quite a few posters have suggested they’d like us to, in some cases they expect us to, sign the couple of players Warne has alluded to but then also some loans

how does that work?

Remember seeing him For Maccabi Nazareth U21s he was some player but questionable attitude - thought he was God’s gift and could walk on water. Anyway he seems to have redeemed himself and hopefully is ready to be our saviour.

on a side note he’s a bit like Kane with a slow start to the season but comes alive at Easter

I like Barks in the squad - good option off the bench to run at tired legs and give NML some rest

i remember him saying in his first interview that he quite likes playing in a forward role as well as winger so this year we may see him more in his favoured role 

with the really sold base that we have in defence and midfield I think our front players won’t quite look so isolated this season 🤞🤞

If you had told me three weeks ago that Waggy was an option I wouldn’t have believed you. The first 7 signings all made sense, brought quality to the squad and created a buzz in the fan base. 
 

then we sold Bielik and Knight alongside this for decent money so hopes were high 

Fast forward three weeks and I’m hoping Waggy does sign and do you know what - I’d like Dobbin back too!!

If Waggy was a cheap option and Thomson/Kane could fill in at left wb .. would love another maybe even Rhodes as an option off the bench in a tight game or a loanee.

these plus sibs/barks and NML should see us do well

i think we will have more time in the attacking third with the defence and smith in midfield to nullify more attacks than last year and with bird more advanced

just pray we get two forwards in soon before I have to start adding to the twitching thread 

Showed promise I thought as he was clearly rusty but still made an impression on the game allbeit he only played half of it.

Joe ward is becoming a bit of a favourite of mine already. 
we’ve gone from no right back to him! Improves the team massively and allows Smith to focus on midfield.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a multi million pound bid from  one of the Saudi teams for Ward before the season is out 😂

if Mitrovic doesn’t go they might come in for Collins too!

last I heard was he was going to sign a new contract there. As a super sub.

we stalk about Chris because no one has properly replaced him (I know Didz do for a year). 
 

id quite like Godden - he’s be great in L1 theoretically and solid in Championship if we go up. Not a prolific striker like our Chris though 😂

Assume we are still only allowed to offer two year contracts

paul goddard was more of a sheringham. Get hold of the ball, delightful elegant touch, clever little round the corner balls,

Behave yourself!!😂 I never said the same player!! India’s similar impact ie he’d be a good foil in a two where he’d not be the main goal scorer but would contribute. 
 

we’re in L1 and he’s on a free - they are not going to be the same player. 
 

A few were hanging him by his gol record and I was merely pointing out that potentially his impact in the team  might not be too goal scorer. 
 

perhaps mentioning God - dard might have been me getting excited after two signings. I’m cool with that 😎

Collins and CW in their 30s could do with a younger

hoping PW has remembered when he said post season that he had relied on some players too much

So based on the feedback on how he plays I’m hoping that CW is going to have a similar role as Paul Goddard did.
I don’t remember a big fan fare when he arrived but what a player for us he was and how superb he was for Dean Saunders .. question is if Conor can have a similar impact, allbeit at a lesser level, who will be our Deano?

Warne played NML up top a couple of times towards the end of the season so maybe he is an option. Think he could do ok 

To be fair - I also share the nagging feeling regarding Clarke Harris. I had originally Thought that the Bielik transfer might see this announced. Got that wrong. I’m assuming Knight will go so maybe that’s the hold up if we are indeed to sign him. 
 

Imagine Clarke Harris and Alfie May. Some statement of intent that would be.

I agree that who wears an armband on the pitch doesn’t matter so much but doesn’t the captain have behind the scenes responsibilities- welcoming new players, advising younger players, club functions etc? 
Great communication with PW, his staff and DC/SP? 

As a few posters have said this will hopefully mean tying down a few players in longer contracts ie cashin, wildsmith and whichever of bird knight and Sibley stay. 
 

I can’t deny that part of my would love to see Bielik in that midfield for one more season .. exactly what we needed this pat season .. as well as another goal scorer
