For some inexplicable reason after the match, I still came away feeling annoyed. I don't know why, I can't get my head around it. We won a home game though, box ticked.
Massive positive was Liam Thompson, I thought he was superb and exactly what we've missed in midfield, energy. Bird, Hourihane and Smith isn't going to work because they don't compliment each other's styles. Thompson is different. Aggressive with and without the ball, no fear. Difference maker, has to keep playing him because our midfield has no fight in a battle. Waggy getting another goal and a nice finish easy finish too. He's very comfortable at this level, he'll definitely get over 15 goals, what a good accident (massive piece of luck) that might turn out to be for Warne. He would have never bothered to look at him if it wasn't for Fozzy.
Negatives, we still looked pretty ropey on the ball and Fleetwood should have scored at least one goal. The keeper and the woodwork saved us big time. Fleetwood having so many clear cut chances scares me because I really don't think they played that well either. Why Warne switched to a back 5 near end to protect a one goal lead still baffles me a day later, this invited Fleetwood to create more chances rather than Derby being positive and getting the ball forward.
I'm a stubborn person, I don't rate Warne and his tripe "football" to be honest. I'm keeping the comfort and hope because he is a promotion specialist. Regardless of my opinion, I cannot deny his successes in the past. He can get it over the line. This is why at matches I'll cheer the team and back him to the moon if it gets us out of playing teams like Fleetwood again next season.

But it’s the main reason. Our form against bottom half sides was brilliant. Why look at that and think we should have improved when it’s glaringly obvious where our fault last season lied.
It’s like if you run a 400m race. You run the first 200m in 19 seconds, setting a world record for 200m, but run the second 200m in 26 seconds and thus finishing the race 5th. And then afterwards claiming if only you had run the first 200m in 18 seconds you would have finished 1st. Quite clearly the first 200m wasn’t the problem…
Just as Derby’s form against bottom 12 sides last season wasn’t the problem.

Yes it wields 3 points. But beating Posh means that you aren’t then relying on Posh to lose to Fleetwood.
In a trio of fixtures between Derby, Posh and Fleetwood, you would much rather beat Posh and lose to Fleetwood rather than the other way around. Why? Because then you aren’t relying on Fleetwood to take points from Posh. It’s why they call these games six-pointers.
On the flip side here are just a few from Derby over the years
Billy D season we finished third behind Sunderland and Brum. They both did the double over us that season. Reverse the fixtures and Derby finish top.
Steve Mac season we finished 3rd and Burnley finished second. They did the double over us that season. Reverse the results and Derby finish second, and Burnley finish 3rd.
Derby’s inability to beat decent sides last season was our downfall. Our record against bottom half sides was the 4th best in the league. Better than Bolton and Posh.

Hopefully use this is a springboard for the next two away games.
Lose them both and this scrappy win against a team currently in the bottom four will look like a papering the cracks job.
We all know Warne’s record against the better teams is dire.
The next two is where he earns his wage.
Come on Warne. Come on Derby.

I agree that we can't start replacing the manager, I'd argue we need to keep him until the end of the season and evaluate from there, unless it turned really dire.
What I think is not helping is it is difficult for supporters to ignore the last third of the previous season where the team weren't good enough and blew the playoff chances. PW giving messages in interviews of how he wants his teams to play with high intensity, yet it's very obvious early on the two 2 centre backs we've bought in are past their prime and cannot play a high line because they're too slow, as an example. Retaining the ball is atrocious and this is a classic to hack supporters off.
We are going to have to learn to grit our teeth because we've signed this chap up for the long term. Unless we end up in the bottom half 12-15 games in, he's going nowhere. I don't see any alternatives other to stick at it for a season.

100% that is what has happened.
I was one of a few that didn't expect top 6 at all last season, yet when Warne himself calls it a failure it's hard to disagree with him when that was the objective.
For me, I have given him a clean slate for this season, first real opportunity to bring his own players in, forget what happened last season and that puts me very much in the minority online at least. Not been a great start, yet it's early days.
Combine that failure with those that were unconvinced by his appointment at the very start, we now have a majority of discontent, again online at least.
Your online fans are in my opinion the more hardcore in that they listen and judge you on every word, there is no forgetting what was said following Cheltenham away last season, or in the RamsTV Xmas special, it's all documented online. Even our own opinions which come back to bite us on the arse.

Back to basics. Ask Rooney to turn the ball over and offload it to the full backs or wingers. Ask Wilson and Elder to overlap NML and Waggy.

I feel much of the anger and frustration has been bottled up from the back end of last season and because of the poor start, many supporters have released their emotions on the manager, I don't blame them to be honest.
It is difficult for supporters to get behind a team who aren't playing well and the football being presented is horrid. This is why the likes of Pulis, Bruce, Allardyce etc. receive really poor reactions from fans when their teams start losing games. The pretty on the eye managers tend to get more time because at least they're trying to entertain even if the results don't match the performance. I think we are all baffled as to why Warne is known for playing high intensity football yet 2 of his 3 centre backs cannot run and play a high line, hence there's questions on recruitment and manager tactics.
Built up anger has finally exploded unfortunately.

Doesn't this whole saga just prove having a "good style of football" can really be a huge difference in support? I used to think style of play did not matter as long as you get results. After watching most of last season and the beginning of this season under Warne, I have changed my mind. I could see what Rosenior was trying to do, and we still were creating loads of chances but had nobody to stick it in the net. Now we are playing horrible football and not getting results at home, yet.
For some reason, in my mind, I thought Warne would have this Jurgen Klopp high press, blistering pace countering attacking team which would be devastating, especially away from home. And it has turned out to be the opposite. It genuinely is like watching football from 30 years ago. Kick it wide, cross cross cross. And we haven't recruited many athletic players for the counter attack either. How many teams actually play like that nowadays, even in our league? It has surprised me how many teams can get the ball down and knock it around comfortably along the pitch, which is making us look very amateur out of possession. It really is looking like Dizzy saved PW from humiliation last season.
The most sensible thing the club can do at this point is wait until the end of the season. Live by our decisions and take the medicine if we fail. We're definitely not going down, even we can beat the complete dross near the foot of the table. Warne seems like the honourable bloke to resign if he didn't achieve what he set out to do. As painful as it might be, for the sake of the club's finances, stick it out with the manager. You never know, by some miracle we might turn the ship around. I think the manager has realised his dream formation and system has failed 3 times now. Drop the ego and play a way which gains the most out of the players we have now.
