I'll reserve my scepticism for the retail baron that never put in an acceptable offer, thanks, and offer my optimism to the fella who's put his money where his mouth is and saved the club.

Some fans need to lower their expectations, Stearman would be decent in league 1. If he stands by us, we should appreciate the  bloke and stand with him. Going into this season on the back foot, with new players to come in and gel, staying up and competing is our primary goal. Anything else would be a bonus.

Things move quickly when people are true to their word, put their money where their mouth is, dont play games and follow through with things they say they would do.
    Amazing that.
Whoever pulls on the shirt next season. Whoever is stood on the touchline. Whoever is paying the wages. They will be doing that for a club i thought would no longer exist.

But the reason Rooney has given is that someone needs a clean slate, not someone who has been involved in the last 2 years.
So why did he only think that in the 2 weeks between the Kirchner bid falling through and us being where we are now?

We need someone who can quickly assemble a squad that will be competitive and fight for each other. Warnock could certainly do that. The only other option for me is Rosenior, if he can retain some of the squad from last year and persuade some of those that Rooney had lined up to still come on trial we might have a decent chance.

If we were to appoint a new manager I’m sure they’d want their own back room staff so we’d end up paying off our current staff which financially might not be possible.

    Big big week ahead.

It might. If it were the case. But
Everything we’ve heard over the last 24 hours suggests that Clowes, Q and the EFL have been talking regularly, that the EFL are happy with Clowes as owner. There’s been nothing from the EFL that suggests we are due a points deduction or anything from Q. And why would a Derby fan spending millions putting his club back together do a deal that starts our season on -15? It would make no sense.
Rooney’s spent much of the last few weeks on holidays with his family. He might have enjoyed being with them, missed being with them and not looked forward to coming back to another difficult season, which it probably will be Clowes or not. He seemed to like CK, wanted Stretford and Cook around him, probably wanted to have started the rebuild a few weeks ago, has probably missed out on some targets he had lined up. Maybe some of the players he wanted to stay have said they’re not. Maybe it’s simply that he just doesn’t have the energy it needs as a result. Something a new manager, Rosenior or not, should have in spades.

Are we not allowed just one day of positive news?  I’m still shaking my head with his timing.

I absolutely expect Rosenior to get the job and I would be happy to see him get it.
HOWEVER, if he didn’t, my next choice would be Jody Morris. I’d love to see him back, exceptional coach.
Failing that, McClaren, Terry or Warnock.
Dyche or anyone in a job is completely pie in the sky.

Seems like Rooney quite as soon as he knew Kirchner wasn’t getting the club for certain then. Definitely got to be something in that, it’s the only logical explanation for the timing. He was clearly only willing to stay around with his agent on the board. That always felt dodgy as f***, so this might actually be a good thing.

Absolutely this. Weed out the non hackers so we know who we want in to take the club forward.
Still appalled by the timing of the announcement on the same day we get a bit of postive news.
Seems extremely self indulgent or dare I say even narcissistic.

I know it's still early days but this is the first time since the whole Gabay drama that I feel like the sale of the club and exit from administration is actually going to happen. Really excited, brighter days ahead!

Just read David Clowes’s statement with tears in my eyes. Brilliant, has a ring of class,  humility and sincerity. We are emerging from the darkness…

Absolutely made up by this news. Clowes Developments have seen the potential in Pride Park with that purchase and i wouldn't be surprised if the Plaza idea comes back in to the reckoning once stability has returned.
What we need now is the players to return on Monday and Rooney to confirm that he is happy with future plans. Then let the fun begin with the free transfers arriving!!
So excited for these next few weeks!!

I didn't realise how much this was affecting me. I was convinced I wasn't that bothered. I've lost my grandmother last week and have other issues and thought there were more important things in life.
I'm not too ashamed or masculine to admit that after reading those Clowes press release snippets on Twitter, I realised my eyes had welled-up a little and I have let out a massive sigh. I now want to have a celebratory drink and put this nightmare behind me.
I am however realistic enough to know that the football side could well be a struggle for a few years, and I have no expectations, but to know that my home-city club, a club I followed home and away for most of my adult life, a club that I committed thousands of pounds to over the years, a club that has made me laugh, smile, groan and sob, will continue to exist means a lot to me personally.
    Cheers boys and girls.

Hs is a North Stand Season Ticket Holder. Not a Corporate Box, Not a Directors Box, Not a West Stand ticket holder - he sits in the North Stand despite his wealth.
That shows me everything I need to know about him. It's not about fame or limelight unlike others.
