Except I'm not 'Rooney Out', I'm giving Rooney a fresh slate to prove himself...
Let's not pretend he's shown much promise so far though; Bielik is who kept us up. The 'double standards' comment is that despite remarkable similarities, you won't criticise Rooney for EXACTLY what you criticised Cocu for- constantly changing the team, overly-defensive/slow build up, poor substitutions. The only real difference is that Rooney had better players at his disposal.
It's just astonishing to see you so willfully defend Rooney in a way that you directly criticised anyone that did the same for Cocu. For what it's worth, I really hope Rooney succeeds, despite being fairly critical of him so far.

The true irony being that the mitigating factors he lambasted people for using to defend Cocu, he's now using for Rooney...
Lets face facts: Rooney chopped and changed the team more than Cocu, his managerial record is weaker despite having better players at his disposal (Bielik, CKR, Lawrence), and tactically he's more concerned with the opposition than even Cocu was...
Calling him out on the laughable double standards is more than warranted

I think you need to get a bit of perspective and context on this Angie Ram. Revisit Roy Mac’s posts in the Cocu Out thread and the baiting that went on there. There was no respect for those that wanted to give him more time, no respect at all for other view points. We were actually ridiculed at times. Challenging hypocrisy and double standards isn’t trolling and is not baiting. It’s looking for an explanation to the views on Rooney that he keeps making that he can’t justify when challenged. Roy Mac could put an end to it in 2 minutes but he chooses not to ?

    No, that’s not true.
Rooney did well to begin with. I have gone on record multiple times saying that he deserves credit for that.
The trouble is the manner of our implosion since spring-time overshadows all of that.
It showed us exactly what the initial run was - a flash in the pan and wildly unsustainable.
You would have more people in agreement with you if Rooney had managed even a fairly modest return in the final weeks of the season and had us ending the season in relative comfort compared to what actually transpired.

Roy, with all due respect, you’re hardly the best person to question what is going on inside someone’s head.
You’re still in full support of Rooney after months of drab, listless football, 1 win in 15 games, and going from nine points clear of the relegation zone to within mere minutes of relegation to League 1, and having to rely on the intervention of other teams to stay up.
What’s going on in yours? ?

I think I've said this before. No disrespect and all, but it much be really grim inside your head to be so negative about our situation.

Mate you are such a hypocrite ? What pre season did Cocu get on taking over from Big Frank ? I realise it’s gone on too long now for you to save face, but keep the Wazza love in going, it does bring a smile to my face and make me larf during these troubled times..I alternate reading your pro Wazza posts with old DVDs of the Likely Lads..so funny ???

God, Roy, you and some of your Pro-Rooney troop really do such a good of finding the common ground with people that don't share your opinion. I really can't understand why you lot don't win us all over.

Surely you must have expected better than what Cocu produced when you were calling for his head eh...that he has failed to do..but you still brown nose him...bizarre to say the least ??

Great interview with Sibley after the game. Criminal that he hasn’t played more in the ‘10’ position.
I’m not having this as Rooney being proved correct in his motivation for Sibley. Apparently he’s not been involved due to conceding silly free kicks and being too desperate to make an impression. What do you expect when he has 10-15 mins a game out of position? You build teams around Sibley, he’s that good. Hopefully we see more of that in the remaining games and Rooney sticks to that second half formula. With Roberts, Sibley and Lawrence we will hurt teams.
Sibley has a nasty side to him, I love that about him. I remember an U18 game vs Arsenal, we smashed em and Sibley celebrates the winner in front of an Arsenal defender, goading him. I’m sure Sibley has learnt a lesson these past few days, I hope Rooney has learnt a bigger one.

I don't agree with the Jozwiak criticism. What is he, or any winger we have meant to do in this system we're playing? No space to operate in, no supporting runs, no movement, no one to cross to.

How can my comments perpetuate any problem. They are purely my opinions and have absolutely no influence on anybody else unless they are weak minded and easily led!! I do , however, concede that week in week out is an exaggeration but there are players on that pitch who get considerably more game time than others and IN My OPINION are less deserving of it than Sibley. Enjoy your evening.

Wayne was absolutely correct. Sibley has not done anywhere enough for a long time. 19 isn't young in football.

Exactly this. A quick "whoop" is used a lot in basketball for this reason too.
On another note: Think I'm going to get Kazim on the back of a shirt next season

is that true? I thought the last we'd heard the financial plans were messed up because of the expectation that the takeover would be completed by Xmas eve. I thought the inference was this was being rectified and it wasn't an issue of cashflow?

McGoldrick? That's true and yet Blades fans rave about him. If a new striker helps others score more goals, that's often as useful (if not more) than buying a striker you reply on for goals

The thing I can't get my head around is this: was Keogh seriously expecting us to pay him £2 million for a period where he couldn't play due to an accident which he contributed to (not wearing a seatbelt)?
Even the reduced offer of £1m (£12.5k a week) is extremely generous when the insurance will not cover non-footballing injuries. Why refuse that?
Up until now, I have never questioned his passion nor commitment to the club, but if that's to be believed, it's his own petulance that has landed him in this position. Why should the club be expected to pay for Keogh's own negligence in keeping himself fit to honour the terms of his contract?
