how I’m guessing the team will shape up

Don’t think people are against differing opinions, but people are against people spouting opinions without any actual factual reasoning and definitely moving the goalposts to suit an agenda. Anyone who does that should be called out.

Let him post what he wants. For some people forums, twitter, podcasts are oxygen.... for others they are cyanide.

We had people moaning that we "missed out" on Ruben Rodrigues, a 26-year-old who has spent the last 4 years of his career in non-league. We also have people hoping we "take a punt" on Macaulay Langstaff who is rumoured to cost around £1mil, a 26-year-old who, although is prolific, has spent his entire career below Tier 5 in the English pyramid, except for last season.
Yet we sign players who have consistently played well at this level, or even higher, and people turn their noses up at them. Washington wouldn't have been top of my wish list, but if he's a squad player, and he's free, then we could do much worse. He has a good record in League One, his problems lie when he goes any higher. Given the situation we're in, that seems pretty OK for us. If we were in the Championship and relying on him, then yeah maybe we might struggle, but I see no reason why he can't contribute to a successful season in League One.

I'm happy we have signed him and think an element our support need to check the level we are playing at and what attributes serve purpose.
I can still remember reactions to signing dickov, kuqi and CKR and how the fans that strung themselves up were a little premature. Sure they weren't exactly pele, but they all showed why they had been brought to the club and did themselves proud.

Maybe and this is a big maybe, clowes  Warne and the recruitment team have come up with this never before heard of concept at Derby which is to get an under performing player on the cheap, improve them and make them a better player and then sell them on for a higher fee in a few years.
Sensational idea I know. Seems to go directly against our previous policies of drastically overpaying for a poor player in a purple patch of their career, hope and pray they maintain that purple patch, realise early on they wont as they are pretty poor, sell for a massive loss or loan out paying all their wages a year later, then rinse and repeat over and over again.
Strange times we live in. Almost as if we have some sort of plan now.

I must be a maverick. Out on my own, standing above everyone else, not afraid to go against the grain, but I would take Cosgrove in a heart beat.
He totally destroyed us at pp off the bench, scored vital winning goals for Plymouth both home and away.
Sure he isn't exactly salah, but at this level his height, bravery and physical attributes make him a decent player.

Could you imagine if rooney publicly said he hated a kit for a breast cancer chairty link and how that would have been reported in the national media.
