Apologies I’ve not read any comments in the thread as yet.. how did Smith stay in the pitch with bird on the bench?
love Nyambe but for this game surely Wilson would be the better option? Half time change?
two cdms when we are dominating possession at home? Nah. Not good enough Paul. Fair enough if you want to set up that way but after 30 mins it was clear that smith was off it and surplus to requirements for this game.
football was much better and Barks continuing fitness and NML played better.
Love nyambe - sign up for 2.5 years please

Nyambe is looking good and got better as the half went on
Fornah getting better game by game
Nelson playing like I assumed Bradley was going to
waggy working hard but we don’t composed up front
we’re making them look better than us at times Which I actually don’t think they are

So cash would go we’d get JCH .. collo to Shrewsbury .. what about a defender with pace and a midfielder?

I would find it quite a coup if we got him and then Collo can go to Shrewsbury but I’d think playing every week in L1 would do Idah the world of good. He should be decent in this league and we should get someone who could add real menace up front especially if he gets his confidence up.
would be really happy with this if it happened. No guarantees he’s do as well as I’d hope but as has been mentioned there are no guarantees for the players we can afford especially in the striking department. Might mean using some of the Cashin cashish

I'm trying NOT to be influenced by the fact I think he is a bit of a t*t!
Unlike many on here, I have never warmed to his antics. Especially the verbal diarrhoea, personal remarks about players and lack of boundaries. Where's his work/life balance?
But I can put up with all of that if we're winning whilst playing some good football.
Same. He lost me when he wore the oversized cardigan and the peaky blinders hat …
When I had a personal conversation he was lovely, personable and warm but the interviews make me cringe.
I’m
A die hard happily clapper and proud but I haven’t felt this little confidence in the manager since the Paul Jewell days. (And Pearson .. obvs)

Love Cash and always wanted him to captain us in the premier league!!
if he has to go so be it. As someone pointed out in a previous post it would be so good if we replaced him with a pacy cb
having pace up front in the middle and at the back changes our options so hopefully no more dross percentage rubbish that we resort to sometimes .. a lot of the time ..

Like most of us I’m excited and relieved in equal measure with these additions.
my only concerns are- I hope we don’t put too much pressure on these boys too early
- can warne get a tune out of the team - will he play a back 4 at least at home?
on another note considering we have NML Waghorn Washington TJJ Collins Sibley and Barks would we let barks go and maybe Collins for a strong attacking replacement(s)?

When we have been in poor runs in the past I’ve mainly been able to understand or accept it as the performances were still competitive and entertaining.
at the moment I see good players playing in a system that doesn’t suit them, playing percentage football with no apparent structure/game plan
I am not ally firmly in the happy clapper Derby til I die camp but at the moment I’m disappointed in performances and concerned that not enough will change to what could have been a potentially successful season.
perhaps the injuries will force the hand of recruitment.

Its the way we’re playing, the one dimensional tactics that make us look a shambles when they don’t work, the boring ugly style of football we’re having to endure, the hammering of square pegs into round holes Warne does week after week to try and make his rubbish system work and the total lack of a plan B when it doesn’t. These are the reasons some of us see absolutely nothing positive in any of the games.

I think Warne’s plan has been for only 2 of them starting, not three. With two attacking midfielders and a striker. Obviously, with recruitment at the moment, it’s been a bit different.
I see - would Bird count as one of the two attacking midfielders?
-
On the bench? Him and wash to come on?
I do like his versatility -
Valakari raises a point I was thinking the other day - who is our back up midfield? If one of the starting three get injured and then someone picks up a knock in a game we could have Thommo and Robinson on the pitch at the same time
this would be good for thommo but Robinson whilst well thought of is untried. On that basis tunnicliffe or such like would be a good option along with two forwards (prefer the sound of assombolonga than Rhodes) as hopefully warne rotates the squad more than he did last year
So who would we have then?

Did we interview anyone else at the time or did we focus on getting Paul Warne?
