82 passes completed by Derby. Less than one per minute. Almost indescribably bad

By tore to pieces you mean the purple patch we had in the first half. Overall they had more possession and shots. They had us on the back foot for the start of it and arguably had the best of the second half. Waghorn was clinical last Saturday and the score line flattered us.

Because he's actually a pretty decent technical footballer who has to play as a dogs body defensive mid in this horrible system. I'd give up

We had a mad 20 minutes where everything we touched turned to gold but then spent the second half hacking chances off the line ?

Yep. We’ve barely laid a glove on them. I know things can change quickly, but based on today’s performance there’s zero chance we finish anywhere near Bolton in the table.

I know it’s early in the season but I just don’t believe in Warne - sorry I’d love to have my mind changed but I can’t see it happening.
Yes the ref is poor but he’s not the reason we look so tired and devoid of ideas - it’s awful.

Imagine watching this match and still thinking "the manager is fine, he just needs time".
These people would sit while their house was burning down, seeing if the fire went out by itself.

There’s only one reason: the intransigent, tactically inept, glorified fitness coach we have as a manager. He literally has no other plan or tactic than lumping it.

At least I can go back to saying Warne out.
It was a little difficult after a win at Peterborough, I knew it was a momentary blip.

Bradley categorically should not be making those errors at this stage in his career.

2 absolutely match defining howlers in less than 180 minutes of football is it?

The third division players we play every week don't make these mistakes. So I'm not having that.

Absolutely miles apart. Keogh had a mistake in him every now and then. Playing this bloke is like gifting the other team a goal each game.

We haven't signed a "defensive midfielder" only to use him as a box to box midfielder without protecting the defence, have we?
Just turned into RD for the red card and they're saying we aren't winning midfield, is why I'm asking.

I know people will jump on the negativity but I’m just so jealous of those teams who are set up to quickly move the ball across the floor. Instead we get kick and rush.

31% possession, only shot on target is the penalty and their keeper hasn’t had to make a save. I wasn’t expecting us to win today, or even draw but games shouldn’t feel this one sided against us in the third division.

Did well from A set piece to win the pen and there’s been some good defending in our own box but this performance again has been crap.

Papered over by that absolutely bonkers spell against posh. We can’t string any passes together. Strikers are getting no service from open play.

Put Radcliffe and Barkhuizen on for Smith and Washington and play 433 ffs. This asymmetrical 352/4231 dependent on who has the ball is producing turgid football.

Slightly dumbfounded that the best forward for the league was available for 800K and we weren't in for that.
Where is the money to spend? We sold Knight and Bielik. What was that money used for?  Don't tell me it was to pay off outstanding fees to Lech Poznan because supporters were assured at a charter meeting that there were no outstanding fees to pay before these players were sold.
It leads me to believe that we were in for Jonson Clarke-Harris and that @Big Travwas once again correct in what he was saying. I think our move for him fell through because the Cashin move to Brighton fell through. Trav can confirm or deny that if he wants/knows.
As for his ITKness - people are saying he only knows when someone is in the building...surely the contact he has, who presumably works at the club, is always at the club all the time and is therefore hearing all the time about what the general news on the ground is/what the club are trying to do?
I have been ITK in the past as some people know (my contact left a few years ago now so haven't been for ages) and just because they worked in one particular department didn't mean they didn't regularly hear about who we were wanting to sing/what the general mood was/who the targets were etc.
So, all being said in done, I'm definitely still a Big Trav fan, I feel sorry for him for the pelters he's getting and want to say a big THANK YOU for sharing what info you get on the forum.

Before the final 3 signings I wasn’t confident of a top 6 finish. I’d say that squad is now top 6 worthy.

Top 2? Maybe, but we’re a top striker short for my liking.

It all hinges on TJJ and Fornah for me. If they’re legit and turn out how we want them to, then we will be really good. Without them, we will still just be old and slow.

It definitely seems like we have enough now, perhaps a left wing back and/or right back to balance the options a little is lacking but feel like we have plenty elsewhere. It’s now down to the coaching staff to find solutions within the squad and improve players.
    1) Important to get Sonny Bradley and Callum Elder integrated within the team. Both were brought in to be instrumental first-team players, yet both have looked miles off it since their move. Warne & co need to get a tune out of those two in particular.
    2) Midfield balance - we have a plethora of midfield options and it’s important for us to find the best mix between them all. We have too many good players not to find a solution, but it’s been an Achilles heal so far this season.
    3) Attacking players - we have Martyn Waghorn who has picked up where McGoldrick left off. We need to push Washington and Barkhuizen to see what they can offer, not to mention Sibley and John-Jules who both have an opportunity to push the more senior pros this season. The good news is that if you aren’t scoring or contributing there is an array of options now. We have wingers, attacking kids and strikers in abundance.
    4) Defensive shape - our biggest problem has been the shape of the team defensively, critical mistakes at the worst times have cost us goals already. We don’t have a lot of speed at the back (which is something we probably should’ve addressed) so we need to make sure tactically we’re on point. If Elder and Bradley come good, along with Nelson, Cashin, Forsyth, Rooney, Ward & Wilson. It’s a very good defence.
Honestly, to me, at this level, it feels like we have all the parts. We have a squad now, officially 28 players including the likes of Brown, Robinson, Bardell and Radcliffe. 24 seasoned professionals. It seems like a good mixture. The fact we’ve kept Cashin, to me, states that it’s promotion or bust this season - balls out on the line. The management team are hopefully up to the challenge.
