  1. Well, you're no William Shakespeare or Charles Dickens, but for a poster on a div. 3 football forum, I'd still rate you somewhere between rather spiffing and bloody marvelous!
  2. Finish 3rd. Win the first leg 0-3 away Then... erm... oh... my keyboards brok
  3. Top class player. Top class geezer. Top class news. 🐏
  4. is "Early Window Doors" the same as bi-fold patio doors? πŸ‘€
  5. Just how live is this live game? 🀣 ... Just watched the highlights... was there no VAR on the Wolves Peno? Looked awfully dive-esque to me? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Lively ending mind, for a neutral. πŸ‘
  6. Muckerette's memories of the old BBG are just 2 games in total, from the late 80's/early 90's, and are thus... 1. First Game: On the Popside v Newcastle... didn't like the claustrophobic vibes of a near-full terrace vibe... wasn't keen on the pushing, shoving, and swaying... absolutely hated the hefty waft of B.O. from the guy in front, who managed to keep both arms aloft for the entire game. It was a no from her! 2. So let's try this then..., A wonderfully romantic trip to FA Cup Third Round Land. v Burnley. In the posh seats (Ley Stand). She was halfway through her "This is much better, darling" spiel, when she had to change it to "Where TF has the pitch gone"! Got a bit foggy, innit! Postponed it, din't they! πŸ™„ She never bothered again (at The BBG)! 🀣
  7. That's a lovely thought an' all, but none of us know. He could have done a Bennett, and threatened to burn the place down... but he didn't! πŸ™„ Who's to say his loan back was his doing? "Dear Bristol, I'll sign for you just as long as you let me finish the season with my beloved Rams. Take it or leave it". That could just as easily be DCFC saying "OK Max, We'll let you go just as long as you finish this season with us. Take it or leave it". None of us know who's calling the shots on this loan back. It could be all Max's doing. It could be he had little to no choice! All we do know is that Max didn't fancy extending/renewing his contract beyond this season (Which I believe he was offered one, no?) Ergo, he'd rather leave. That we do know.
  8. You make that appear harsh... Childish even. ... and yet here I sit nodding in total agreement with you. Yeah, players come and go. I get that. A straight forward transfer would have no complaints from me. It's the loan back that niggles! To be wearing The Ram after effectively saying "I don't want to wear The Ram anymore", makes me feel a tad nauseous, if I'm honest. I get he's a pro. I get he'll "Still try his best whilst he's still here"... A bit like a lotto winner who has to serve a month's notice before heading off into the sunset... no way are they gonna be at the top of their game, for the duration! I'll try not to boo him, but remember, he actually ain't one of ours any more, so meh!
  9. Pfft! Luxury! Unfortunately, It was the 20:(something) from Euston to Lichfield... I would have paid double to have been allowed to sit on the roof! The toilets weren't an issue, as nobody could actually move to reach them anyway! I'll not go into detail, suffice to say beer cans do not retain liquid once they start rolling around on the carriage floor! πŸ™„
  10. Following a "Strongly worded email" to sometraincompanyorother@gmail.com (πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ) after our very poor journey to, and absolutely horrendous journey from Wembley (v Villa PO final), we were reliably informed by said train company that trains are the only form of transport that are not governed by any "maximum number of passengers" mandate. Just let that sink in for a moment! The capacity is literally unlimited... (Unlike cattle trains, I'd assume?). Suffice to say, our journey back seemed to back that statement up! 😲 Now, I hasten to add that I never checked that out for fact-finding reasons... partly due to shock, and partly as it was relayed via an official email communication from the train company's customer relations bod, (So why would I doubt it?), so if anyone can prove this to be incorrect, (I still cba to check!) then the train company's customer relations bod clearly lied to a disgruntled paying customer... which is only one step down from treating passengers worse than cattle anyway, so either way, it's shitty! "Never again", we exclaimed... and never again it shall remain!
  11. My missus fancied checking out a new four poster from Flitwick Beds, until I pointed out there's a very good reason for having a comma between Flitwick, Beds! #daft mare! (She spotted it on the side of a van, and made assumptions) πŸ™„
  12. That looks suspiciously like an old flame of mine.
  13. If they had owt about 'em, they could make a trendy/arty statue out of said nicked hubcaps! It'd only take a few hours each night, after wor... oh... bugger...
