  1. No mate, that's the other one. This one gets quite good later on! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. I've just emailed you ten bob. Can you pick me up a fish supper on your way home. ๐Ÿ˜
  3. I was just thinking, after reading that first post from @CBRammette, wouldn't it be lovely for "someone" to come on and suggest moving house/resigning/ringing in sick/getting a second job/robbing a bank/syphoning someone's fuel tank after dark/sneaking out of the house under the pretence of nipping out for a bottle of milk! Just a bit more B4, and we could soon have a crowd of 25,000... at least! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ
  4. Wind yer neck in, Blondie! ...There was a post referring to the potential of being in a play off position if we win our game in hand. This was coupled with a question as to "why the owner would be showing concern". You responded with your seemingly negative view... albeit factually correct... that the play offs represent a 75% chance of staying in league one. I repeat... factually correct. I countered your comments with an equally factually correct... but technically of a more positive view... that the play offs represent a 25% chance of promotion, which is good odds, when compared to the number of teams in the league. I didn't notice anywhere within all that anyone referring to Mr Clowes being pleased... presumably you meant with reaching the play offs but not gaining promotion? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'd argue there's considerable leeway between "showing concern" and "being pleased"? "Middle ground", I think they call it? Either way... You can have these back, as I'm not accepting them. Feel free to forward them on to someone more deserving... ๐Ÿ™„
  5. Blimey! This takes me back a fair bit! ... Not so much to when football hooliganism was rife, just back to when I was 7 years old! ๐Ÿคฃ
  6. Or... It gives you a 25% chance of promotion... which ain't too shabby, considering we only make up 4.167% of the number of teams in the division! No wonder the gaffer's gaffer is sticking with the gaffer! ๐Ÿ
  7. This post was not brought to you by either Ron Brooks, or Toyota themselves.
  8. So harsh! So True! So wanted to add a laughing reaction! ๐Ÿ˜ I hope to God our friend and leader knows we are laughing with him, and not at him! xxx
  9. So... The 38th minute of applause sounds great. I'm in! ๐Ÿ But how about following it with a song... a song with meaning, and yet almost no meaning at all. A silly song, if you will! Upbeat, as it should be, that will make absolutely no sense to outsiders... but we know! How B4 is that! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ Quite by chance, one of the silliest songs in living memory (For a few of us! ๐Ÿคฏ ) fits the bill... simple lyrics and catchy tempo... AND gives reference to his hated Rams shirt colour! I'd hope he sees loving banter, rather than all out wind-uppery! ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿค So, who's up for starting this little ditty, as we enter the 39th minute? (*Tune... for you youngsters out there... in the video below.) Letโ€™s have a drink, a drink, a drink, Whilst wearing the pink, the pink, the pink, And raise a glaaaass, for our best mate, B4. For he invented, The scraver and flanges, And ballions too, so hear us roar! Now our mate Daniel, he wasnโ€™t a spaniel, He werenโ€™t a cat, or even butterfly, He was a true Ram, He was a great man, And now heโ€™s gone, it makes us sigh. He wasnโ€™t a reader, but he was our leader, Heโ€™d stand and cheeeeer The Rams to victory So weโ€™ll remember, in every November To sing for Dan, for history. Letโ€™s have a drink, a drink, a drink, Whilst wearing the pink, the pink, the pink, And raise a glaaaass, for our best mate, B4. For he invented, The scraver and flanges, And ballions too, so hear us roar! Perhaps we could finish off with a rendition of this, to the tune of "Two-Nil To The Derby Boys" Be more like the great B4, Be more like the great B4, Be more like the great B4, Be More Like the great beforeโ€ฆ etc, etcโ€ฆ And hey... there's always the option to completely ignore the longer one, and go with the short and simple second option... or no option at all, even! Let's face it, the Sombreros worra roaring success, but I haven't let that go to my head! ๐Ÿคฃ Tune, for reference... #tongue in cheek #love yer, buddy #Top man, Top Ram. ๐Ÿป xxx
  10. The only down side to this thread is the number of folk who have mentioned spirit... and not one of you has mis-spelled it! We all loved flanges and scravers of course, but "Spirt" was a personal favourite of mine. I'm gonna miss that! ๐Ÿ˜ข Anyway... Lots of usernames on here that I simply don't recognise. A couple of dozen previous posts here, a few hundred there. Countless claims of "Don't post very often but..." Numerous lurkers clicking away on their keyboard. Even a few new sign-ups for the sole purpose of passing on their condolences. And a list as long as your arm, of posters who never met the lad... me included... "But felt like we knew him"! I've also very briefly touched on my own PM's shared with B4... all at his behest I hasten to add... and I'll not add to that, as those conversations remain private, suffice to say, I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was (shame on me!) to now learn that he pretty much contacted anyone and everyone that had posted of the merest hint of troubles in their own lives... whilst the lad himself arguably suffered more than most. Every word in this thread points to someone special. Of that, there is no doubt. Unique. Caring to the core. One of a kind, amongst many of a kindred spirt! (๐Ÿ˜‰) Arguably, the clearest evidence of that eons old adage "You don't know what you have until it's gone". I hope to God that if he didn't know then, he knows now! It's clear how his being... and now his parting soul... has touched so many of us. He truly will be forever remembered. xxx
