The following squad was down to Cocu. We've just seen Rooney get 5 players in with almost no outlay I imagine. If you think Cocu couldn't say who he did and didn't want on his management team then how has Rooney managed? Don't you think, as Curtis Davies has mentioned, that Cocu's coaching being over-complicated and training somewhat dull, didn't help either?! 
Cocu had us heading to Laegue 1. That will take some turning around.

So for context, Morgan has eclipsed anything Bobby Duncan has ever done at youth level. Liverpool sold him to Fiorentina for 1.8 million.
And for me @Carl Sagan, has it right. He has similar characteristics to Thierry Henry and for those old enough to remember; Wenger played Henry wide left for a good couple of years until he’d matured.
Not every player is ready to make the jump from youth team to first XI at the same age. And those that breakthrough earlier do not necessarily go on to have better careers.
I would much prefer us to retain Morgan and let him grow with us. A run of starts towards the end of the season once relegation isn’t a worry, and you might just get a different player next season. Those writing him off should think where we’d be now if Max Bird had been sold off for 700k after the Villa game.
And finally, we have no idea on Wayne’s eye for a player and bar youth players and the last window under Cocu our recruitment team have been a little underwhelming to say the least. Where’s the guarantee we’ll spend the money wisely? The thought of selling Morgan just to fund Phil Jones lying in the treatment room for four months is criminal.

You are right, he could turn out to have as good a career as Bamford has. 
The similarities end there though - look at much that lot down the road sold him for 10 years ago: £1.5m! He was 18 and had played 2 first team games.
We need to drive down the A52 to the dark side and ask them (as pleasantly as is possible, “could you please inform us how to extract maximum monies from young players just out of nappies. Thanks for your help”.
They’ve done this several times to their great advantage. We would have let them go for next to nowt.
 
 

He's only 20 and he's being bought by another Championship team. Sorry but this is chump change. We can end up pissing away £10m on looking for what this guy will develop in to. 

Don't understand the hatred towards Whittaker. He's hardly been given a proper chance. Out of his 25 games for Derby, he's started 2 times and played the equivalent of 5.5 games. 1 goal and 1 assist in that time. Is this really a fair chance? Difficult to continue influencing games when you come on for 5/10 minutes every time you play. Looked decent in his cameo vs Norwich and just unlucky vs Stoke.
We could massively regret this because there's certainly a player there, as anyone who's watched the academy has seen. 

Those must the the two leaving that Nixon was on about. With Whittaker, we haven’t really seen enough of him to know whether it’s a good move letting him go or not. We’ve obviously got enough players in Lawrence, Jozwiak and Waghorn to be able to live without him in wide areas, but at the moment he’s our only other striker option instead of Kazim-Richards. We probably need two strikers to come in now we’ve let him go, so I hope to goodness we’ve got some lined up in those incoming players.
Disappointed with both of those fees though. With Whittaker’s potential, and his international recognition, I’d be expecting a minimum of 4m. And even with Evans, he’s still fairly young and has plenty of Championship experience, so I’d be expecting a minimum of a million.
