The problem with that theory is that the stadium is collateral in a deal between Mel and MSD and that is not subject to any administration process.  If we go under Mel still owns the stadium along with MSD. He could go ahead with plans to make it a covered arena for entertainment events and conventions. It”ll rival the NEC. The stadium would still be viable even if it wasn’t a football ground.

Having read the boro forum which is pretty similar to every football forum in terms of characters I came across this.
Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? Would this go someway to explain SG's motivation? Would maybe partly explain despite the bad press why he won't relent as can kick MM one more time.
I think the key to this may be the debt to MSD Holdings, approx £20m, which carries a personal guarantee from Mel Morris. My understanding, as a layperson, is that liquidation would trigger that liability i.e. MSD can come after MM personally. MSD is, in practice, Michael Dell of Dell Computers, who is worth about $60 billion. This is the situation that MM wishes to avoid - personal liability to someone out of his weight division. He is therefore under pressure to reach an agreement with Boro and Wycombe to avoid liquidation and leave the liabilities with DCFC. Gibbo knows this and is keeping the pressure on.

Yeh, well the administrators are out of the building on the 1st Feb, he’ll want plenty of rent off the new buyers in order to cover his loan and get a return on investment though.

I did catch the end of a discussion on Twitter Spaces, hopefully I'm not taking this out of context, sure I heard the figure of £5m looking to be raised, which seems a tad unrealistic.
The club has 356k Twitter followers, you would be looking at every single one of those followers donating £15, when you think that figure would be made up of duplicate accounts, websites, players, other clubs, bots and younger fans you will be looking at a much much larger contribution per person.
I'm not against crowdfunding, just think they should be a little more realistic in their targets and rather than cover the costs for the season, help contribute towards them, even 100k would grab headlines, better to smash targets rather than fall woefully short asking too much of fans.

I do as it is mainly funding players wages  and many fans will be suffering financially. But many wont be and want a way to feel they can help in some way. You wont get large sums from businesses, HNWI, ex-players unless it is official. If people cant or dont want to contribute then just dont and help in other ways which are just as important but dont obstruct those that want to do it without anything back except helping club survive

I don't understand why some people are against fund raising to help the clubs cash flow in the short term. Everyone this way is able to donate what they can afford or feel comfortable doing, it further raises the profile of our cause and it allows local businesses to support (and get some good PR to by helping).

if we get new owners we are likely to not have a single pot to piss in for a long time. this seems to me like it might be a good opportunity to have some fan ownership/investment along similar lines to crowdfunding.

so we make a donation and get a reward (shares? a season ticket, a discount on future season tickets, even discounts at the shop, ground etc) it would allow those with deep pockets to help out - in fact allow everyone to play a part, and get something back for themselves and imagine the positive PR for a club that hasn't been squeaky clean of late to be seen to be leading the revolution toward better fan ownership/representation

Why not ask the players to contribute towards ticket sales too? I feel sure that some could player for a class full of kids themselves. They’re probably just waiting for someone to ask them!!

If, like me, you're sick of reading about the following...The EFL, Quantuma, Gibson, Middlesbrough, Wycombe, Couhig, Parry, Birch, Points deductions, Liquidation, Mel Morris etc. etc. etc. then thought this might be a good idea for some light hearted Friday respite to pass the day before the nerves/stress of tomorrow and then the ensuing week of more of the the above.
Be interesting to see the different way fans make it to a Saturday 3 o clock home game.....
    I'll kick off...
With the kids (5 & 7) it would be a 25 min drive to park up in Chad. Fish or Doner and chips from Chad Fish Bar. Walk over the bridge take the kids to McDonalds. Walk to the ground for about 2:15 to watch the players warm up.
Without the kids, bus into Derby for about 10 o clock. Copious amounts of Lager normally on a route something like Standing Order, Jorrocks, White Horse, Neptune. Taxi /speed walk to the ground for 2:58pm
    Up the Rams!

