Yes to John Lundstram... would add some experience and steel into the midfield, and at just turned 30 isnt exactly over the hill.

Thought he’s allowed to just leave once he’s in league one ?

We also had to make do without Fozzy for a chunk of the season and Elder for nearly all of it, all of which were clearly Warne's fault.

£17.2m in wages at the club for 22/23 - I would say £12m (70%) is a fair reflection for the playing staff. It left £5.2m per annum for 118 non-playing staff which is roughly £44k per annum on average. I could argue again that’s still pretty high, but as ball park figures are likely to be there or thereabouts.

Well, that's what comes from playing for a L1 club.  He's only got himself to blame, I say!

It’s interesting to hear about potential Cashin links. There have been 2 CB names which have come to me in the last couple of days, 1 has visited the training ground and the other has only been in spoken about (I’m sorry I’m unsure which is in which order)
    • Harry Souttar (Leicester)
    • Nigel Lonwijk (Wolves)
In my opinion, 2 very different centre backs but wouldn’t have thought we’d be after 2, unless there were any departures…
With the information provided, I believe Souttar is a loan and Lonwijk is permanent.

Will update if I get any more info.

I saw on Twitter that Ebou Adams has apparently taken Cardiff City out of his Instagram bio now.
I don’t know why I’m posting this in transfer rumours as really it’s as good as an official confirmation that Ebou is back.

We're a big club in the sense that we're in the top 20 for the most successful sides in the country and always in and around the top 20 for average attendances even when playing in the damn 3rd division. Those two parameters make us a 'big' club by any definition. We're big we're just not 'the biggest'.

Ganging up , bullying 😂😂😂, here we go again ,,,,, you pick subjects and points of view that you know will fully put you at odds with lots of posters on this forum and let’s be honest they are 99% of the time aimed at putting derby , the manager and players down , that’s fine but don’t pull all this victim poo , you crave attention through negative jibes at the club

It's amazing how these topics get side-tracked, it really is.  @Bris Vegas I've only read through the last couple of pages but if you're going to make a claim about us not having any international players since the early 00's, without the caveat that they have to have been from a popular country and have a large personal fan base, then you're going to get called out because what you stated was clearly untrue.
Therefore you shouldn't play the victim card when you get blow back on views which are misinterpreted, due to you not making your point clear.  Also as @Archied has pointed out, a lot of your opinions seem to be at odds to the majority of others on here, and change if they're challenged.  I can remember a fantastic conversation we had about whether points gained or league position was a true barometer of a club progressing, it lasted for days.  What fun that was...

Derby took a chance on him when he was a youngster as he failed a medical due to bone density issue  and other clubs immediately withdrew interest. They then supported him through his altercation in Dublin scenario. He rewarded Derby by saying he couldn't wait for Burnley to increase their offer to get a a move,  slagged us off when the Keogh situation was ongoing and sent out a thumbs up social media post when he was on loan at QPR and we got relegated when they beat us.  His 10 man goal doesn't cover that lot.  Hope he winds up on the bench at Forest Green .

I now ignore historical achievements, matchday attendances, size of the wider fanbase and overall potential.
My true judgement on what constitutes a big club is whether Mexican Football Monthly magazine has mentioned the club in the last year or so.

There’s a difference between “being outbid” and choosing to pay up to a certain amount that the club believes the player is worth. Not saying I agree with it, but there’s every chance the club has made what it believes is a fair offer and Sibley feels he’s worth more so is looking elsewhere, rather than that Rotherham are able to pay more than we can.
IF he is leaving it’s a massive shame either way.

So last season Luton were a bigger club that Derby?
Bigger global audience due to being a PL club frequently on TV, whilst we only had a few TV games.
They were certainly able to sign better players than we could.
No difference in the ability to challenge for major trophies.
What you refer to are more closely linked to financial power - the more you spend, the more you can attact players and challenge for trophies, whilst also increasing exposure to a wider audience.
Our ceiling isn't "midtable PL". Our ceiling is no different from the likes of Leicester who have shown how a reasonable sized club can still win the league, even if the stars do need to align for it to happen. It's mostly been that way since the 70s anyway, with only Blackburn, Leeds, Forest and Villa (to a lesser degree) being surprise winners since we last won it almost 50 years ago.

You're confusing stadium size with club size. If Liverpool had a 100,000 stadium, they'd fill it quite regularly with mainly Liverpool fans. If West Ham had a 100,000 stadium they might fill it occasionally, but only if there was nothing else to do in London that weekend and the tickets were cheap.
As far as your later post is concerned, you were doing so well until you mistook the temporary with the permanent, the superficial with matters of substance. While Villareal are in La Liga and Derby are not in the PL, they'll beat us to a player every time, particularly if they're from a Spanish speaking country, assuming we'd both be interested in signing them, but mid-table Premier League as a destination most likeley trumps Villareal everytime, unless a player simply decides they prefer to live in the Villareal area.

I don't think under Warne we're ever going to have a creative midfielder in the typical 'attacking midfield' role. I think his ideal central midfielder is Craig Bryson - someone who covers a lot of ground, gets involved in the game at every level and will endeavour to get in the box. I'm ok with that.

I try not to let what's happened since he left Derby have an impact on my memories of Rooney's time at Derby.
I remember feeling very proud of being a Derby fan during that season that we were relegated and was there at Moore Farm when Rooney led the players to address us fans.
I've got nothing but happy memories of Wayne Rooney as Derby manager which is odd given we were relegated!
