I don’t like to get carried away, but a good few of our players are clearly a level above League One level.
If we start the season with midfield options of Bird, Knight, Hourihane and Bielik then that’ll be the strongest set in the league and better than a good few Championship sides too.
The wide players could be among the best too. Much may depend on whether we can get a tune from them.
We have solid centre-backs. 
I’d still like us to bolster our attacking options and fullbacks.

Yeah my post was a bit of a fail, not sure what went on there.
I wrote Knight rotating with Sibley and at the same time rotating with Bielik and Bird. ?
What I meant was Bielik and Bird rotating.
Knight and Sibley rotating.

I’m expecting us to lose. 
 
He’s bringing in a complete new squad and they’re going to need to adjust and gel.

My heads honestly gone that we’ve managed to sign Chester and Hourihane never mind Mcgoldrick. 
 
I’m still managing expectations in my head but it’s just nice to not have to watch a bunch of 18 year olds being fed to the wolves week in week out despite how spirited and great they were.

Okay, I like Lee Buchanan and think he's a useful footballer. I have no problem with him wanting to better himself at a bigger club.
However, he has been with Derby County since 2010. That's 12 years of us training him, feeding him, educating him and helping him generally to develop to where he is in now in the game. We protected him from the limelight after Joinersgate, when he was injured for several months. 
He has cost us a lot of money, not just in wages.
He is still a young man and might have a very bright future ahead of him, not least due to the investment received from Derby County.
For his agents not to recognise this and to use a legal technicality to try and wriggle out of the industry wide compensation clause for academy investment is very disappointing,  in my opinion.

Understandable that Sunday was a quiet day signing wise. Do we expect another big splurge today or do we think they’ll just be drip fed in to the club now? 
 
I’m hoping for splurge not just because it’s exciting but because we need them in the door asap listening to Roseniors ideas

Abdul Camara was fast but couldn’t get the ball to reach the penalty box when taking a corner ?

I’d sell Byrne if someone offered okay money and try and get Odebajo in on a free. I’d sell Buchanan for the right money because it doesn’t feel like he ever bought into us like other players have. It’s a shame but Bielek is going to be on loan somewhere else as he’s already shown he’s the best player in this division when he was at Charlton. 
I like the sound of Barkhuizen, Hourihane and Chester to fill some of those roles we need filling - on the right money of course.

Didn’t realise just how much it had affected me until the relief flooding in. 

They’re currently earning 0pw aren’t they? 

Thankfully we’re under a business plan so we can’t sign loads on silly money. Clowes also seemed sensible and not the type to throw money at it. 
 
I think we’ve got a good core of young players: Cashin, Carlos, Thompson and a few others who were training with the first team last season. We’ll also have the more established younger players: Buchanan (lawyers permitting), Bird, Knight, Sibley. 
 
We have a fair few players for the future if we can hold on to most of the above listed. What we need for the league one battle is players for now. This is why I’m not worried about the ages of some of the players we are linked with.

A big big couple of weeks. Hopefully 2/3 loans * a couple of younger players out of contract from league 1 or 2 (we still have the pull of being derby) and then 5/6 more experienced pros looking for one last project rather than a retirement home. This would give the right mix needed for the now and the next few seasons.
