Except Kieran Maguire started all this by pointing out the amortisation anomaly to the EFL! How brilliant of him.

Well then, something has actually happened! Quantuma did a thing!
Let’s hope Kirchner is first and foremost actually financial capable of taking over the club, and also the right man to take it forward from here on in. Must admit I’m highly dubious about him, when compared to the other known bidders. Doesn’t seem to any clear evidence he has the level of funding required (he’s rich, but I’m not sure he’s THAT rich) and those tweets don’t exactly paint him in a good light. Nevertheless, in our situation beggars can’t be choosers. The only priority right now is to save the club, if he can do that, I’m willing to give him a chance.

I think our quest for a moral and ethical pioneer of impeccable ethics, business sense, wealth and long term vision has to be tempered by the fact that as a business with debts higher than value and liquidation a very real possibility, we might have to settle for whoever stumps up the money.
I don't expect rich people to necessarily be nice people. Even if they've a polished and nice exterior.
If cK saves the club, that's great. I don't have to like him on a personal level or agree with his twitter pooposting to still be happy for DCFC.
The concerns I have are the same I had before, he's young, not exactly sure how he made his wealth or how wealthy he really is,what are his intentions. These are more just unknowns than evidence he'd be bad.

Q have had to navigate the unexpected intransigence & deviance of the EFL / Gibson in finding themselves unable to name a PB since before Xmas - and again for months afterwards, due to the constructive and intentional ambiguity over the parasite claims; then they have seen off the Binnies and especially Kirchner's low-sided pram antics, IMHO probably a good weeding-out.
Then latterly, they have needed to instruct bidders (again) to re-present or amend their bids to submit them in a single, clear and uniform format, set out as requested - to prevent flankers and hidden conditions/clauses and for Q to be finally in a position to compare the bids exactly and directly. Let's hope it's now happening and that the 'chosen ones' meet all the thresholds.
Q's communication inconsistency and flawed deadlining have vexed us all - but they have had to disentangle Mel's mess, create a data room, produce a template for unambiguous bidding amid all the crap from the EFL and disparate approaches from would-be owners.
Bleedin' nightmare, that's for sure....now we might just be close to seeing some daylight.

As fans We don’t get a choice who owns or part owns our football clubs , ive been a derby fan for 55 years , would I let ANY owner make me walk away from such a massive part of my life growing up and following as an adult ? Would I duck ,
I want derby to survive and will support derby no matter who puts the money in to keep them alive , owners come ,stay a while then disappear some people seem to believe supporting the club means you support the ownership, you can support the club but dislike the owners ??‍♂️

With the news of Festy leaving confirmed, it brings home just how hard and long we have been punished as a club. The 21 point deduction is severe in itself but the restrictions placed on us in terms of making new signings and offering new contracts to existing players is destroying our club further.
It goes way beyond this season. It has made survival in the Championship nigh on impossible, made it harder for us to find a buyer and even if we are eventially taken over, with a potential 15 point deduction, the possibility of a new manager and a scratch team, we face an uphill struggle next season too. And that's the favorable outcome.
The EFL, the idiot chairmen at Middlesbrough and Wycombe and all the trolling Florist/Leeds/Boro and other teams (so-called) fans have further tried to push us over the edge.
I just want this to be over now. I'd be a liar if I said this hasn't lowered my mood. The continued worry about the loss of something you have loved for the majority of your life is draining. I'm sure many of you feel the same. Please make this finish. Please can we have a PB  by Friday and at least start on the journey in rebuilding our beloved Rams.

Although you did speak for yourself.....I suspect the majority on here, myself included agree with everything you've said.  This is a great forum....yeah there's some very strong views at times, some perhaps crossing lines, but this is policed really well by the mods and of course @David.  It's been a lifeline and escape for me these last couple of years in particular. I've nosed around in many other forums and, not being biased at all, very few compare. Some are utter tripe.

Been on this forum a long time. Never once have I felt that there was any influence on my views from yourself or others here. I find it somewhat disrespectful to even imply such a thing.
You have acted on good faith and been severely let down, we as a fan base need to stick together not try and score cheap points.

