I could understand if they were jumping ship for another Champ academy but they are joining Man City, Liverpool & Man Utd - the biggest clubs in the country

Is this not exactly what we are currently doing? Today we had 3 academy players starting with another 6 on the bench - how much more can we do to show to young players we have a clear route to our first team?

That trend has changed significantly in the past few years. These players have been used this season by those clubs
Man City - Foden, Garcia, Harwood-Bellis, Delap, Doyle, Palmer, Nmecha and Barnabe.
Liverpool - Alexander-Arnold, Jones, RWilliams, NWilliams, Kelleher, Phillips, Clarkson, Wilson, Elliott, Koumetio
Man Utd - Rashford, Pogba, McTominay, Greenwood, Henderson, Tuanzebe, Williams, Lingard, Fosu-Mensah
Chelsea - Mount, James, Abraham, Christensen, Gilmour, Tomori, Anjorin, Loftus-Cheek

I believe the Prem & EFL are looking at rule changes now brexit has come into play so it stops top Prem clubs picking young players from EFL clubs now they cant from abroad like you said.

Quite right and Bellingham was a Brum fan who signed a pro deal with them to ensure they would get a good fee for him.

Why would a club pay that much for players that they can take a club to a tribunal amd pay the deciding fee.
Lots of young players move around clubs, we signed Knight at a similar age from an Irish club.
The only young player who has gone for big money is Bellingham, I cant think of any others?

One for the summer could be Rob Atkinson at Oxford. Only 22, left footed centre back, 6ft 4, and very good on the ball. Not sure he wpuld cost too much either

Imagine being branded "ill advised" when he'll have the chance to play for Liverpool, in the Champions League and a better chance to play for England. The chance to pay off his mortgage, his mums mortgage and still have enough to waste on 28 average sports cars of his choice by the end of his first pro deal. 
Or stay at Derby where wages don't get paid on time and you may end up in League One. 

 

As previously mentioned there are some good free's so worth remembering these can be signed after Monday. So someone like Niasse can be put on the backburner whilst we prioritise players who have to be in before Mondays deadline.

Let's take a punt on Arkadiusz Milik, not getting a game at Napoli and surely would welcome the chance of game time alongside Bielik and Jozwiak ahead of the Euro's!
£10k a week wage contribution should seal it.

Some possible loans:
Kamil Grosicki (West Brom) - Winger - reported to have just rejected Forest. Maybe our Polish lads could persuade him
Shane Long (Southampton) - Striker - started only 1 game for them all season. Would be great at pressing but not a prolific goal scorer.
Matej Vydra (Burnley) - Striker - also only started 1 games all season. An excellent finisher but probably not the type of striker we need, I also doubt he has the work ethic Rooney is after.
 

It's normally the selling club who leak our transfer targets to the press.
We've also been in an embargo so the papers had no reason to include us in random rumours just for clicks.