I’m surprised anyone can ever remember the game ?
    Mine’s usually train to Derby 11.44 - 1.40.
Check to see how busy the Brunswick is. One pint max to avoid constant weeing.
Consider a ‘guess where the bread ends’ burger.
Casual stroll around the ground to gauge the vibe.
    Through turnstile about 2.30.
    Delay toilet til 2.45.
Take seat and take it all in.
Wish I could do it more but love every minute.

    9:00 Train to Derby.
    10:00 Standing Order.
    Fry up.
    4 pints of Guinness.
1:30 Ponder a slow walk to the ground and a Pork Pie from Birds.
    Another pint of Guinness.
2:00 Ponder walking to the ground.
    Another pint of Guinness.
Could I still get a pork pie from Birds, might help sober me up?
2:30 Ponder a quick walk to the ground.
Pint of Guinness with Sambuca chaser.
    Order a taxi.
Bottle of lager for the journey.
Cancel taxi, he won't make it in time. Leave Standing Order.
2:40 Ponder running to Pride Park.
    2:50 White Horse, shot.
2:51 Get Taxi outside Council House, tell him you'll pay £200 if he gets to the ground on time.
    2:55 Arrive at Pride Park.
2:59 A mate who you last saw 3 hours ago, and who doesn't drink has bought a round of Marston's Smooth's for you all at a cost of £37.50.
    3:00 kick off
3:10 Finish the Marston's Smooth by downing it/leaving the last quarter of the icy liquid in the bottom of the plastic glass.
    3:11 Quick piss.
3:12 Take position in the stands, apologise to everyone on your row for being one of those late to the game *********.  We're 1-0 down.
3:45 Text your mate who went down 5 minutes early to secure more Marston's Smooth (for a laugh) that you want a bag of Minstrels for the 2nd half. Tell him you'll pay him back.
3:57 Pint arrives, your mate forgot the Minstrels. "Didn't get your text" he lies.
4:05 Neck pint, take up position in the stand, no one else is back in their seats yet anyway.
4:10 - 4:55 Sober up as you watch us go 2-0 down before pulling back a late consolation. You stay to the end.
    5:20 Jorrocks.
    8:00 Leave Jorrocks.
    8:30 3 for a fivers somewhere.
    9:00 Vomit.
9:30 Go somewhere, you're not sure where, might be Tiger Bar, might be a different universe.
10:30 Find your mates, get a Kebab.
11:00 "Blue Note?". Nah, last train leaves in 8 minutes.
    11:02 Taxi.
11:08 Train Station, train is delayed until 11:23.
    11:23 Train.
    12:00 Home. Pass out.

Apparently, he's said that he's happy not to have any rent off the administrators and will be happy to rent the ground to new owners. Maybe this statement has led to the Binnie Family committing to the above offer.

Oh dear...I really hope the Club buy the stadium.  Paying a landlord is a millstone around your neck.  Alternatively you could play your games in another city like your fellow Championship members Coventry City did on 2 occasions (Northampton 1 season and Birmingham for 2 seasons), over a 5 year period.  The crowds at Northampton were 1/8 of the attendances in the city for several months.  Then BCFC,  50% of previous season attendance for some games but far lower most of the time.
Back to what is best for Derby: Own your ground. Own your training ground. Respect you, the fans.

Hopefully, Quantuma will have pulled a rabbit out of the hat before then - but it's sure to be a great atmosphere.
Old enough to remember the dread and doom of that Cup tie vs. Plymouth, the limp defeat, but joy at the club's rescue!
Brum fans hostile to their regime, who say they are not selling up. St Andrews is a tip and needs a serious overhaul - Brum fans may side with us over EFL / parasites?
One thing; whatever happens, should Boro (& Wycombe) make it to play-offs season but get defeated, we must party on!
I'm sure the Wycombe boss uses the motivation of his players fighting to "replace Derby to regain our rightful place", just as much as Rooney will be saying "We are Derby, we fight 'til the end".
