  1. Gutted! 😒 Been roped in to an "unavoidable" site meeting for 10:30 Monday in Swad.🀬 First off, I know B4 would suggest there is no such thing as "unavoidable", and to get my arse over to PPS to simultaneously introduce myself to him (we never met) and wave him goodbye. 😒 Secondly, I hope there's a great turnout from those less unreliable than me, and that my absence goes unnoticed. He deserves nothing less than a bloody good turn out, and a bloody good send off. I repeat... Gutted! 😒 #whataletdown
  2. Is the answer: β€œThe 3 worst teams to come to Pride Park ever, ever, ever”? πŸ‘€
  3. I think you'll find they were a band. It's a bit obvious, seeing as the band name is emblazoned across the bottom of their flag. πŸ™„ #thingscanonlygetbetter... no... seriously!
  4. I have that effect on a lot of women! πŸ‘€ If it makes it any easier for you (What a stupid thing to say! πŸ™„), I've had "A wee moment to myself" today, as it's the 4th anniversary of the first of my 4 sisters leaving us. We lost both parents way, way too early, so I always assumed... by way of recompense, I guess... that the 5 of us siblings would last forever! I can't tell you just how heavily it hit me, when it happened... and she wasn't even my favourite sis! πŸ˜‰ You'll know all the clichΓ©s, so I'll not force them on to you here, but you know where we are, when you need us. (*Ooops... that's one, innit!). I suspect there are many on here with their own experiences, and their own wise words of comfort, so never be tempted to bottle those feelings up. That ain't healthy! ... And the beauty of this place is that, when you do fancy a moment to yourself, you can flick a switch and we're all out of your hair! How perfect are we! πŸ˜‰ #one day at a time. xxx 🀍
  5. It’s never easy, Claire, but it does help (immensely) to enjoy the memories. Rule No1 in my book is never feel guilty about smiling… or laughing… about our lost loved ones. Yes, that in itself may sometimes lead to tears and literal heartache, but occasionally to more smiles, and more laughter. It feels bad. It feels wrong. But in reality, it’s healthy. It’s normal. The next few days in particular will no doubt feel like a roller coaster… physically and mentally. None of us can stop the ride, but we can hold your hand and help you through it. Stay strong for your parents, for Daniel, and most importantly for yourself. We’re all here for you. You’re our sister now. xxx 🀍
  6. Don't even know whether I'm going as yet. πŸ™„ I've volunteered for a relay run helping laddo on his long-winded journey home from Kyiv to Les Landes... via Krakow ✈️ > Schiphol ✈️ > works Xmas do in Glasgow (3 day bender), then πŸš… to Derby Friday pm > Dad's πŸš™ to Chaddo (one night only 😒), before I πŸš™ him to Brum ✈️ "Sometime on Saturday"*, for his ongoing journey via Dublin ✈️, to Bordeaux ✈️, for his nouvelle mariΓ©e to pick him up for his final πŸš— leg back to the marital home in Les Landes. 😴 *No idea what time his Brum flight is, but I could hardly say no, 🐏 home fixture or no home fixture! 🀣
  7. Sorry, but I have to ask... Anyone know if there's anywhere to get fish and chips nearby? πŸ‘€πŸ€
  8. No wonder you ain’t had time to respond to posts! 😲 πŸ‘€
  9. Is it ok if I take my post from the Port Vale matchday thread, and move it to here? Hope nobody minds! πŸ‘€

    Paul Simpson

Carlisle boss Paul Simpson has criticised supporters who abused him at the end of the 3-0 defeat at Blackpool. The Cumbrians have won just three times this season and lie three points from safety in League One... The supporters reacted badly to their fourth defeat in five games and Simpson said he "did not deserve to go over in front of our supporters" and be abused with offensive words and gestures. The former Derby County and Manchester City player was also unhappy that on-loan Crystal Palace striker Luke Plange was subjected to ironic cheers when substituted in the second half. Said Simpson: "I don't expect our supporters, who have been absolutely magnificent, to cheer and applaud when we sub a 21-year-old striker on loan from a Premier League club. "That's not how we support Carlisle United. I think they've got a very short memory because when I came back into this football club it was on its knees. "They all wanted to turn up and support us when the good times were going, when we had runs of wins and got into play-off semi-finals and finals, and win at Wembley and are suddenly in League One. "They all want to cheer for that and enjoy that and now we're having a sticky patch suddenly people want to make gestures like that. "I'll be honest with you, I don't need that in my life, I don't need that at all, so I'm not happy about that. "It wasn't a few, it was a lot of people. We are struggling, let's be honest, but [Saturday] we did not lose because of a lack of effort and I don't care what anybody on that far side [of the ground] thinks about that. "I don't even think the tactics were wrong, it was individual mistakes and we had opportunities and half-opportunities and if we had been clinical in both boxes that may not have happened. Asked if he might walk away from the club if the abuse continues, Simpson refused to answer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67675547
  11. There was indeed. Left back if I recall? πŸ‘ ...And an actor too, I believe. Spelt the same as me, If I'm not mistaken? ... Oh... and lots of pubs... named after Bambi's great Grandfather! 🀣
  12. It would be an absolute honour, Claire. πŸ€πŸπŸ‘ Name is Ian Hart. xxx
  13. Having now caught up on the latter 4 or 5 pages... I love the term "Ramily". Don't be surprised to see me plagiarising that soon and often on here. I truly believe... hand on heart... that PW's "humour" is known, understood, appreciated by, and acceptable to the vast majority... if not all... of the players and backroom staff. It's merely a case of "getting to know him", which appears to now be the case. I therefore truly believe that when he makes a "tongue-in-cheek dig" at a player, they don't take it personally and/or in a negative way, and also know that he does so purely and solely to wind up @RoyMac5... and he's doing a fantastic job of it, it has to be said. I bet that WhatsApp group is full of pointy/laughy emojis! πŸ‘€ PW gets a 5* rating from me, on that score. Top Wummery, sir. 🀣
  14. Hear hear. Leaves us closer to one ("The winner"), and only 1 point further away from the other ("The loser"). If we're gonna catch up, we may as well catch them both! ... And it fits the tune better... We're coming for you, We're coming for you-ooo-oo Pompey AND Bolton... We're coming for you! 🐏
  15. That is absolutely shocking! Has he not heard you'll get varicose veins, sat like that! Jesus H etc, etc...
  16. I don't deny it wasn't warranted. I am not claiming it was lucky (for us)... unlike many who did claim just that... at the time. At the very least, many were a little non-plussed as to why it was given. Posters and professional commentators alike. That to me screams that it wasn't "clear"... in real time. Yes, it turns out it was a warranted Red card. Yes, the team of officials got it right (Praise The Lord!). Yes, with hindsight, and those extra camera angles that have apparently now been aired, it is 100% clear to all and sundry. If that makes me a hair splitter, then so be it. At 60, I'm just relieved to still have hair-a-plenty to split. πŸ‘€
  17. Not sure it was clear... at the time, that is? Comments on here immediately following the incident (presumably by those watching on TV?) seemed to heavily suggest we were fortunate. The main TV angle was apparently not the most conclusive (for this particular and specific incident)? I hear the Rams TV guys (and RD?) weren't convinced... initially. By all accounts, it was given on the strength of what the 4th official saw, not what the ref saw? It appears it only became "clear" (To Joe Public et al) with the intervention of the 4th official, other camera angles being aired, replays, and 20-20 hindsight. I could be wrong... only seen the one snippet on here. 🐏
  18. Is that xG goals? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ That's nigh on 30% out, compared to reality, innit? That's quite a chunk out of line, in my book! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
