I wanted to use this to say the personal and vile abuse Ed Dawes has been getting on Twitter is disgusting.

Pleased that Clowes has PB status as many were on tenterhooks whilst the spectre of Ashley still lurked - and the clickbait media hacks were feeding the fear.
I hope now that the DC deal can be concluded, and pronto. Closure is desperately needed.

Rooney's had some weeks off, with his boys and wife, winding down from it all. The distance brought his perspective and he wants new horizons.
It has been pretty relentless, the pressure and spotlight on 'Wayne Rooney's Derby County' - he did an amazing job galvanising the players he had, or was allowed to keep, and the performances swept the faithful along amid an undeniably Herculean effort.
Remember, Wayne was often scathing about referees, and said more than once: 'They want us relegated', and I happen to believe him."They" were also obviously the parasites and the EFL, working for months mainly to appease just about every other selfish Chairman and belittle or impede Derby.
I'll be happy if those people find themselves in similarly parlous financial straits - there are some prominent candidates.
Add on top of that for Wayne, the diabolical and destructive silence from Q - and the club likely to still be in administration without enough players to field a team, who can blame him for deciding enough is enough?
Yes, there's an element of selfishness in him not wanting another patchwork team to be struggling on, another division down, on his CV - but we've also had the media circus and snigger-mentality abruptly halted and now we can operate under the radar to a greater extent.
It will be interesting to see who takes Wayne on, and how he fares - but I'm far more interested in the future of Derby County, and Wayne is gone.
Cheerio, and thanks for all the fish.

Happy if Clowes has watched the shadow-boxing and media posturing and simply got on with assembling, proposing and concluding a workable, credible takeover package.
Also pleased if it marginalises bullish characters like MA or romanticists like Appleby by actioning a successful proposal - though if Mr Clowes doesn't surround himself with an intelligent, resourceful and football-savvy board, hoping we don't lurch into another s***-storm, created by local intervention....
Willing to give it a go, though!!

A nice spin-off is that we'll no longer be labelled 'Wayne Rooney's Derby County', by such as the tediously predictable BBC journos - we can be 'Derby County' again. Also, the EFL lost the big magnet of WR to boost their 3rd Division gates.
If the Gareth Bale move to Cardiff goes ahead, they can forever call them 'Gareth Bale's Cardiff City'   :))

Makes me vomit how the EFL now want to appear so involved and proactive, after royally shafting the club in any way they sought, to appease parasites and frustrate progress, for months on end.
When the takeover has been confirmed and the EFL finally issue their glorious self-regarding confirmation, they can royally phuck off and properly scrutinise all the other Championship clubs that are deep in debt and apply their 'rules' just as rigorously.

We are also removing the baggage  - millstone - of the 32Red deal for Rooney, which Colin Gibson on Radio Derby labelled as one of the former owner's 'stunts'.
That makes sense and perhaps Clowes also wanted rid of that 'legacy', much less, renew it. We may be seeing some clarity and logic in the way that Clowes wants to rebuild the club on a realistic footing.
We need DC's deal to get over the line, and pronto.

Regarding Rooney’s leaving, I remember when Brian Clough left. I was distraught. Thought we would be relegated, never win anything again. How wrong was I? So Rooney’s gone. Tough. But we’ll have a new manager. Who knows he might be better.

On the plus side, Clowes looks to be over 40 and is clearly both a fan and a man who feels obligated to do the right thing.
So come on David, your first decision should be the obvious one to finally turn the club's luck around.
Bring back the proper colours. I know I speak for all fans - well the sensible ones at least...Derby County should play in white shirts and navy blue shorts.
