More than anyone could need, so why not buy a football club? Unsubstantiated rumours that Mel was staying with "Micky" in Miami over the last week or so. Make of that what you will.

Has anyone answered this for you? In order that they were rumoured:-
Ted Leonsis - Monumental Sports, Washington sports teams, $1.2bn personal wealth
Micky Arison - Carnival Cruise Corporation, Miami Heat $6.5bn
    Michael G Rubin - Fanatics Inc, Philadelphia 76ers, $6.2bn
not aware of any more rumours

Yes, they did have £111m in the bank at the Balance Sheet date AND their net worth is negative largely because they owed their creditors £115m more than they were owed by their debtors (just a coincidence the numbers are equal)

    Give him your money?
You do realise he is putting £x £x million of his own money into the club to keep it afloat.
Do you think not putting your money in is going to help improve the squad that you think is already underfunded?

Football is a Saturday afternoon with your brother or mates.
Football is about arguing about the team, the tactics, the players, the manager and the oppostion.
Football is the banter, the sounds, the smells(!!), the andrenaline of walking to the ground - it's an emotion of highs and lows within just 90 minutes, and the next week, whatever the previous result may be, you go again.
Once you have committed to a club, it's yours for life, whatever division the team plays in.
I'm 69 years of age, and next Easter Monday 2022, will be the 60th anniversary of the first time I watched Derby County, when my dear father and uncle took me and my brother to the Baseball Ground.
I've stood on terraces, in all weathers, sat on hard seats, been treated to the hospitality suite, and even played on Pride Park in a charity game and football have given me despair at time, but also much enjoyment over the years.
I even bought a season ticket when I was working overseas and only saw 4 home games a season for 3 years, but I still supported Derby County from afar.
Whatever division The Rams find themselves in next season, I will shout at them, criticise them, moan until I'm blue in the face, but I'll support them because they are my club from my home town.

Would definitely take their combined billions. Pride Park becomes Carnival Park, a land-locked county's premier team shirts sponsored by P&O, pre-season tours around Washington. It can't be any worse than the uncertainty we have at present. They would be wanting to make money and to do that DCFC would need to be successful.

Not sure this idea of Leonsis AND Avison AND Horton rings true. Perhaps Horton as the party to put the roof on PP but why would two American billionaires join forces to buy DCFC?
That said, the idea of either (or both) would be exciting. Despite the debts they would be getting the club at a low price. You could see Mel selling for £1 just to get out. If they believe they can generate money using the ground the current issues would be insignificant. The lowest the wage bill has been in 10 years probably.
After weeks of nothing, now lots of rumours about the EFL punishment doing the rounds which leads me to suspect that the club already know the outcome and conversations are ongoing, possibly along the lines of takeover almost complete, can we announce it all together in a massive corner flag day.

Wouldn't it be good if signs containing these iconic images of various aspects of the old BBG were placed now so people could get a proper perspective of how this all looked back in the day?

This company doesn't have any obvious connection to DCFC, other than Mel is a director. It is owned by MSTART (MEDICAL AND SPORTING TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH TRUST).
Another non-story from Kieron Maguire. Gellaw companies are those off-the-shelf ones set up by Geldards solicitors, who work for Mel.

Quite succinct summary of the EFL ruling:-

The arbitration panel (with no accountancy expertise) rules that the commission (which includes an accountant) was wrong on a point of UK accountancy law. And that is being referred back to the original commission (including the accountant), who went into a fair amount of detail about why UK accountancy law had not been broken, to decide on a punishment for the club. Makes no sense.

The argument that the EFL expressly agreed to our accounting treatment/policy towards amortization is the crux of this. They did sign the accounts off but we have been found guilty of not spelling out explicitly enough how our policy actually worked.
If you think the EFL should be competent enough to understand the accounts or at least raise queries then this shouldn't go any further. If you agree that we could have been clearer then perhaps we get a punishment.
Worst case the remedy is probably a fine. Either way, if someone manages to legally exploit your organisations rules and you don't like it, change the rules don't prosecute the person who was cleverer than you.
If points deductions are mooted then we have every right to appeal the appeal but the parameters of this one were very tight

Not at all, the partner from the club's auditors took the EFL's "expert" on this point to the cleaners. He was an academic with very little experience in the real world and the only finding against the club was that the written explanation in the accounts of how the amortisation had been applied could have been clearer, not that the policy was against the rules.
The EFL are appealing this when they should be re-drafting their rules if they don't like what clubs are able to do within the current ones.
They were embarrassed because they had to admit they had misunderstood the full ramifications of the club's accounting policy and this emerged in the hearing. Not able to take that on the chin, obviously they allege they were misled by our accounts. Cannot see how this gets overturned, but we are dealing with the EFL.....
