run rate we crumbled.

It’s difficult to tell from where I am sat whether this is atrocious bowling or sublime batting but it’s getting embarrassing.

Has anyone pitched "The72" to the ECB?
After all, no one has wanted to franchise the hundred format and by making it 72 balls you make it "more exciting" and it's "innovative" because it's not T20 but best off all itd give the ECB another go at killing off the country game.

Clowes didn't want to own Derby and stepped up to save us against his own better judgement. I'm genuinely a bit embarrassed that in just over a year some are ready to start blaming him for things. Good grief. 

Agree. I think one of the main issues is the deafening music culminating in the last 💩song played at the end of half time. No point starting trying to sing anything in the build up to whistle and get atmosphere going as couldnt hear anything. So no atmosphere before start of each half.
I like the drum but it seems to work best to start singing in the lulls or quieter games as it doesnt allow the crowd to dictate the singing based on events on pitch as one person or a small group chooses the song. Last night until depression kicked in across the ground was much more natural singing with no drum but when it falls flat drum great to start it up again. Could the drum be in the gap at bottom of South west corner never sold? 
 
while we're on it the spirit in sky song is not catching on at all. Like the sentiment but so dreary and too complicated. Sounds like bunch of drunk relatives sat in a corner at a wake. (Actually apt last night thinking about it.) Totally agree with second para from @jimbo jones. Simple to pick up short songs by far best. Know I bang on about it but the sammie winnall song totally perfect or osula one. And why do they always have to have the F word in? Not a prude at all but seriously?

Saddens me to say but I find the younger generation dont like the original club songs like We are Derby etc .. Kind of feels that they need to sing all this European lark all the time.. Don't get me wrong there is a place for some of them songs but sure we can all agree old school songs about your club are the best.

So Dal is back in the team as the only change, as we go to Edgbaston to play Warwickshire, who have not only won all 4 games so far, they have thrashed everyone.
The good news, they were equally dominant in the T20 and we beat them twice, when they only lost 3 games. Hopefully we can continue to be a bogey team for them 🤞

I've said before, ideas that we were ready to kick on and compete for silverware after last season were very premature. However, there's plenty of ability in the squad with the bat, and scores of 350 should be attainable - should have got that today if needed.
The bowling needs to greatly improve for us to win consistently, which is why Amir and Brown have been signed. If we can get a good front line spinner as well, we will look a different team.
Today, Lakmal was more like the test bowler we was hoping for, fingers crossed he can stay fit and get into rhythm. Playing all 3 spinners is definitely the way to go. There will be a game all 3 get smashed around the park, but we are more likely to win games with all three playing I reckon.

A very enjoyable day at Derby today. 600 runs and a Derbyshire victory, and I didn't run out of beer either.
