Derby 1-0 Fleetwood, McGoldrick

I’m merely speculating that if Warne had a go at the whole team these 2 might have pushed back? We may never know!
-
Are McGoldrick and Knight actually injured or has there been a bit of a falling out post Plymouth and the “injured” story is to remove any focus on it? If they both play the next game I will remain suspicious!

It’s about what we do. We can’t control what the opposition does or how bad the ref is. But we do need, as some have said, a certain type of player that we’re currently missing. We have talent and ability but we’re too nice as a team.
For me the missing player needs to be able to do the following:
1. Ref the game or “manage” the ref through the 90 minutes. We see players from other teams do this, we don’t.
2. Gee up the rest of the team when the tide is turning against us. Have a word with a few. Go tight for 10 minutes. Change the mentality. This would have been invaluable in some of our recent games but it didn’t happen.
3. Make a few tackles, bully the opposition a bit, identify the opposition’s key player and bring him down a peg or two.
4. Win the ball and pass it to our better technical players.
I believe with this one addition to the squad we would get enough points to go up next season if we don’t this. However, how easy it will be to get this player under current restrictions I don’t know.

I’m not sure about physical tiredness. The modern day club has all the stats to tell them this. I think this is much more about individual mistakes and our inability to pull together on the pitch. We’re a too nice, quiet, team, we don’t have a strong leader to get stuck into a few when the tide is turning against us. I think this will ultimately be our downfall in this season’s promotion race but we should do enough to get into the play offs and from there anything can happen as we know only too well!

Sports people are competitive and proud, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get a mention amongst the players before kick off. Either way, I don’t mind what motivated them if we end up winning!

The players should be well up for this given Lincoln away was our worst performance of the season and they will want to put that right, as well as to bounce back from defeat with a victory. I’m expecting the Rams to win a tight game and hopefully keep a clean sheet, we need more of those.

Someone always has a niggling injury, I’m not sure if these injuries are real or just a way to save face publicly!

Listened to last night’s interview on RD, she spoke very well and sounds like an ideal chair for the Rams Trust.
I don’t get the negative comments about the Rams Trust. They are what they are, are linked to the FSA and advocate supporter representation.
Aside from the gaff promoting expensive borrowing during season ticket sales last year I don’t see the harm.
I’m glad there is a Rams Trust and hope the new chair does well.

Yes I liked the mobile ticket, it’s not easy for me to get it printed as I don’t have a working printer at home. It’s also a shame we have to print tickets which uses electricity, paper and ink, the digital ticket is certainly the green option too.

Fleetwood don’t score many and don’t concede many so it might be a tight game unless or until we score. On that basis the front 6 are key and we will need our likeliest goal scorers on from the start. I would play a midfield 3 of Bird, Hourihane and Sibley and a front 3 of Dobbin, Mendez-Laing and McGoldrick.
