Newcastle fans are delusional when evaluating Ashley’s tenure. I am genuinely perplexed when they say he never ‘invested’ in the club:
    He purchase the following:
    Joel Linton £40m
    Joe Wilock £25m
    Almiron £21m
    Calum Wilson £20m
    Saint Maximin £17m
    Florian Thauvin £15m
    Jamal Wilson £15m
    Wijnaldum £15m
    Mitrovic £15m
The way he ran Newcastle enabled them to attract their new owners as they are in a position of stability and attract wealthy investors thanks to the way he ran their club. Same will probably happen at West Ham.

Ashley in for me, no brainer.
On a side note, glad Kirchner is out the picture. Ridiculous how he declared his intentions early and made it public when he did. Clearly couldn’t match rival bidders and tried to convince us that it was the administrators not him. He couldn’t admit he wasn’t the preferred choice. From the start I knew it wouldn’t work out given how he behaved and the way Derby fans were swooning over him was embarrassing!

    Oh well, nearing a conclusion.

Best bit of Derby news this year. I am confused as to some fans view that he is a 'good player'. I've said it once and i'll say it again.. He has one half decent season at a very poor Ipswich team. When you look at his goals at Ipswich they were mostly just lucky worldies and he was just smashing them in from 30 yards out. There's no skill or finesse in that he is literally just twatting the ball as hard as he can. Anyway, that convinced Mel to fork out millions on him. When you look at his career he hasn't done much all, certainly not in a Derby shirt.
Infuriating to watch, greedy, undisciplined, and generally lacks quality. The amount of wreckless yellow cards he gets is ridiculous for a winger. His assist/goal return has been atrocious.
I can't help but put my head in my hands when we have a free kick and he is standing over it like Ronaldo. In his head he's thinking 'GoInG 2 KnUcKle BaLL ThIs ToP CoRNa LaDss'. Ends up in Row Z without fail.
Get rid, fell off my chair when I read he was on £37k a week for a mediocre championship winger. Or is he a winger or a 10 don't even know anymore. Captain as well, Jesus.
(awaits comments: 'he's got the quality just inconsistent' sigh...

Ive said it many times. I was told to give him time...blah blah blah...whatever i said before i stand by it x10. The lad is poor. Technically rubbish. He runs around alot and that is it. Did you see him receive the ball out on the right mid way thru first half and his mis control looked like he actually passed it to their player??? Anybody trying to defend this player now is in denial. He will be sold in January. Leave him out the side.

It doesn't matter if he played well against England once. It doesn't matter if he does well for Poland regularly. It doesn't matter if he's the greatest player on the planet.
If he doesn't fit with our way of playing football and cannot adapt to what he's being asked to do, then he's not much value to us. He might go on and do well elsewhere, it doesn't matter to us. It's about what he has shown here, in this setup with this set of managers and players. And unless you're suggesting we start again and build a team and style of play around him, then getting some money in and putting it to best use into areas of the team that need it sounds like a good plan to me.
I think he's ok, I don't think he's anything particularly special and he doesn't bring anything to the team that others don't. I don't buy into this argument that he's somehow hard done to and neither do I see any spark that makes me think if we tweaked this or that he'd somehow be much better. He's had plenty of opportunities and he's shown himself to be a reasonable player in a reasonable team, same as most of the squad really.

Played in Steve McClaren's 2013-2015 teams he'd be very good in the (massively undervalued) Dawkins role, where you could get away with not being the most direct of players and always had good passing options on. Playing him in a team where he's got absolutely no support whatsoever and basically telling him to hold the ball up with defenders up his arse it's hardly a surprise he isn't performing.
We play a system which is all about the full backs getting up the pitch, the 'winger' is just a support player. On the right he often linked up well with an overlapping Byrne (not that anyone appreciated it), on the left he's got Buchanan.
For all Buchanan's qualities he isn't much of a link-up player. He's far more likely to ignore the option of a one-two designed to create space and instead just try to run all the way with it himself, leaving his supporting player with no real role to play other than trying to win the ball back should the full back lose it.
That's seen as Jozwiak 'doing nothing' because he hasn't pushed forward. He's stayed back to cover, but then he then gets criticised for not defending well enough (which may itself be fair) so really, he can't win - he ends up in no-man's land going forward and going backwards.
As I said a few months back, there's absolutely no point in Jozwiak staying because we do absolutely nothing to help him play his natural game; on top of that as soon as he steps on the pitch you've got a whole bunch of anti-support types waiting with bated breath for him to make an error so that they can (once again) single him out for criticism, often with disproportionate criticism to that which they'll dish out to other players

I'd like to publicly apologise for wanting Jóźwiak to be a good player. It looks like I've fallen into the trap of supporting the team and the players.
I shall revert to slagging him off as a failure. That's bound to help. With a bit of luck we can destroy his confidence, ruin his abilities and fail to get a good return on him when we sell him on.
Does that sound like a good plan?

So obvious that was going to happen.
I don’t blame Buchanan, it’s the manager who thinks we can play like Barcelona with this joke possession play. It was going to happen sooner or later. Why Rooney thinks we have the quality that can play with this possession based style in tight spaces is beyond me. This is the championship for god sake.
    Remnants of Cocu ball this.

we will concede similar goals if Rooney insists we play like this. Players simply do not have the quality to implement his style.

What are peoples views on this? Countless times I have watched us with a narrow lead with only 10 minutes to go and we make a substitution. Whether that be a defensive player coming on, or a like for like swap. I personally hate it. Bringing a defensive player on just invites pressure and encourages the opposition to attack. A like for like switch gives the oncoming sub little time to adapt and get into the swing of things. Likely they are feeling added pressure as well. It probably takes a player at least 10 minutes for a player to get a feel for the ball/tempo, but when they are bought on with 10 minutes to go then it is difficult for them. I think this is what happened to Joz yesterday.

I personally feel it is only merited if there is an apparent injury/fatigue issue, or the lead is out of sight. It always seem when we are defending a narrow lead that these Subs are made and then it goes completely wrong. I’m not just saying it’s Derby, I’ve seen other teams do it as well. For me the team that has established the lead should see the game out, as they have had a feel for the game, the opposition, and the tempo. Rather than just chucking someone on and expecting them to immediately immerse themselves into how the game is being played. Added pressure and upsets the balance IMO?