I totally agree with this, but I am still miserable. All the uncertainty over the football club is slowly killing me.
The only release has been the good performances on the pitch, spirited fightbacks, joy of watching our best youngsters breaking through to first team and some of the great football we have played.
We don't seem to be getting any luck, on or off the pitch and the relentless negativity of some of our own so called supporters on here grinds me down.
Whatever happens, I am proud of Rooney and his management team, our players and those fans who give their all, week in, week out, whatever the performance.

We had eight senior outfielders (two left-backs) and two senior goalkeepers going into this season. I had us down before a ball had even been kicked. Let alone being deducted 21 points.
This season has already far exceeded expectations. There’s no reason to be down. It’s been fun, the fans have been at their best.
If we haemorrhage poor results in these last eight games then so be it, because it’ll be what it is. A bunch of teenagers who’ve put up a fight succumbing to circumstance.

If you have a story it's better to sensationalize the story, Make it bigger and better, KM who goes as the Barron on here wants people to read his blog or protestations concerning DCFC who he believes Q are monsters who don't talk to the EFL, The same EFL who I would walk across the road to piss on them but not put them out.
Ukraine are being blown to pieces, Russia want them off the map, Who's the guilty party here, It aint Ukraine, The EFL have all the power, They hold all the cards, Did you believe when WR said "nobody wants us in the Championship" i've said this on many occasions on here the EFL want a carcus in DCFC to show the world they're not to be messed with.
Journalists are the people who are bearers of bad news as bad news = more readers = more clicks = more views for adverts.
We all have an opinion of Q and the EFL, I'll stick with Q thanks, And duck the EFL
Sorry for the analogy of what's going off in Ukraine

I am, like many, no apologist for the EFL - they have consistently shown themselves to be incompetent - but they cannot 'just' be abolished.  They are a members' club whose rules and regulations are agreed upon by the members, so it is the members that will have to agree their abolition (and no doubt their rules will insist on a certain majority of members voting for such a change).  So replacing them with an 'independent regulator' or abolishing them is not likely to happen, nor to make that much difference in the short term even if it were to happen.
If, instead, you add an additional organisation - the independent regulator - you then have to ask and answer a whole series of other questions.  Does it regulate the amateur and the professional game (broadly the current job of the FA); does it regulate the EFL clubs and the PL clubs (thereby impacting the PL's role) or the EFL clubs only; which areas of football does it regulate - does it govern the rules of the game, for example, or just the financial management of professional clubs, does it govern the appointment of owners, does it negotiate TV and other contracts and the distribution of those monies, does it agree the FFP rules or the discipline of players or both; is it affiliated in any way to UEFA or FIFA - does it have to recognise UEFA and FIFA's roles in competitions and the way in which the game operates, for example, so if UEFA agrees a change in FFP rules across European clubs, does the regulator have to apply those rules?
We do have to have organisations that run the game - to agree fixtures, formally agree the seasons' outcomes by promotion and relegation, agree the rules of the game, appoint, manage and train referees/linos, discipline clubs and players etc etc.  If we have an independent regulator we have to decide whether they are the football equivalent of the Bank of England or the FCA or Ofsted or the General Medical Council or the Care Quality Commission - all of which operate in different ways in their fields - or something football specific.
The very best solution would be that the EFL becomes better at running the game, that its rules are better and applied better, that its senior executives are better in terms of the leadership and vision that they show, that they run the sport and their organisation better.  The reason that we are talking about an independent regulator at all is because they are currently broadly incompetent. But an independent regulator is not necessarily the whole answer, however much we dislike Parry and his incompetent fellows. They may not even be a better answer.

I love and hate this idea.
Love the idea to give the EFL another headache, they allowed this with the way they have handled it.
I hate the idea as Reading are an innocent party in this, I would be a hypocrite.
How can I sit here after 4 months of reading rules and regulations explaining why Boro have no claim and then support this, knowing the stress Reading fans would be going through?
I want the EFL to recognise just what they have done, but not sure I can with a clear conscious agree.
I hope that it's decided on the pitch and doesn't come down to just 3 points difference.
What will really piss me off is when we hear Boro have voted in favour of clarifying rules to make it clear no club can sue another clue.
Bookmark this post. It will happen.
Sidenote, surely this would be down to the new owners to decide, not the administrators?
