The letter reads well to me. I’m not sure why fans are getting their knickers in a twist about them ‘not representing me’. The letter asks a number of questions that have been raised in this forum. I doubt they’ll hear anything in response though, such is the clubs complete disregard to its fans.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous.
my personal experience is that my season ticket auto renewed, but I want to relocate. The reason I want to move seats is I’d like to purchase two additional season tickets for my wife and daughter and have all 3 of us sit together.
I’ve emailed and emailed with no luck.
I was on hold the day the ticket office lines opened for 3 hours to be told I’d have a call back when the manager is in.
I never got that call back and have rang in several times and each time was told I’ll have a call back when the manager is in.
I don’t think it’s harsh to say this is pathetic at all. I’m wanting to spend an additional £700 which would pay one salary for 2 or 3 weeks. Multiply little old me struggling to give the club money by however many other people are in the same boat and they must be losing a fortune. An additional handful of staff would not cost as much as the lost revenue, surely?
in fact, a damn option to move my seat online wouldn’t require any new staff
Pandemic or not, it’s disgusting and like an idiot, I’ll probably spend another tenner on hold tomorrow & get nowhere.

At the end of the day, what is Derby County without its fans?
Making it harder for those fans to buy tickets than needs be is the stupidest thing we've done.
There's literally no excuse for it.
It's not a massively well paid, highly technical skill required to do so, it can easily be outsourced if need be, even temporarily, isn't that SeatGeeks role anyhow?
If not, what do they actually do?

He's a generous bloke, £1.2m for a robotic surgeon to Derby Hospital that helps the city, saved lives and pumped millions into the football club.
People can dissect his running of the club and they will, but honestly having talked to him on many occasions, he's a decent guy that does care.
I would receive calls just to check up how I was doing during my bad days with anxiety. Was hard to read that he was going through his own health issues.
I'll get hammered for this post but I'm gutted for the guy with how this is ending. Always will.
Won't ever feel comfortable reading people laying into him as a man, but accept that others haven't been as lucky I have to have been able to see that side of him.

Anyway, Morris is the worst chairman we’ve had. Worse than Maxwell, worse than the Three Amigos. His reckless spending spree has led to this. Should we be thankful for someone wasting so much money? I don’t think so. This is the worst we’ve been since 1984. Shambolic.
Stephen Pearce. Equally as bad. He was finance officer before too. He’s should be overseeing the day to day running of the club. No communication, no ticket office. After a pandemic, the club is alienating its fans further. The club is on its knees. It’s a disgrace how this great club is being run.

I like many more have seen the trouble we were in in the 80s, The Maxwell and 3 Amigos debacle but this is the worst. Why should I renew mine and my family's St.
I was privalidged to get an invite to a night with Sam Rush and Paul Clement at Derby uni.
Sam Rush that night told how transfers had been structured 250k Nick Blackman rest based upon appearances, promotion etc. I was also told a few seasons ago about further transfer structures, this is one of the reasons we are in it so deep, why did MM and Rush settle there dispute without the truth coming out. I dispair at what I read in the press dragging us through the mire for all to read, this club is a total embarresment to all Dcfc fans, its showing in attendances that people are voting with there feet.
How many parents will have stopped coming bringing the new generation of fan due to what's going on, the damage to our club could have a damaging effect for seasons to come.

    I'm sorry @jono.
I do love ya, but in the context of comparing past owners to the incumbent, Maxwell's time at Derby, as Derby owner, can hardly be irrelevant to a discussion as to how Mel Morris as an owner measures up.
I'm sure Mel's a much nice person than Bob, and he does a lot for charity so we've read, but that doesn't make him a better owner.

This started out as a war between Mel and the EFL partly the result of Mel calling out the EFL on their rubbish TV deal and threatening a premier league 2 which other clubs supported him in. The EFL campaign has been beyond vindictive and our breaches seem to be minor compared historically to other clubs. Must fans like me have been happy to defend Mel on this and encourage him to fight it and stop the gross injustice against us.

However as this has dragged on, looking at the EFL charge sheet and what the charges are for, default on transfers, HMRC, Mel refusing to give assurances at the fans meeting he will continue to back the club, the ongoing situation with not being able to sign players. It seems to be more than just an FFP fight now, the owner is checking out and does not want to put another single penny into the club before he does finally leave, or he can’t but any money in. That’s the growing impression I’m getting and the deafening silence is only adding to that. Either way (he won’t or can’t fund any more), it’s unforgivable. He’s the custodian of this club if HE has gambled and now we’re laden with debt, HE should stand behind it. It’s his DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY as custodian of this football club.
I’ve defended him lots on here, but my faith in him is hanging on by a fingertip now .

In any walk of life, whether your own a business or renting a house, the number one priority should to make sure the bills are all sorted and paid on time. As the owner of the football club, it's Mels responsibility to make sure all the parties the club deals with to be treated in a professional manner. And we've failed to do this. Regardless of personal opinions, whether you support or dislike the man, he needs to take that responsibility and be accountable for his and the directors actions. I hope the chairman is well and is in good health, this shouldn't be an excuse for a poorly managed financial situation though.
I don't wish for people to be sacked, it's a difficult world as it is, the first person out the door should be Stephen Pearce. It's clear now how much of a rooster up we've made financially, it was a gamble which may well have paid off, however the gamble has massively backfired and we're not even paying the tax man on time. If this wasn't a local man in charge there'd have been protests by now. I'm certain the last ownership got more abuse for less major issues.
It's difficult to be critical of an owner investing £200 million into the club. I'm thinking more of the basics of managing the finances of any real life situation. I can understand arguing about the EFL about their vendetta against us, which is now beyond a footballing matter. Not paying other clubs or HMRC is unacceptable behaviour.

My original point was football based though. Maxwell, yes he was a terrible bloke, but as an owner he had some success. The first few years were very successful. The best since the 70s. The football side of things wasn’t hugely affected. Not as much as it is being now. The same applies with the Three Amigos. Crooks - yes. But, on a footballing standpoint, we were on a more stable footing I would argue than our current plight. This is the lowest I can remember since 84. Can’t sign anyone, completely skint, no sign of improvement, no ticketing office. When has that ever happened?

We weren’t under all of these restrictions under those regimes.  Not saying they were shameful individuals, but the Maxwells saved the club and under their stewardship got the club to 5th. I honestly don’t think we’ve ever been as bad as this since 84. Statement stands.

I don’t think we’ll get to that stage under Morris, but the football side of things has never been so negatively affected by the incompetency of the owners as it is now.
