When you put it like that, sounds fair.
I got two brothers, 16 years ago(!) 'to keep each other company' while I was out at work.
Now they mostly don't like to share the same space, but occasionally they'll tolerate each other to be close to me.

It’s my daughters 4th birthday on Monday, she wanted a kitten. My wife wanted a kitten too and I didn’t. We ended up compromising and got a kitten. She’s called Mavis (after hotel Transylvania) and she’s quite cute I guess.

Weird comment seeing as at that time we had Steve McClaren back in charge (after the Pearson debacle) who wanted us to play football in a manner remarkably similar to Brentford, who themselves could be deemed to fit the very description of a using 'process, passing and possession' based model that he'd apparently have been unsuited for.

May Contain Nuts reacted to Anon in Wayne Rooney
What Rooney achieved under difficult circumstances in the relegation season is admirable. I do dispute the narrative that he had nothing to work with. Plenty of our players that season walk into other lower half Championship teams. It was really only in the striker department where the squad was comfortably below the level required.
Anyone want to talk about his first season in charge at Derby? I'd argue it's a much more accurate representation of his ability than the extreme circumstances of the 2nd, which he is unlikely to ever face again. He nearly relegated a team that was easily mid table in terms of ability. I appreciate he inherited a poor start from Cocu, but Rooney had 35 games. His points per game extrapolated over the season would've been good enough for a 20th place finish. He played awful football and took us on one of the worst runs of results in our history. If it weren't for Marlon Pack's equaliser against Rotherham, we'd have gone down.
So many people still have stars in their eyes when it comes to Rooney. So many people queuing up to make excuses for his objectively poor managerial record. He is afforded more leeway than most managers because of his celebrity status and his incredible achievements as a player. I don't care about that. I'm a Derby fan, not a Man United fan. I only care about what Rooney did as manager of this club, and the truth is that he was pretty bad.

Pillows & Mattresses. At least half of the time.
When you want them to be supportive, comfortable and an aid to drifting off to sleep they refuse to cooperate, becoming over-hard, uncomfortable too warm.etc, you're tossing and turning, readjusting, ending up with a crick in the neck, pins and needles in various places.
...but when you wake up in the morning, when you've got s*** to do and really you need to get out of bed asap, they couldn't be more comfortable. The last thing you want to do is move or heaven forbid actually get up.

May Contain Nuts reacted to MadAmster in Transfer rumours
Pre contracts signed, possibly contracts signed too. It only requires registering at the EFL on July 1st. Transfer fee agreed. Wages agreed. Bonuses agreed. signed sealed and delivered.
Unfortunately this topic seems to be getting drawn into pedantics of what actually constitutes a deal when it all started out as the point being made that we don't have to wait until July 1st to talk to players and clubs, to agree transfer/loan fees and wages and bonuses. We, and every other club, can... as the Johannson transfer to Stoke proves.

May Contain Nuts reacted to Van der MoodHoover in Punching above our weight. What do you think would elevate us above mid table next season?
We saw a late season fall away in his first season with us.
And we had a later season striking crisis this time around, saved to an extent by being able to bring in Gayle.
So something in what you say I think....

And on the other hand, he didn't do that out the goodness of his heart and was doing it for their own nefarious means.

May Contain Nuts reacted to GangwayD in Contracted players next XI
Spot on regarding Wes Morgan. Still can't believe he carved out such a career. All I seem to remember about him, is being destroyed by the likes of Rasiak and Rob Hulse, who seemed to score every time he played against him and we had Hulse at the wrong time in his career.
I actually thought Antonio was a good player, especially when he played up front. I am sure he was more of a winger at Sheff Wed before Forest bought him.
On topic, I hope CBT proves to be a success but the jury is certainly still out.
Cheers for now

How many teams go up and do perform major surgery though? He added 8 then 9 new signings after each of the first two promotions
For 2021/22 he kept 13 players who were part of a successful League One promotion season and added 9 new players including the likes of West Harding, that keeper we're supposedly after, George Hirst who's done well at Ipswich, Josefzoon who we signed for £3m after a good spell at Rotherham & Lewis Wing - it's not ike he had a poor squad, he also had a number of players who've since established themselves as Championship players (Wiles, Barlaser), had Ladapo probably in his prime and a couple who've just stayed up with Sheff Weds.
I'd argue that this upcoming season is the most difficult he's had in his career, this past season the most straightforward

I think you get an additional £7-8m of TV money plus maybe £1m extra in away ticket sales, maybe a little more sponsorship too.

I looked at this around a year ago, can't really remember or be bothered to think about what it represented but it's a list of players and appearance numbers over the course of Warne's time at Rotherham. You lose some players, you gain some players, you have some players consistent over multiple seasons.

May Contain Nuts reacted to Igorwasking in More restricted this year
Whether you say restricted or not as competitive - I think we can all agree (surely?!) that we have a bigger disadvantage fiscally this season? Last season, even with the EFL restrictions, we had a top two wage budget. This year, we will not have that.
Listening to a pod cast with Kieran Maguire yesterday - he said the average annual wage bill in L1 was £17m, the average is the Champ a staggering £31m. That’s nearly double. And don’t get me started on the average £83k p/w for Prem players. Mind boggling.
Getting to the Prem really will be a minor miracle. Staying possibly an even bigger one.
