The "only obeying orders" aspect troubles me, yes, if he'd stood up to Mel he'd have been sacked but I was fairly sure if you're a chartered accountant your reputation for integrity is everything.
Clowes trust him enough to keep him, or, he knows enough to make getting someone else not worth it.
Ultimately, it's hard to not see him as part of Mel Morris and the financial disaster and EFL problems. Can he ever atone for that in the eyes of us fans? It'll be hard to do, as presumably the club becomes sound and well run financially we'll all just never even think about him. Functions like accounts never ever get credit for doing the job well, only blame for mistakes.

During the sorry mess, Pearce went on Radio Derby to assure us that DCFC was being jointly run by Mel and The Sheikh. He clearly was being kept in the dark. By the way Sheffield Utd are now under embargo for not keeping up payments for players . Do they still owe us anything for Bogle and Lowe ? We certainly haven’t been paid for Ebiowei.

It might be different (but I doubt it) if we had Derby players in the England team. I am quite patriotic and want England to win but I have no affinity with the likes of Grealish, Kane, Maguire etc

I've already read terms such as "Everybody" and "The whole country" etc...
That for me is the crunch. 
Why should folk be allowed to just stroll in once every 4 years, and take part in the positivity?  Many of whom won't know the offside rule, or what year England won the WC, or what 2 teams played in "The white horse final"!.  They won't know who Geoff Hurst effectively replaced in '66.  
They won't realise that the vast majority of the cast of "Escape to Victory" were yer actual, real life footballers... icons in some cases... legends to many!
They won't know that Bury were winning cup finals by 6 goals decades, and decades, and decades before Man bloody city were doing it!  
They won't know who held the FA Cup for the most consecutive years (Trick question... but a good 'un!)
They won't have a clue who Mr S Bloomer was (More than just a Rams legend!), or that a keeper once played on in a cup final with a broken neck!
What does "First division champions actually mean?"  They'll cry.
"Charlton reached the '46 cup final despite losing to Fulham in a 3rd round tie?  Don't be so ridiculous!", they'll screech!
