Does anyone still not think that the awful refereeing decisions are strangely one-sided?

Law of averages we just can’t keep getting shafted by officials every week and it’s not just the big decisions in the game it’s the little fouls the opposition get then 30 secs later the same kind of foul on our players and the Refs wave play on. It can’t just be poor officials as these things would even out and they’re clearly not.

This thread needs more posts! I wasn't a big believer but I am now.

    Shinzzaa! #COYR

I must admit in the past I’ve thought he’s a limited footballer but we really missed him on Weds and him and Bird are building a good partnership.

Yes he could. He's young and inexperienced. Not all the youngsters thrown in the deep end swim.

I’m not saying throw him in regardless I’m saying he’s a option and who knows he could be anything ? It’s worth a punt in my opinion even if it’s 20 mins here and there.

He's banging the goals in because he was sent back to the U23s to do that! He wasn't looking like doing it for the 1st team. So goal-scorers need to be scoring - it makes them tick. Lol.

If we have to keep dipping him back in the under 23s fine but we need goals and he looks like a decent bet at the moment he simply can’t be any worse than our current options.

Here you go @derbydaz22 hardly my problem if you challenge me and haven't read my posts.

That’s 4 days after you said you wouldn’t go with Stretton??  For what it’s worth I thought Baldock played ok today but we have a young lad banging goals in for the under 23s so let’s at least have him on the bench.

I'd have Baldock and Stretton, you forgot that bit.

I didn’t forget I didn’t see you mention it you said it might do Stretton more harm playing and Baldock had more experience. I would sooner see Stretton have more game time as hopefully he could be the striker we are crying out for.

Perhaps it's not fair on Stretton, we've seen what a struggle it can be for youngsters last season.

Baldock has the experience and will deal better with being berated if things don't go right.

    No mention of playing together

Why would Stretton be getting berated?

Oh come on. One is an experienced striker signed for peanuts because he's going through a poor spell. The other is an inexperienced young striker who needs more leeway than we can give him in our situation.

I would much sooner give Stretton  game time from what I’ve seen of the two this season

Thought the positioning of our attacking players was all over the place in both defence(when pressing) and when transitioning from defence to attack, we seemed unbalanced and I'm not sure about the 4231 formation that we started out with.  Think a 442 or a 433 with Knight, Bird and Morrison in the middle would work better. Shinnie doesn't have me convinced with his lack of ability transitioning the play from back to front. Can't rely on Bird too much.

Also would add that Bird was absolutely class today and has improved alot from last season, I used to be abit unsure on him but today has won me over.

Bird has been class all season.

  11. I think Fozzy is a confidence player a few mistakes and groans early on seem to affect him more than most but I’m glad to see him playing well and getting recognition from our fans he’s been a very good servant to Derby over the years and rarely gets the run around from wingers.

Only in as much as the club will be sold to the highest bidder, that will be the only scrutinisation, please do not think administrators are nice people. they are not, they are scum, as I have stated previously they are jackals.

That’s the 1st thing I thought they won’t think who’s the best owners for our future they will sell to the highest bidder who could be borrowing money or God knows what.

  14. I think after being deducted 12 points if the EFL continue with another possible 9 point deduction they are making the club unsaleable ? Is that what they really want as a Governing body? Teach Derby a lesson? Sending a club like ours to the wall? If we get new owners and let’s hope we do they can’t punish them for Mel’s actions surely?

Am I the only one who remembers the club stating cocu had agreed not to take his pay (or take it reduced?) or was that a classic case of what someone mentioned above, where something gets said and then it’s passed on as fact? Or is this 4M or so the reduced version as stated at the time?

Or is all this just a BAD DREAM?!

Yes I remember at the time the club said he did the honourable thing and the pay off was on reduced terms.

MM said that it is the ambitious clubs with bigger revenues who are worst hit by COVID, not the ones with parachute payments or clubs promoted from league 1. He also said , I think, that of the last 9 clubs promoted to the Premier League, only 2 would have complied with Championship FFP limits.

This is football in the championship in a nutshell,if you want to compete which 9 clubs getting parachute payments and your a club of our size showing ambition you are going to incur losses or just drift along hoping for a miracle every couple of decades. Football is broken.

honestly I have reached the point that the punishment doesn’t matter .. we will be wherever we land, right or wrong. The thing that’s toughest is not knowing. I also get the feeling we will end up with penalties that go on for 3 seasons. I see no integrity, rationale or proportion in any of that.

You broke the rules .. take your punishment. Correct.

But if the rules are so badly drawn that punishment is disproportionate and dribbled out for years it is as disgraceful as it is unsporting.

what is going to be interesting over the coming months is how many other clubs face sanctions and deductions. There is no way on earth that every other champ club is squeaky clean. Then what does a league table look like. It’s a farce.

I said the same to my son this morning if the EFL treat everyone the same which they obviously don’t I bet 1/2 of the division isn’t squeaky clean so it should look a farce but I bet it doesn’t and it will be just cheating Derby minus x amount of points.

Wow. What a day. It was special. A day I will never forget. 17,000 Derby fans but it may as well have been 30,000 such was the noise and every fan 100% behind the team and the coaching staff.

Then the game. What a performance. Some superb counter attacking and glimpses of real quality. Ravel at times today (especially in the first half) was equal to Stefano Eranio   with those passes in the box, magical. Stunning goal from Max Bird who was also outstanding in the first half (what a player he is). Baldock should’ve scored, Ravel should’ve scored, we should’ve been 3-0 up and out of sight but then the Ince goal made it nervy. That said never had any doubts we would close it out. To a man the players were superb today and showed they care. Likewise Rooney and Rosenior.

I was in tears at full time, so proud of all of them and for the fans unbelievable support of them. It felt like we’re in this together. duck the rest of the football world, duck Mel Morris, no bitching about 3 wins in 20 odd and Rooney isn’t the right man. Everyone backing the team backing the coaches backing the club, backing each other - as one. It was truly special.

Its to be a part of days like today is why I’m a football fan and why I love this club so dearly. It will be a bumpy road but if we stick together we will come back stronger!!

    COYR!! ?????????

Totally agree me and my son felt very emotional today at the game and the atmosphere and the togetherness took me back to the 80s at the BBG and although my love for football in general is not what it was with sky tv etc my love for the Rams burns as strong as ever and it’s going to be a bumpy ride but if we can stick together as a club and a fan base like today we can still look forward to better times. ???

Think a lot of people are readjusting their views today. Can we confess in one safe place??

I kinda said all along Mel was spending unnecessarily and at inflated prices but that's not to say I was complaining.

However, got to hold my hands up and say Rooney has acted with a lot of class today. Said all the right things....for him to find out via Sky is an absolute disgrace.

Rooney has had so much chucked at him for a novice manager and he’s starting to become a class act in my eyes both the way he is preparing the team and the way he is dealing with all this ?being thrown at him.
