Kinkladze away at top of the table Portsmouth, scared them to death second half and they couldn’t get near him. We lost the game in the end but Kinkladze was unbelievable, I’ve never seen anything like it from a Derby player before or since (I’m a bit too young for the 1970s geniuses, didn’t start going until the 1980s).

At this moment I trust David Clowes. He has signed Warne on a 4 year deal and therefore Warne will be our manager next season. Owners largely succeed on their recruitment of managers. I hope Clowes made a good decision.
Managers largely succeed on their recruitment of players. Warne hasn’t had much chance yet. He will know this summer’s transfer window is huge for him and the club.
By around November we’ll have a sense of how we’re doing. Personally I think anyone judging Clowes or Warne before then is being a little premature.

Updating my prediction to Sheff Wed 1-1 Derby, McGoldrick

Sheff W 0-0 Derby

I think we have a reasonable chance of a draw. The win seems unlikely but then strange results do happen on the last day of the normal season.
I am more comforted by the fact that Peterborough have an equally difficult away game which they probably won’t win either, notwithstanding the strange result possibility.
I expect following the scores live will be massively nerve wracking, especially if we go a goal down, or Peterborough go a goal up, at any point.
Hope it’s on Sky so I can watch it in the pub, I expect it will be as Sky will want the ratings from two of the best supported clubs in League One.
Let’s get it done Derby!

Warne said in a recent interview that Sibley is the best finisher in the club. Makes me wonder why he hasn’t played more minutes when we’ve needed a goal!

Good man👏 and it was amazing what he did in the last 10 minutes of the 3-3 at home to Sheff Wed during COVID.

If my memory is correct we did this to Swindon in the early 90s at the BBG, we could have got automatic promotion on the last day so we reduced the away allocation and sold the seats to Rams fans.
Ended up losing the play off semi to Blackburn.

I have no animosity at all towards Burton Albion, in fact when they’re not playing us I like to see them doing well. The difference between how I feel about Burton Albion and how I feel about the gumps is enormous. I don’t know any Rams fans who’s feelings aren’t similar.
Surely people can see that most of the negativity in this thread is joking?

And Burton have never scored at Pride Park (admittedly only 2 games), drew 0-0 and lost 1-0.
-
Just looked at our home record v Burton, 0-0 and 1-0. So Burton haven’t scored at Pride Park. I would take another 1-0 on Saturday, expecting a tight game.

The Exeter win was our best away win of the season, maybe our best win given form and pressure.
The play offs is well and truly back on (if it was ever off) but Burton at home is a must win game. We need a magnificent turn out from the supporters and I mean noise, support, no let up.
I wouldn’t object to an unchanged team, lots of it worked - wing backs, central defence, NML up front with McGoldrick, Sibley advanced, Hourihane deep and controlled.
Come on you Rams!