  14. What we need is a forward-thinking owner who's prepared to stump up for a glass roof. πŸ‘€
  15. I take it you've already tried the heaving bosom of a loving sister? #justtryingtohelpamate.
  16. Warne Out Out thread... c January 2026... "Much more of this, and we won't even qualify for The Europa League. The man's a complete Dinosaur" etc, etc. 😁
  17. I clearly don't see everyone, and my comments were clearly (or maybe not?) describing the majority of those I do see... not everyone at the game! ... Anyway, that sounds awfully South-Standish behaviour to me, so no wonder I didn't see you all! πŸ‘€ πŸ˜‰πŸ»πŸ
  18. Are we calling each other tvv*ts and πŸ›ŽοΈends now? How very junior schoolish! Reminds me of that funny story back when I was nine years old... etc... etc... and then we all shouted "Boobies" and ran off! Great days! 😁
  19. There's no buzz on the way in... or on the way out. Not even yesterday, after a win! The vast majority appear to be slumped-of-the-shoulder. Smile-less even. Any hint of smiles/laughter can soon be determined to be on a personal level, not DCFC related (I eavesdrop a lot as I hang around outside before going in!) There's a distinct aroma of "Doing the chores" around the ground pre-match, as if most of us are there out of duty. I could be reading the signs wrong of course, and I'm sure some on here will argue with my observations, but they are my observations nonetheless, and I'm comfortable with airing them. Maybe it's the weather? Post-Christmas blues? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Fire away!
  20. Is that a fair question? As it didn't happen, how would we know? We can only guess. For me personally, I suspect (guess!) I'd be happier with a "Played ok, and just about deserved to win". Obviously, I'd prefer a "We played mesmerically well, and blew them away, thoroughly deserving of the 3 points and improved GD", but that's the ideal world scenario, and unrealistic to even hope for, let alone expect. If... IF... you insist we answer your open question, I'd say no. Points over performance for me... but only just... and only for now. I don't want yesterday's game to become the norm. I'd stop going... eventually... I guess!
  21. I've never had a downer on Warne. I was up his arse for a good few months... and personality-wise, I still like the guy/his humour etc, unlike many. Any hint from me re Warne Out has been 100% "Tongue-in-cheek"/"WUM", call it what you like. Even now, I'm not at the "I think it's time to go" stage. Even if and when I get there, it will be more out of rueful realism than full on rant. That's just my make up, I guess. I'll just shrug my shoulders and plod on. But even for a home-only attendee (Lincoln away aside), I very much agree with @sage with his "Hard work to watch" comments. I don't currently envy our stalwart home and away regulars, that's for sure. Nor even the home regulars that have a bit of a trek to get here! It's hard work to motivate myself to take the 30 minute stroll to get there. It's hard work to skip up the steps to my seat, with even the slightest hint of optimism or excitement. It's hard work to bellow out a "Come on Derby". It's hard work to even truly believe "We'll win this" before a ball is kicked. For me personally, it's even hard work to work out whether it's Warne's fault, the player's fault, or a combination. ...But it's definitely a hard watch! Points (and subsequent league position) just about trump performance for me, but there will always be a cut-off point. I'm not there yet, and I've no idea how close I am. I suspect if that comes, it will be a bolt out of the blue moment? But I'm not enjoying the watch. I'm not shouting from the roof tops that I'm a Derby fan. It's now't to brag about... unlike 14/15. As winter isn't over with yet, it's even hard work for me to proclaim that I'll attend every remaining home game this season. There's still the odd "Bitterly cold winter's mid-week evening" to come yet! I missed a few of those in Young Nigel's latter days. It may come around again this season yet. Of course, my absence (should it happen) won't matter a jot, as I'm not important, and my money's already in the coffers. And regardless of how this season pans out, I'm not currently planning to forego my ST renewal for next season. ... But it's definitely a hard watch. 4th, yer say? Touching distance of auto's, we cry? Cling on folks... there may just be some entertainment around the corner! 🐏
