P.G Wodehouse from the Directors box.
Ah, what a splendid affair it was. If ever Pimms were to host a League 1 day, it would assuredly resemble the festivities witnessed amidst the resplendent performance of the Rams. Oh, the gallant display put forth by the chaps, supported by a throng of bouncing enthusiasts whose fervour knew no bounds!
Picture it, if you will: The Wardrobe, that bastion of attacking fortitude, held steadfastly in its flat-packed splendour, masterfully overseen by the indomitable trio of Cashin, Nelson, and the towering arm waving Sonny Bradley.
And oh, the ecstasy that swept through the air as Gayle, Barkhuizen, and Waghorn graced the pitch with their sublime prowess, each goal a symphony of skill and finesse.
Yet, one cannot help but chuckle at the missed opportunity of young Waghorn, whose errant shot surely would have found the net had it been left to my Charleston partner, deftly balancing a cocktail in her hand.
Ah, but such is the whimsy of fate! Nevertheless, the Rams ascend once more to the lofty heights of second place, a sight to behold indeed! And let us not forget the jolly good fellow, Warne, bedecked in his bobble hat, whose indomitable spirit endured despite a trying week of illness and the untimely tribulation of Bird and his muscular woes. Verily, it was a day to be remembered, a tonic for the soul amidst the tumult of life’s endeavors.

Excellent performance, excellent result & with results elsewhere, a brillant day.
Whilst its fair to say we didn't trouble the keeper too much first 45 mins, I was really pleased with the display. Got the ball down & played some smart stuff, Bristol were very much second best even though the ref was allowing them snidey little trips & then responding to any home crowd noise with decisions their way. The offside goal was a fantastic move, such a shame Gayle (?) strayed slightly. Sibley & Ward again made the 3-4-3 very potent...I enjoyed the football.
Second half we reverted to our typical away style as they picked up the tempo & we just picked them off. 0-3 probably flattered them given the chances we missed. That front 3 of Barkhuizen, Mendez-Laing & Gayle looks so dangerous on the counter and some great decision making/finishing from all 3. Good subs as well, Korey Smith added a measure of control as they were building up a head of steam & Waghorn kept up the forward press intensity. Well done all.
Massive 2 games coming up but keep that line up & level of intensity and we won't go far wrong. COYR 💪

So are you saying you would have preferred Bolton winning tonight who are also above us and would then be 3 points ahead of us even though we still have to play them.
And if you didn’t like tonight’s draw then you would have preferred Barnsley winning tonight who then would have the same points as us, with a game in hand, and if they won that, they would be 3 points ahead of us, but we don’t play Barnsley though.
Surely the draw has enabled us to be just 1 point behind both teams, if Barnsley win their game in hand. And better still if Barnsley lose their game in hand, they are 2 points behind us, or draw it, 1 point behind us.

Was amazed to see how many turned their noses up at him as a prospect. My only concern was whether we could afford him!
Not a long term option, clearly, but right here, right now he's gold dust. Fingers crossed he continues in the same vein as he's begun. Him and Collo in a two upfront would be a thing to see.

Yes, he was. Quality player, just whether we can adapt our play to create chances for him.
I was pleased to see him tearing a strip off NML for not passing to him.
Love our Nate, but he needs the odd reminder!

Thought ward looked fitter than most yesterday, looked quick, sprinted often and made some great tackles. Really impressed

Other than the last 15 - 20 mins of the 1st half that was a really good game and performance. I thought he’d stick with Wilson at RWB but pleased he went for Ward. I was surprised to see Hourihane on the bench again and I do wonder if that might be how he sets up now at home when the onus is on us to attack more.
If Barkhuizen’s early chance goes in to make it 2-0 I think we’d have gone to get 5 or 6. The wingbacks were superb going forward and not really troubled defensively. I think Bradley enjoys being captain. It looks like he thrives under the responsibility and he looks more composed on the ball than earlier in the season.
First game of an important month out the way.

