Thing is we keep talking about bids and how much or what we are worth or what the stadium is worth, or the price is too high .or HMRC need paying or MSD have a debenture .. it really really doesn’t matter in finance terms. The only thing a bid needs to be is something that offers the creditors more than liquidation. .. yes we will get -15 and all the heartbreak that entails but realistically you could buy Derby tomorrow as long as what you pay is more than anyone else and more than what the house clearance people will offer.

Friday 1st April is pivotal in the history of DCFC from what has been written by Percy et al. If it transpires we don't have a PB that comes up to the valuation (and it seems that may be the case)and Q have gone to the nth degree, then MM and Pearce will be the most despised people not only in Derby and Derbyshire but in homes all across the country, and around the world. Chelsea takeover will be put in the background whilst our demise will be all over Sky. Money, as so many have said in the past, has ruined this beautiful game. Greedy agents and some greedy players have taken our money and run. Very very sad tonight for everyone affected, including my son and myself. It's like sitting at the side of a bed where you are watching someone so precious to you ebbing away in front of eyes and you can't do anything about it. Please Mel DON'T LET THIS MAGNIFICENT CLUB DIE - I BEG YOU!!!

As far as I’m concerned it’s the combination of factors that’s killed us.  Without the EFL investigation dragging on for years, especially with the nonsense over the stadium sale, we probably get sold 2 years ago. The admins reckon COVID has cost us £30m-£40m of income, without that loss, we probably don’t end up in admin.  And you can find any number of things to pin on Morris.  Any 2 of those and we’re probably OK, but all 3 at the same time…

Sorry, I obviously wasn't making myself clear.
My understanding is that Mel does indeed personally owe £20m+ on the stadium, rather than the club, however the bidders want him to settle that himself, regardless of any bid they put in, then gift them the stadium, for nothing,  in return for injecting the minimum required, around £30m, to keep the club alive, even with a deduction to start next season.
Fair enough, it's a further haircut he should make in the circumstances, but he's possibly looking to make sure it's in the long term benefit of the club, rather than the clubs new owners.
I was merely speculating that he may prefer guarantees that the new owners will not in the future divorce the ground from the club that plays in it.
After all, to take over a club that in the last published accounts generated around £30m of income, and to be debt free in the process, while only spending 1 years of income in its acquisition, would be a bargain, relatively speaking.

Why do so many posters on here never see the big positive of DCFC and that is our income potential of c£30m per annum? So many look at the costs as if they are not/cannot be offset. Outside the Prem we have one of the best income potentials.
People say we will have the costs of assembling a new squad. True. But we will not be paying fees (I doubt). The future for most Clubs ATM will be frees and out of contracts on much lower wages than we have seen in the past. Even if in the Champ next year I would be amazed if the average player sal at DCFC is not below £10k.
We can be run in the foreseeable future, within our income or very close.
If the stadium issue is resolved to the satisfaction of a bidder, and IF we avoid the -15 points our future can be fairly positive even if we start the next chapter in L1

It appears that people are queuing up to pay £3bn for Chelsea who lost £145M last year, in a year where they finished towards the top of the premier league and won the Champions League, there's not much more they can do to improve their turnover.
At least with Derby, there is plenty of scope for improving their profitability. If Derby could reduce their overheads to that of preston, then we would be well in profit if we maintained our current turnover.

When MM took on the Club he got the stadium ownership BUT with a 20m mortgage. I fail to see why a new owner would not see buying the Club with stadium for 30m and refinance  the mortgage on better terms would not be a favourable option. Someone like Ashley would get a fairly good rate I feel sure.

He could get a better rate by loaning the £22m to the club to buy the stadium and charging the interest himself.

If some of MMs money is used to oil the wheels for the deal to go through and avoid the 15 points I’m not sure why people would then withdraw their support of the Club. I thought most wanted him to cough up in some way? And if as a result he retained a % or shareholding then so be it. Some Clubs have and are still bank rolled by Dodgy Russian money or Saudi government cash. Why should we be ashamed to have a local who want to at least try to right his past mistakes

Really? When you look at who is and has been involved in football club ownership including some of our past owners then MM is a million miles from the worst. He made mistakes and decided he could no longer afford the cost of haemorrhaging cash. That is what he is guilty of. Get a sense of perspective.