  11. A stranger we had yet to meet. Our paths had never crossed. And yet, it seems, we knew him well, A dear friend we have lost. A heart of gold, a Kindly soul, A friendly word to each. A clumsy gaff may oft appear, But neโ€™er offence be reached. A call to arms, a plea for fight, A positive embrace. Defiant stance, a pumping fist, A smile on his face. Hatred of pink, and all things red, More strangers for him to meet. โ€œA sea of black and whiteโ€ heโ€™d call, โ€œLetโ€™s all stand at our seatโ€! A disregard for marriage, for relationships of two, โ€œNever, everโ€ he would wail, โ€œThat would never doโ€! Yet he loved all, and we loved him. His quirks always forgiven, His stubbornness frustrated, But missed, now heโ€™s in Heaven. The truest Ram, amongst us all, Now gone for evermore. For Daniel, for DCFC Letโ€™s all be more B4 xxx ๐Ÿ๐Ÿค
  12. So, it seems it wasnโ€™t just me he was looking out for when posting about my own troubles on here. It appears heโ€™s PMโ€™d pretty much every one of us in our hours of need, and offered his unique advise to us allโ€ฆ and all in private! B4 the agony aunt! Who knew! ๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธ
  13. Just come on to catch up on the afternoon's "Great day at the office", and was immediately hit with this thunderbolt! Utterly gutted! ๐Ÿ˜ข Yes, he's wound me up in the past, on occasion. Sometimes I've had a nibble at him. Sometimes I've bit my tongue and said nowt. But oh so much more than that, his total and utter positivity was never disregarded, and his loyalty to, and passion for, DCFC was never... ever... doubted. I'm not ashamed to say, He's been... and will remain for eternity... more of a Ram than I'll ever be. ๐Ÿ Such devastating news does indeed put everything into perspective. Today's game comes a distant second behind this... even to the point that I'm really not in the mood any more, for a catch up on the matchday thread... but do you know what... today was precisely the sort of performance and result that would have delighted him... and just what he would normally have predicted with his blind, unwavering faith. Despite my mood, I'm gonna read the lot... and read every single word in his memory... with a raised glass in hand! ๐Ÿป I hope you were watching from above, B4, (Of course you were... silly me!) and I hope it put a massive grin on your face... and a spring in your step, now you are finally free at last, from your physical pains. Feel free to bellow through the clouds "I told you so"! ๐Ÿ˜ I'm sure many of us will mark your gut-wrenching passing in any number of ways in the coming matches... be that privately and/or publicly, and it is no less than you deserve. I won't hesitate to twirl my scraver in your honour at future games, and my DCFC flange will forever be at half mast. Sleep well, dear Buddy. Up The Rams. See you at the promotion party. xxx ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿป๐Ÿ
  14. That was one of my first thoughts, in all honesty. ๐Ÿ‘ If we do get them, I'd be very tempted to "slip on them", and put in a claim! The only thing putting me off is that I'd be suing my Beloved Derby County. Not sure my principles run that strongly! Had it been Sainsburys, B&M, Tesco, or any other similar place, I wouldn't be so put off! ๐Ÿ‘€
  15. Apologies for going off topic, but... A "word of warning" for those planning on buying poppies but haven't yet... this according to Muckerette, who was selling them the other day in the intu... Apparently with all this modern day abhorrence for "single use plastics", The common or garden standard Poppy has gone all "Paper-Only"... and is a bit of a let down, by all accounts. (A bit like those crappy new-fangled cotton bud things! LOL!) A few folk bringing them back with a bit of a moan. Second hand info technically, so apologies if I'm wrong. My advice... which is worth the square root of eff all, but hey Ho... is to consider a slightly larger donation*, and opt for one of the metal versions, or the more robust/longer life plastic versions. *Typically, Poppies (at the RBL stalls) don't come with a fixed price, and are more reliant on the buyer "making a donation". ...And yes, there are still some out there who are happy to walk away with a Poppy having donated 2p! Hey, that's not for me to comment on, other than I'm also happy to report that some are happy to lob in a fiver/tenner/twenty... which is nice! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿป
  16. I'm a big poppy fan myself... but never been keen on forcing it on folk. As it stands, the whole on-pitch Last Post, uniformed Ram Mascot, Ranked soldiers, silent reflection etc can be ignored by those who don't agree. Not so easy to ignore if one of those poppy petals are on your seat... and a dead cert to be booed (or worse) if you don't hold it aloft! It's unfair to force this on folk in these seats, as disappointing as it is for me to write that! Yeah, I'd have loved to have seen it, and much respect to those that tried to organise it, but it wasn't the wisest move by the club/SLO to have agreed to it in the first place. Those of us that do like to display the poppy will already be doing so. That in itself should be enough. xxx
  17. Oh dear! ๐Ÿ˜ข Thanks for the update, I guess! I've since seen that police have closed their investigation "due to lack of evidence". I'm not a twixter, so I don't get afforded the opportunity to see the 377 replies in your link above... But the headline/OP doesn't look good, even if it is "only twitter". (A very quick Google search just now brings nothing else up on these lying/fraud claims, but I'm sure they will appear as the day goes by (on news feeds). So yeah... looks like I've been duped on this one (not for the first time!) but my point still stands. One bad egg does not a Poppy seller hater make! There's saddos in all walks of life I guess. I'll still be out on my bike later this morning, and I still have my phone alarm set so I don't miss the 11am stop and reflect custom, wherever we may be at that time. #Can't win 'em all, eh? ๐Ÿ˜ข
  18. I'm pretty certain Wayne Rooney was from that neck of the woods too? Oh... and this guy was apparently born in Jarrow... but he sure as hell looks like a scouser to me! ๐Ÿ‘€ *Posted before checking other replies, hence repeating the Rooney bit! Soz! ๐Ÿ™„
