    Same keeper

    Same back four

We could have selby at left side of midfield and max bird right side shinnie sitting behind them.

Play macgoldic and knight togather upfront if not dobbin or ozzlair.

Selby would keep it nice and tight out on that left side. Give nothing away, a very tactical player

  2. I didn’t want Shinnie here last time, certainly don’t want him back. He’s just a little dog running after a ball. We have way better players than him in midfield areas. We need another central defender and a right back. The right back would free up Smith for midfield and he is better than Shinnie. Most of all we need a better striker than Collins

Sibley what a difference a few weeks make! he was only recieving 3, 4 and 5 with his bit part cameo role, now he is playing regular and his confidence is back he recieves mostly marks of 7 and he his playing out of position, delighted for the lad.

When does playing in a position week in week out stop being 'playing out of position'? Before Warne came he hardly got a game and it looked like he was finished at Derby and would have to move on. Warne has shown faith in him and as you say, playing regularly has increased his confidence. It will have improved his fitness as well

  4. Knight played in midfield at Bolton. It was OK but not a sudden massive change for the better. I'm not a fan of Hourihane at all and would love to see him replaced. He doesn't do enough and drifts into a wide left position too often leaving Bird to do too much

Some find it hard to believe that EFL’s restrictions would permit us to be loss making. But thinking about it, after the Kirch fell off his perch we were looking down a barrel - so perhaps the EFl agreed a favourable deal out of fear of being blamed for our demise. DC would have had a pretty strong hand in that negotiation

If we are loss making then so is every other club in this division and most of them to a much greater degree

Stumbling upon the Forsyth/Cashin combination has helped out the midfield a great deal, as they aren't absolutely destoryed for pace & ftness when left exposed by our lack of a dedicated defensive midfielder. It's certainly helped stop all of the penalty claims against us.

Smith being a very much a 'defense only' RB has also helped our backline's ability to keep the ball out. I'm not sure it'd be the same if we had a more attacking RB and/or went back to back to 3 CBs (where Cashin & Forsyth both look less comfortable).

Trouble is we just know he will back to 3 at the back and wing backs as soon as he possibly can. I'd much sooner he stuck with a back 4 and 3 in midfield

You can get a good team from that list.

                                  Boulton

    Webster     McFarland      Todd     Forsyth C

                                     Williams

                      Durban                  Gemmill

                Sturridge        Hector           Hinton

I’d have Mike Forsyth over Craig

We were the better team and had two clear penalties not awarded, plus we hit their bar. But we lack attacking thrust. Why? We play our most attacking, creative, dangerous midfielder at left back, leaving a perfectly respectable left back on the bench, and then play three one-paced midfielders in the middle (yes Jason Knight joins Hourihane and Bird with that tag as he looks lost at the moment). Fozzy was immense, but if Warne refuses to play Roberts at left back we desperately need Fozzy there, so we can put Sibley in midfield and put Hourihane or Bird on the bench. I'd say Hourihane. The one thing he has been good for is distance shooting, yet today he had a clear shot 20 yards out for a few seconds with on one closing him down, but turned it down and played a soft pass out wide. WTAF? Then, yet another good chance missed (didn't even connect!) by Dobbin from one yard out. He has to go back in January. One great thing about today is the confidence we can have with Wildsmith in goal. Even in the driving rain with a slippery ball, I felt Bolton would not beat him if we played for a week. Some on here saying Bolton had a decent chance (Charles?) which they did, but had the shot been anywhere inside the post, Wildsmith had it covered.

Left back or left wing back is Sibley's position now. Get used to it. My opinion anyway is he's terrific in that position and getting better every week

  9. We have numbers but if I were the manager I would look at our centre backs and think Curtis(37), Chester(35), Stearman(38)  and Forsyth (36) then Cashin(20) and Rooney(18) is not something to rely on. I'd be looking to bring in someone in his mid 20's and I would be amazed if Warne doesn't do that. We are really strong elsewhere in the team, but that's the weakness. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Curtis doesn't go off to join Rosenior in any case, but even if he doesn't, lets face it he's past it now. Chester is just a crock, we can't rely on him. We have been really lucky that Forsyth has been able to step up to the plate so well

We need a winger too. This guy is versatile, having played CM, AM, LW, RW and CF so far this season for their U21s

I don't think we need a winger. We only need defenders unless key players leave in the window and have to be replaced

Listening to BBC Humberside recently, they've been making a case for Rosenior to come in and pinch our better players. Their presenters and fans are very keen to "gamble" on the likes of Knight, Cashin and Bird - one caller said to throw £1m our way as League One players are only worth £100k so we should be very grateful for the extra in our time of need. Many want McGoldrick as they reckon we outdid ourselves in the summer and can't afford any of the wages so need to give everyone away before going bust. Hence why we gave Rosenior away as we couldn't afford him permanently. That's the rhetoric they're believing anyway! ?

We will be swopping divisions with them at the end of the season. I really don't think we need fear being preyed on by any championship club to be honest, certainly not one like them

  12. I thought he was excellent yesterday. The fact that Warne is playing him instead of Roberts speaks volumes I think. I would say that playing left back in 4 will be the hardest thing for him to get used to because it’s a pure defensive position BUT it will stand him in good stead when we move to 3-5-2 because a wing back is a hybrid position with some defensive responsibilities but a lot more requirement to get up and down the pitch. That’s when Sibleys energy and ability on the ball will come to the fore. The experience he is getting as a left back will give him the experience he needs in the defensive aspects of the position. So in essence what I’m saying is that Warne is developing him to play left wing back
