Carnero reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Retained List
Purely seeking clarification on some inconsistencies of course, the doubt has already been cast by Simmo him or herself 🤣
We’re offering Burrows a contract despite him being under contract at Posh….
Smith had a bad attitude after being dropped, I wouldn’t interpret a 62nd minute knee injury in a game in November that kept him out until February as “being dropped”, and before then he’d played an active part in the side as well as coming back into the team after his injury… BUT maybe I’m mistaken in my interpretation 🤷🏻♂️

Carnero reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Retained List
Dropped out of the team….following the knee injury he suffered on the pitch against Bristol Rovers on 25/11/2023 and subsequent recovery time of several weeks? Having been involved in all 17 league one matchday squads up to that point including playing 90 mins in 10 of those games? The same Korey Smith who seems to be a well liked and respected member of the squad and has from the outside seemingly always conducted himself as a top pro and played out of position for the cause? 🤔

Carnero got a reaction from McMuffin in Summer transfer suggestion thread
Surely moving Nelson to the centre of the back 3 is a valid option (with Bradley as the cover/alternate), in which case a more mobile right sided centre back could be signed to compete with Nyambe/Rooney.

Carnero reacted to Ambitious in How much do you think we have to spend on actual transfer fees?
We will learn a lot from the retained list and the scale of work that needs to be done this summer. We know that we are potentially losing 15 of last year’s squad, we know that we would need to increase the squad size for the Championship and only really have one player: Brown who is expected to take a place in the squad.
If we are looking at potentially bringing 13, 14 players to the club this summer then there is undoubtedly going to have to be a healthy budget to accommodate it. I’m sure the Clowes will not be concerned with outlay for players if he truly believes he has the recruitment personnel and coaching personnel because you can sell players at a profit. I don’t doubt for a minute that the days of us spending good money on older, experienced players for the job of getting promotion rather than creating a resale market for ourselves has gone.
Find talented players, develop them and sell them on for higher fees. We have done very well at academy level in achieving just that, but appalling when it comes to recruiting/selling at first team level.

You'd get 9 assists playing in a team which scores so many from corners when you take every single one of them. Stats are nothing without context.
Legs have gone, he was a liability. We improved immensely when Warne finally realised it.

Carnero reacted to ram59 in Dajaune Brown
With the match squad increasing from 16 to 20 players, the overall squad needs to increase in size also. Out of those 20 players, 4 or 5 will always be unavailable for one reason or another.
Young players like Brown will be needed to supplement the squad, as we can't afford to buy/loan enough proper first team players to fill the match day squads.
Also, our own youngsters are more likely to be content with occasional appearances on the bench, whereas newly bought/loaned players will not be happy at all.
Hopefully, one or more of those youngsters will seize the opportunity when it comes and establish themselves in the team.

Carnero reacted to Srg in Aston Villa
Nope. By far the better team and squad.
A half fit Jack Marriott wasn’t changing a damn thing. We didn’t leave the second coming of Pele on the bench, his career has showed everyone that.

And to think there were people on here claiming that our 22/23 attendances would dwindle in L1 and/or would dwindle in 23/24 if Warne remained in charge... 😂🤦♂️

There was less away fans in the second league one season so the amount of home fans actually increased a lot more than the 19 per match showed.
There will be a large increase in the amount of away fans this season so with the amount of season tickets sold attendances should be up this season despite one or two on here saying there could be a massive drop if we kept the manager.

Carnero reacted to YouRams in Paul Warne
I'm really excited to see what PW can do for us back in the champ with no restrictions. If you're a Prem manager with a potential young gem, PW is just the man you'd want to send them out on loan to. How he is as a person and a manager, the togetherness he's created with our team, add into that our facilities and attendances we'll attract some good young players this summer.