Having spent the first half getting a good view of all of Ward's input in that NE corner, I'd already earmarked him as MOTM... A first for me, due to a lousy attention span and lack of footy knowledge! I just don't normally even consider a MOTM!
My smugness knew no bounds, as it was announced on the PA later. "Wow! I actually do know stuff", I thought to myself. I literally skipped home! 😁
Then I come on here. No other player gets a mention on that topic. It's as if it was a no-brainer. A one horse race. Clear for all to see. Even for the dumbest of fans. 🙄
Needless to say, my smugness has diminished somewhat, and I'm back to conceding I know f all... but it felt great for that hour or so!
Still, at least my blind faith 3-0 prediction held good. I'm on a roll! 💪
Next week, I may even get involved in pre-match line-ups and tactics! 😲

I say Louie is our best attacking central midfielder. But he's never given the opportunity to show it.

Job done, 3 goals, 3 points, 3 cbs with a clean sheet.
Hopefully a turning point in the recent run, I know Port Vale didn’t offer much of a challenge but it’s important to win and we did so in a deserved manner.

I agree. It also makes it harder to 'enjoy' him being our manager, for some anyway. Whatever was thought of Roseniors football style I think you could be sure he wanted to be here and for the Club to achieve things with him.

This is why I suspect he doesn't really 'enjoy' being Derby manager. More pressure, more expectations, less patience. Comes with the territory of managing a good sized club. His whole personality and setup just seems geared towards a club punching above it's weight, not a club expecting more than it currently has.

Let’s end this season all guns blazing. 433, no 3 at the back, one holding midfielder, two in front who can carry the ball and look for forward runs (Thompson & Fornah), moving the ball with pace and purpose. No more over defensive, side to side tripe. First 15 against Charlton showed we have it in us.
Better to go out with a bang than a wimper.

Should have thanked him for his services at the end of last seasons catastrophic collapse.
I honestly think failure to get promotion this year would be catastrophic for this club in so many ways. Look how easy this division is and we are still arsing it up. Imagine if we have clubs like QPR, Huddersfield, Notts County, Wrexham...that's without Reading and Wigan potentially being more stable.

If Warne stays next season I can’t wait to see us played off of the pitch with nice football by Clough’s mighty t Mansfield Town perhaps some might realise then you don’t have to play L1 percentage football to be successful I’ll be watching it on rams tv though because
If Warne is here next season I won’t be travelling on average over 300 miles every game ….44 years since my first game in 1980 of driving up and down the country but no more enough is enough

This is really a must win game for Warne - another performance like last night could see the crowd turn on him. Think he is a decent guy but sadly out of his depth managing a club the size of Derby with the big expectation of the fans.

Here's my problem with it, and this has been the problem more or less all season:
Win or lose, 9 times out of 10, it is just awful to watch.
I think if we don't go up, he has to go. I'm not even convinced I'd like to see him manage us in the Championship, but he'll have earned the right to have a go at least, if we get there.

Chuffed to bits with this. All just feels like things are dropping into place nicely at long last. Derby County, League One Champions... Has a nice ring to it, I reckon.
Thank you Mr Clowes. I'm doffing my cap as I write, you're an absolute star!

I like this a lot even if Collo hadn’t got injured I would have been pleased with this signing
A goalscorer and more importantly a different type of striker …I really wanted us to sign him when he left Newcastle as I’ve always thought he’s a threat
well done DCFC getting this done 👍🏻

I’ve watched the game back in full again and have somewhat changed my mind about things. At the time i thought the team selection was dire and the first half was far from a classic. But looking back now u can see that it really was a battle of attrition and that during that first half it was essential that we just dug in, held our own and gave us good as we got. Which we did and great credit to the lads for that 👏
It’s amazing sometimes how, when the pressure is off and the passion has died down, one can see the game more clearly . That was the case with this one for me.
i came away so proud of the team and can better appreciate what PW did and why. At the time i really didn’t see how much we were pushing after the Smith substitution. So, credit to PW and the fans (who were brilliant).

He is exactly what we have needed for a considerable length of time. Interviews very well too. What a guy. The impact his presence is having on Bird is also very noticeable. As a team they stood up yesterday and I think Stevenage were a little surprised by how strong we were. Long may it continue. Ebooooooooooo

The one thing I won't fault with this squad is effort.
Tactically I'm not a fan a lot of the time, but I won't be questioning their effort.
