Scousers talking about building a statue to him. Everything you say is true, but the record will show he’s just won one champions league and one premier league. Where’s the statue for Benitez. Yes they’ve won the title, but this is Liverpool, past managers were winning back to back titles, winning one title is pretty much the minimum requirement. Not winning one title would have been a failure. Should he be a legend for achieving the minimum?
I know that’s unfair cos he was up against Pep and probably would’ve won more without him, but that’s the reality. You don’t get statues for coming second place.
Bit of a nearly man really. They nearly won back to back champions leagues. They nearly won the quadruple. That would have been proper legendary status. There’s some parcelled universe where those thighs came to pass. But it’s not this universe.
Of course, if he wins the quadruple this season, we’ll see. His story isn’t finished yet.
You say nearly men and yeah, true, you have to also consider the journeys the fans have been on. That extra Champions League Final, the League Cup Finals, Europa League.....they all build to what has a brilliant era in the clubs history. They are also in a great position in this season, his last, to go win the title again.
And they have done it in style, being one of the most entertaining clubs to watch in recent times, we have lots of debates on here over results v style of football, some argue why not have both and Liverpool fans have had that.
I don't know if he deserves a statue, however having done the Anfield tour they do like to recognise the clubs history in and around the ground, Klopp already features centre in their wall of Champions. I wouldn't be surprised if they honour him in some other ways around the ground.

What about trawling through every single word the manager says after the game and using it as a stick to beat him with surly that's more important than 3 points.
Nah, gonna order a Chinese, shredded salt & pepper beef, beautiful

Wasn’t great was it. The goals were, the rest not so.
3 points in the bag though, that’s all matters at this stage of the season.

Klopp is not a bad manager, but to call him a legend is a bit far IMHO.
He is probably only the 4 or 5 th best coach for Liverpool in my life time.
Also way behind Clough, Ferguson, Shankly, Paisley, Pep, Mourinho.
Modern day legend for the club.
Modern day, as in the last 20/30 years.
The club, as in Liverpool.
For a club with such a decorated trophy cabinet, they went an awfully long time without really being a threat to the top clubs.
Klopp has come in and brought domestic and European success, when you see some of the Derby players being labelled legend on this forum, I don’t think calling Klopp a modern day legend for Liverpool is that absurd.

Got home from work on Tuesday, saw the result and thought, well bugger going on the forum for a few days. Seeing this topic title on my return, looks like a wise decision was made.
Kinda think it should be seen as a rhetorical question, which maybe the discussion shift back on to style of play suggests it is and we are all on the same abuse is bad page.
In fairness though, unless all the moderators had the same idea of staying away, I don't see this forum as being an abusive place, we have rules in place to prevent that.
We can't however outlaw overreactions, which I can only assume have taken place after one poor performance following a stupendous run of form which saw Warne awarded manager of the month.
I've seen comparisons with Clough Jnr in here, I see that, the divide amongst fans that will remain until the day he leaves. Battle lines have been drawn and the only way they will be erased is if Paul Warne wins the World Cup with Derby County.
There is one huge difference between the two though, not the bobble hat, Warne actually has us challenging for promotion and whilst he continues to do that, I'll happily buy him as many pints as he can handle.
Talking of which, leaving the house shortly, destination Derby. Looking forward to teaching the nephew how to drink and watching us play, if the result doesn't go our way, I'll probably have a little tut and head home with the intention of avoiding this place until the next game. Not because of the abuse, just the overreactions.

Modern day legend for the club, always had a bit of soft spot for Liverpool, the city and the club which Klopp made softer. Without wanting to offend the Guardiola aficionados, for me personally they have been the most entertaining Premier League team to watch for a while.
23 years in management, the bloke deserves a break, time with family and that.
After, he can come to Derby for a different kind of challenge. I love the man in a purely platonic one sided relationship.
Unless he goes to Barca/Real or Saudi then me and him are over.

I don’t understand the point or reasoning behind not announcing a player when the deals been done the day before ?
Recording and editing the RamsTV welcome to Derby interview, photoshoot holding the ball and scarf, creating a social media announcement video.
Waiting for EFL rubber stamping the players registration.
Agreement with Charlton when to announce.
Possibly a mixture of those things, or he's escaped out the window already and we have nobody at the club that could catch him.

Man City's charges are different. It's between the years 2009-2018. And they have rejected the charges so it's up to the PL to prove they are guilty, which then permits City to appeal. It's going to roll on for years.
Everton and Forest, meanwhile, have both accepted they fell foul of the rules. They may fight the punishment, but they have already accepted the charges.
The whole mess has come about because of stupid FFP rules anyway. FFP was never brought in to stop smaller clubs from spending above their means and potentially going bust. It was brought in to protect their main assets, to stop smaller clubs from doing a Man City and knocking Man Utd off their perch.
I find it ridiculous how Newcastle may have to sell players to buy. Let them spend.
Apply a wage and signing bonus cap instead.
I don’t think either Forest or Everton have accepted they have fallen foul of the rules have they? Simply acknowledged the charges against them.
Any punishment wouldn’t be revealed until early April.

Interesting to note.
At the same time, it was never Randall signing off the transfers, identifying the players or agreeing their salaries. That, ultimately, was Marinakis and it will be interesting to see the owner’s reaction. Does he come out swinging or does he accept responsibility?

You could make the same argument about getting bummed and heroin, but I shan't be trying them either.
Cheese? Gravy? With cod and chips?
Animal.
I see your point, but I don’t think heroin is comparable to cheese with gravy.
Never heard of poutine? It’s just a piece of fish thrown in.

The most astonishing thing about this post, is that it had to be made.
At the same time it's also comforting to read this from someone who shall we say is not enjoying the football, can see that any talk of replacing the manager at this stage in the season.....is well....all a little bit silly, given all the points above.
The time for talk over his future should take place in the summer.
