Sibley had a really good game at their place last season and scored in the same fixture at the end of the season before so I would be tempted to be staring him. His confidence should be high after his U20 call up as well.

I don’t know if this is true or not but in years gone by there seemed to be a bigger executive at the club and they probably provided the local press/media with info they wanted to leak if there was conflict. It appears to be a closed shop now between Morris and Pearce and it appears Rooney isn’t kept in the loop either.

Just a word on Max Bird. Last season I thought his game moving forward was good but how he managed his positioning off the ball and how he tracked players running off him needed work. He has improved this massively and has been IMO our best player this season so far.

He definitely has improved in those areas. In the first 2 games I felt it was almost hindering him as an attacking threat, he was playing very safe. I've not watched the last 2 games, if he's now finding that balance, which it sounds like he did today, then that is great news.
Was my pick for “surprise package” this season, there is a very good player in there.

Bird was excellent, Balldock gave us something different, Jags /Davies partnership was  immense, Stearman came up with a Russell Anderson like cameo at the end and the snippets of link up play between Joz, Sibley and Morrison could see us getting a bit of a  creative spark back in the team. Add Bielik in the mix and we could do alright.
