It’s been a really tough seven days with three agonising results. But I’d be disappointed if we threw the towel in now.
Yes, we are running out of games and yes, it will take something extra special especially if Reading find a positive result or two from somewhere.
But we have to believe, until the very end.
The Barnsley game holds the key - a win and the return of Lawrence could breathe new life into the season.
I don’t like to talk about must win games but to be honest, that’s what every game at PP is now. The away form is a huge concern. Isn’t that five defeats on the spin since Reading away?
We have to find some inspiration from somewhere. Time for Wayne and Liam to see what they can conjure up.

I'm sorry, but for all Rooney's bleating about the ref, the answer to tonight's defeat lies far closer to home. 
Bring Sibley on by all means, but for Morrison, not Knight! 
Ravel had a decent game, but as someone who hasn't had that much football recently he surely should have been the one to make way, giving Sibley the same position.
Knight having a 10 minute rest given his constitution was pointless, if he'd have been on the pitch that goal doesn't happen.

Can't fault the effort but we've left 3 points out there tonight.
Were much the better side throughout in terms of general play - controlled the ball & cut them open a number of times, especially right side. The problem was a familiar one though - lack of numbers in the box (wide players on receiving side particularly guilty), lack of urgency when on the ball & most maddening of all, a reluctance to actually take a shot on goal. In wet conditions like that, it shouldn't be rocket science to get as many shots off as possible - instead we had one header from Ravel as our sole shot on target with 64% of the ball. It's happening too often. The whole point of dominating the ball is to punish the opposition, it is not meant to be an end in itself.
Whilst its never over until mathematically so, the last 3 games have almost extinguished our hopes of a great escape. Three bang average sides who dug in, benefitted from our final third timidity & then nicked the points. Going to take a lot more than a win Saturday to get us back into this.

To be honest, Bradley Johnson was the least of our problems. Never get how some see him on here.

Brad's CKR's best mate, attends games whenever his schedule at Blackburn allows, and obviously still cares about the club.

Yeah, too many soft free kicks given these days. I'd've expected Curtis to be stronger. Likewise, it wasn't really a foul on Ebosele at the start of the move. (Despite what Rooney is saying in the interview on Sky).
There was also the mistake, saving the throw in but giving them the ball.
We're just blaming the ref when it's our own fault. Not just the defending, we're just not creating chances.
I'm not knocking Rooney or the squad. They've been magnificent. But the squad is paper thin, they look exhausted and there just isn't the creativity there without Lawrence, Jozwiak or the players we could've bought without the embargo.

30 touches in opponents box compared to 12 for Cardiff yet only 1 shot on target. Pretty much sums it up.

I really don't get the blaming of the ref tonight. Davies was weak in the defending, and Festy went down too easily. That is a 50/50 decision, you could argue it either way. Being victims doesn't help. That loss is on us. 

That was diabolical to watch. Ravel is no Lawrence, no urgency on the half turn.
 
Good effort from the boys. My main anxiety now is the contracts of the likes of Cashin and Ebosele.

Our tempo is just too slow, always looking to pass backwards when we should be looking to move forwards. Also seem to want to walk the ball in rather than shoot….

One more plan left for us...

Been poor without Lawrence haven’t we, given it everything just not enough 

Disappointing but not unexpected. Our away form has been poor all season and this will make it only 11 away goals in 18 games. We can all say we lack a striker, but we are devoid of creativity too.
Bird, Knight, Morrison and Bielik is probably the least creative midfield in the Championship.
Ebosele is still a kid, while Joz and Lawrence are big misses.
It has been an incredibly good fight, but our lack of goals have been an issue all season.

Agree..but to be fair to him plange has been doing nothing to create space so often Morrison has no options ahead of him.

What on earth are we doing?

Our midfielders pick up the ball either side of the centre circle, look ahead and unless Plange is making an in to out run there's little ahead of them. 
We really need two up front, it's so easy to defend against us when you only need to mark Plange and keep half an eye on Ebosele. 
 

We’re so frustrating. We look like we only have ten men when we’re attacking.
Morrison has no idea going forward.
Ebosele no idea how to use the most of his ability.
If we had half a decent attack, we’d be winning this game.

He has made that run at least 10 times in the last 5 games and we have never had a man on the near post. 

I would have preferred Sibbo to Ravel to start….we need goals…..
