Amuses me that on this thread there are still people delusional enough to think we're not in deep, deep trouble.

Rotherham score goals - we don’t. That’s the concern.

It's just possible that the investors don't want their names made public until it is all done and dusted....if the rich people want it to be confidential they have every right to their privacy - it realy doesn't matter how nosey Derby fans are or how entitled they feel about being privy to the info...
Pretty sure that Alonso would have to tell the EFL who is providing the money, but no reason at all for that to be public knowledge until it's been rubber stamped......

Excellent translation of the text, however like many transcripts of interviews it is very limited to what it quotes.
In the interview he gives an outline of his background:
His father owned Logroñés football club when he was very young and so being around a football club is normal for him.
He moved to Indonesia when he was 16 for family business, and as he knew the trainer of the national boxing team ( his grandfather was Spanish boxing champion and the trainer also Spanish) he took up the sport to get himself fit. He went on to make 5 professional fights, winning all of them by KO and becoming champion of Indonesia. He became a father at 21 and as he felt that he couldn't give the sport 100% decided to finish.
He moved into the family business in Indonesia of real estate, mainly construction of villas in Bali after studying business.
If he were to buy a club for love it would be Logroñés, but the opportunity to buy DCFC was too interesting to pass up. If however he could buy any club in the world it would be Atlético Madrid.
He spoke to Ramon Calderon recently and they talked about the tie in the European Cup.
The interviewers then asked about the money side of the deal and although he didn't want to give out the numbers for buying the club he did leave them almost speechless with the amount of money in the English game. He is however buying the club with the help of partners he has in a holding.
When asked about the reception he had received from fans he was delighted with the response, although he would have understood if they had said "who's this youngster who has come here and bought our club? What are his intentions?" (@DarkFruitsRam7 and @Millenniumram, your tweets didn't reach him).
They then spoke about Rooney, basically saying what was said in the transcript.
"Is there a Spanish player that you would like to take to Derby County?" was then asked to which he answered Fernando Llorente. After the incredulation of the interwiewers he did say that he had not spoken to Llorente, but that as someone from his region and someone he admires very much he is "the type of player, for his experience and what he would bring" that he would like to sign, but at this moment the club doesn't have that kind of money. However he would be his dream signing.

That more or less is the interview. What would I say are my feelings after listening? He is a young man who has known nothing but success. He always gives 100% to whatever he does. He's not in this on his own, but although he didn't say who the other backers are (in no way did he avoid the very brief question, he just didn't elaborate)  or how much input in the day to day running they will have I got the impression that he will be the one running us. He does seem to want nothing but success and does understand how much it could cost. If he has half the success he has had up to now and his ambition would suggest then we're in for quite some ride.
My worries? He may just be too enthusiastic, and although as I said he appears to know the pitfalls, he does seem to drop things when he feels he can't give 100% (take his promising boxing career).
I haven't been to an amusement park in almost 15 years, it looks as though I'm about to go on the biggest and newest there is around.

A 29-year-old Spanish businessman has acquired Derby County from the English second division. He is a former professional boxer who left his career and has now launched himself into the challenge of football: "A very interesting opportunity has arisen for us, I am moved by challenges and I said why not. I want to make Derby County a success. I have some partners in a holding company and we decided to buy together. I think the response from the fans has been very good, and I have noticed good words. In the end their luck will be mine. I would have understood that they doubted me because of my age but they have not been like this ". He tells us about the competition, he believes that economically it is far above Spain and to prove it he gives us some figures: "The second Spanish division cannot be compared economically with the English one. Any team that rises from the Championship to the Premier has 170 million euros. euros. That is the objective. Second, we received about forty million euros in television rights " The coach is the mythical Wayne Rooney and Erik says that he has been very surprised by his great predisposition and his sense of humour. As for signings, he says he would like to take his countryman Fernando Llorente.
Contrary to saying nothing till the deal was finalised Alonso now intends to take a full page ad in every paper in every geographical location on the planet.
Alright the last bit was added.

"The eventual goal is to scrape PL survival every year like Newcastle and Palace"
"The eventual goal is to fluke a promotion"
"The eventual goal is to reach the playoffs"
The eventual goal is to stay in the Championship"

Whats wrong with that?. Should he just say "we'll stay in the championship for another 6-7 years, hoping to get into the playoffs like the previous 13 seasons".
All he's telling us is it's his ambition to eventually get us into the CL.
I bet a few Leicester fans were thinking the same when they got took over.
We have no idea what level of backing he has do we.

I always like to be optimistic and will wait to see if the funds come through and the EFL tests are passed. If he has the funds to buy the club and guarantee to be able to fund it for 2 years fair enough , if not then it will be known very soon.
If he has funds then hopefully they are from legit sources.  I would be seriously worried if not , unlike fans of a neighbouring club , where there are unanswered questions as to the source of that money and don’t seem to care as long as they can continue to collect ageing players in large wages.

Whats all this rubbish about that alonso has spoken to cardiff , he did speak to them they have confirmed that but never got into serious discussions . So the bloke is telling the absolute truth .
Im getting sick of this . It looks like to me we have finally got someone young and vibrant taking over the club and alot of people are jealous , and a few Derby fans are irrritated as well as they dont have an excuse to moan .There seems to be a campaign to make this bloke look bad . Jealousy springs to mind to me .
The bloke has done nothing wrong at all so at the moment im fully behind him and find its bloody brilliant that it looks like we will have funds again

As long as we only use Nick De Marco when it come to English Football Law then I'll happy.
I'll be happier still if we don't need him again.

The quote is “we spoke to “ which doesn’t really say entered into discussions. Maybe the response from Cardiff meant he wasn’t inclined to take it further hence no more talks ? You would have thought that he has entered into an NDA with Mel and shown proof of funds. Seems a non story to me

    "Close friend"
Do we actually know that? Are all friends/associates to be classed as "close friends" for the purposes of highlighting a point?
He didn't say that on the interview I saw on sky, he merely said that they have money and will spend on the club what is required to be successful without being reckless. "If it takes £20m or if it takes £150m then ok"
It's always better to listen to an actual interview than go on a headline tweet.

I think there is a big difference between being concerned and some of the vitriolic rubbish I have read on this thread, yes.
I think the very phrase "holding to account" smacks of an entitlement that I just don't think we as fans have, but if you feel we must  hold him to account, shouldn't we at least wait until he's done something?
What is the "standard befitting of football club owners" and how many would actually pass such a test? Would Chelsea's owner?
I just feel that fans these days get hung up on far too much. Really, if you only want ethical ownership,  maybe professional football is not the sport for you.

Exactly this. There are no guarantees in football and for every ten investors, only two are "succesful" - if success is measured on a scale of only promotion is good enough.
The other eight aren't all crooks or were rubbish. They just tried and failed.
Overall the last seven years have been more enjoyable on the pitch than they haven't and I like others am just sad that it didn't work out for Mel. Have met him a few times I feel he is a decent guy who only ever wanted the best for this club.
There is no magic formula for success. I have just rewatched the review of the 13/14 season (I know!)
Leeds were in the High Court, look where they are now. Wigan, alternatively, were riding high. Look how divergent their future paths have been.
There's nothing guaranteed in football but we journey with hope, that's what we enjoy.
For those of you that just enjoy wallowing in the misery, this may well have been your season, but beware, things might get better!
