Totally agree. He conducted himself well, imbued a fighting unified spirit in players and fans alike. That and a few flashes of old magic reminded us occasionally that he’d been some player in his pomp. I don’t think I have ever heard fans shout so loud in support when we went behind and were battered and bruised.

This is what I don't get about football! How can you give someone a new contract in December and 6 months later say their football is not the right kind of football and sack them? 

I’m going to really miss league one. Not because of the iffy refs or the poor football. But because it feels more like a meritocratic league, like football used to be and how it should be across the board. A good manager and some good players can do well in it without bags of cash. It’s not just 4 or 5 monopolists and then also rans - every season the same like the prem and to an extent the champ - you can go on a run and make a difference. 

and also I think the online world of football fandom can sometimes be quite corrosive and (unintentionally) cruel - this forum included. Not the individual spats about ‘should Warne stay or go’,  or ‘is Sibley a star or failure’ etc, but more that we all fill in huge gaps of time in between actual football matches with speculation and conjecture which, often creates nothing but arguments, doubts among the players, and can be reductive towards staff and even the local reporters - usually based upon very little information or experience but just the need to individually transmit. 

Niall Horan stopped caring over the past couple seasons but I'll welcome him back because I think it's funny when Derby County social media posts are liked by random people all over the world who don't even know who we are

They could, although in 07/08 Notts County had an average attendance of 4,732. Even if you combine the two leaves you with 25,010.
Still 2,259 fewer than Derby. 
You would need to add Mansfield Towns 2,821 average figure for that season to swing the numbers in their favour.

We don’t know the reason for it but Daniel just stopped breathing in his sleep. The ambulance crew got a very faint heartbeat, so he went onto life support in ICU but he died two days later. Nothing showed up on hospital tests or the digital autopsy, so the coroner stated natural causes. He had a cold prior to it but had said he was feeling better. It seems that he would felt very little if anything when he stopped breathing, which is some comfort. The night before he had been at the Crewe away match and had fish and chips for his dinner. I’m glad he was doing something he loved on his last evening. Today is very tough 💔

B4 was Daniel Beavis. A lifelong DCFC supporter who died suddenly in November, just hours after attending the Crewe away match. He was only 38 and had held a season ticket for almost 30 years. B4 was his username on this forum where he was well know for his unique take on all things DCFC and his kindness to others. Despite the situation of the club or inconsistency of results, he was unbelievably positive. Dan had learning difficulties and despite what he may have typed on here at times, he was actually quite vulnerable and his world was quite small. His whole world revolved around his beloved Derby County. His death has been a shock to us but his passion and love for DCFC has left an effect on many who knew him, in person or virtually. He was also my brother.
