Credit where credit is due but to hear it called a fantastic achievement with the money they have spent is laughable.
Knew they were safe the minute Bris Vegas started tipping them for relegation.

Never known a team play so many opposition at the 'perfect time' nor have so many things outside of their control fall in their favour.
    You can't influence that.

Forest’s overall points tally should be less than Southampton’s.
The woodwork has been their best defender this season and they have the highest XG against and lowest XG for in the league.
I believe they also have the highest number of penalties missed against them this season too.
    But, credit where it’s due.

Forest have played well in some games, but ai’ve genuinely never seen a luckier side in the PL.

We aren’t going to just jump into being Ipswich and pay 7 figure fees for individuals. I doubt we’d even be allowed to.
But it’s going to make all the difference that we can spend something, we must’ve been ruled out of so many targets because we couldn’t pay nominal fees, or agents wanted a few thousand for brokering a deal.
Saying all that, I will be baying for blood if deadline day comes and goes and we don’t splash out £4mil on the next Jacob Butterfield.

There was a time, not long ago, when you needed 40 points to have even a decent chance of staying up. Not these days... Just relegate all 5 of them and reduce the premier league to 18 teams FFS.

No no, both teams are 'highly competitive' and closer in quality to the top 6 than at any other stage in Premier League history. It's never been of a higher standard and it's impossible to do anything without spending £170m in one season.

Just ban all penalties, I’m sick to death of them. Absolutely insane that you can put your foot in front of somebody as they’re going to strike the ball and you get a penalty for it.

Might seem harsh/reactionary, but I don’t want Warne next season.
With how we’ve played and the chances we’ve had to make the playoffs, this in my opinion is a failure.

I don’t like his style of play, and I sure as hell don’t want us signing “Warne type” players

It's not a blame game, it's trying to discuss why this, very good for this level, squad didn't do better than 7th.

This is fine and all makes perfect sense but doesn’t actually diminish much of what people are saying about Warne.
You can count on one hand the number of people who actively want him out, it’s pointless because barely anyone actually thinks that. But there are legitimate concerns that can’t just be brushed under the carpet despite posters getting their throats jumped down as soon as they say them. Our record is crap against top half teams. We have had an alarming drop off since February. We have blown multiple chances to get into the play offs etc etc.
You then have, and I mean no disrespect by this but it is true, all this coming from a poster who has regularly wanted managers sacked. And that is managers who haven’t been in post long, or who have inherited (far more so than Warne) difficult circumstances under which to operate. And it makes it all look a bit confusing. It’s great you want to give him time but given you’ve been so vocal about managers in the past I don’t think it’s a great look to be getting on at people for not being jubilant about a manager who, so far, has done a job that could probably be argued as ranging between poor to maybe just above average.

No offence Jourdan but that is a weak defence. You are in essence saying Warne & the players are fibbing on camera to keep the fans happy because their obvious disappointment at missing out contradicts your opinion. And the notion that an honourable resignation is the only true confirmation of failure is very far-fetched.
The players will have expected to finish top 6 after returning there after the Burton win (and having been there most of the past 4 months) & had two bites of the cherry last week and this to secure our spot. Of course they will see it as failure - I'd question their professional ambition if they didn't. I don't disagree that we have never looked like one of the top 3 teams but I'm struggling to think of anyone who legitimately thought top 2/3 was achievable - I certainly didn't. 6th on the other hand very much was in our grasp & we haven't done it.
And like I said earlier, disagreeing with you doesn't imply bias. You've cleared stated your position from the start with Warne & are relentless in sticking to that, which is fine but means you're not really best placed to comment on a lack of balance from others.

Hang on a sec, Warne has called it a failure, the players have called it a failure (Hourihane anyway in his interview) & I happen to agree with them. So lets not pretend its an outlier opinion or sensationalist.
The attempt to tarnish contrary opinions to yours as lacking balance is pretty shameless but I would point you in the direction of my post following the win at Exeter where I was complimentary of the performance, result & specifically praised Warne. So your accusation of constant denigration of Warne is totally unfounded. I will post as I see the current situation & if Warne goes on to be successful (which I hope he does) then I will praise him accordingly - I'm not interested in this polarisation of posters into pro-Warne or anti-Warne 'camps'.
I fully recognise Warne will be back next year - the heavy handed approach would be to demand his removal which I haven't said at any stage this season nor would I do now. I just want him to be better. Glad you've mentioned top two as the aim for next season - I would agree there.
My specific point in my reply to you was in relation to the season as a whole not about today - a one-off like today can be considered unfortunate (and I'm not calling Warne out for today's result in singularity) but this result feeds into a noticeable pattern based on a siezable sample. I don't want to finish 7th again next year & hence this needs to improve.

I'm trying to fathom just how empty, sad, and pathetic someone's life must be for them to watch their team win a game of football on a sunny may day and proceed to go to that team's forum and behave like a complete t***. I actually feel sorry for you at this point.

Btw your 'famous atmosphere' sounded closer to a morgue than a football stadium.

Fine margins? You sure it isn’t something more to do with the 2 wins in 15 games against top half sides under Paul Warne?
There is a reason why our form against the better sides in this league under Warne is pathetic.
You can’t claim fine margins over 15 games.

Can't help but feel that missing a top 6 place is a failure with the team we have. Yes we've had a small squad but we've been pretty fortunate with injuries. Having said that, I feel next season was always going to be what Warne was really going to be judged in so let's see. Let's start bringing in these plan B players, get a full pre season in and see what's happens. If we fail again then we need to start asking questions

The way I read it is I expected this season to be a challenge as it would take new players time to blend. So for Warne to take us from 7th when we were still trying to blend players together to 7th at end of season is a pretty spectacular  failure by Warne.

    Warne has failed this season.

37 matches and we went from 7th to 7th. Richer men than me will decide his fate but he can’t come out of this season with his head held high. The 2 months of relegation form was unacceptable and ultimately cost us.

People might say he couldn’t bring in any players but most season previews I listened to had us finishing top 6 with our squad.

He’ll have my support at the ground next season if he’s in charge which I expect him to be but I wouldn’t be sad if he left.

Warne’s record against top half sides.
    P15 W2 D6 L7
Warne came in at a time when we played crap teams.
Rosenior’s nine games in charge saw us face 7 top half sides in Plymouth, Posh, Barnsley, Wycombe, Charlton, Shrewsbury and Lincoln.
    Warne’s record against bottom half sides is P22 W15 D5 L2
We played a disproportionate amount of bottom half teams under Warne.
He has proven to be a flat track bully who has struggled the moment we have faced anyone decent.
2 wins in 15 is pathetic.
