Having a billionaire owner won't automatically make everyone happy, otherwise Mike Ashley wouldn't have been drummed out of Newcastle and Arsenal fans wouldn't be unhappy with Stan Kroenke. For now, we just need someone with the funds to buy the club and the integrity and know-how to run it properly on at least a break-even basis. If they have the money to fund losses within ffp limits and invest in infrastructure too, that'd be a bonus.

LazloW reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town to sue Derby County
Charlton Athletic are set to sue Derby County for £25 million after the ball burst in the 1946 FA Cup Final. If it hadn’t burst then we might have won or got some good players or something, said a Charlton spokesman. Meanwhile Ipswich Town also announced they were going to sue Derby County due to some reason or other. We might have won more games if they hadn’t beaten us in them, cited an Ipswich spokesman. It simply wasn’t fair that they had better players and scored more goals. We want £40 million and Martyn Waghorn back.
Meanwhile American fast food chain McDonalds announced that they were going to sue Derby County for fielding a player with their brand name. Flagrant breach of copyright, claimed a spokesman for the evil corporation.
In other news the EFL announced a further 9 points deduction for Derby County after the midlands side finished their 0-0 draw against Swansea with 5 full backs on the pitch. Everyone knows you should have two full backs, said a source close to Rick Parry. Derby ended the game with 5 players who full back could be considered their tecognised position. That is clearly too many. We checked the rules but couldn’t find anything specific about this so we all agreed that 3 points per extra full back sounded about right.

Meanwhile Wycombe have announced they aren’t going to sue Derby County for getting them relegated by buying Nick Blackman when they were two leagues below after they realised it was totally ridiculous and so far fetched as to be laughable.

Sorry all this self flaggelation is really annoying. We narrowly lost four play off ties in six years to teams who all spent more than us. So the point was we never had any financial advantage over the teams we were competing with (including Middlesborough) however hard we may have tried.

A great point away at Coventry. I thought we started brightly, and were the better team without creating too much, until the Coventry penalty.
Seen them given, but it was a bit soft. Just like us after the goal, we seemed to wilt and let Coventry's press undo us time after time. Players who were great on Tuesday - Jozwiak, Shinnie, Lawrence in particular - struggled with the lack of time they got on the ball. Only the central defenders and the reliable Bird went in at half time with head held high.
A shout out for the Coventry crowd, really got behind their team from all sides of the ground. A big contrast with the last time I was there when the place was three quarters empty against Swindon. That was only three years ago - what a transformation. There's no wonder they've won every home game with that noise behind them.
I wasn't looking forward to the second half, it felt like the gap was wider than a single goal. For that, we need to credit our defence, and that gave us the platform we needed to come back into the game.
The Derby fans seemed to know what was needed, and started to sing. It still took a change of personnel, coupled with a tiring Coventry press, but Colin made an immediate impact with the great turn and scuffed shot hitting the post. That seemed to spark the game to life, for both sides. They nearly scored, hitting the bar from a free kick (Lawrence, take note!) but we had much more attacking intent too with Bird dominating, Shinnie starting to find the passes at last,  Sibley moving the ball on much quicker than Jozwiak and Morrison suddenly coming into the game more.
I felt the goal was coming, and was so pleased it was Shinza who got it. He works so hard and his roar of Pride to the Derby fans was a special moment to share!
I don't think we had enough about us to get a winner, but thankfully neither did they, and for once a draw felt like the right result. It's good to see Coventry doing well after their recent troubles and wish them well for the rest of the season.
I didn't know there'd been crowd trouble as I was down on the left, but just to say if it was on the right divide, the Derby fans there would have been cash pay on the day, so presumably untraceable. Just saying!

I'm a Sky Blue... Born Chaddy and moved to North of Coventry at the age of 2. Not sure I'm allowed a second team but have always looked out for your results and been a bit narked that DCFC never seem to make the big time despite the fantastic fan base.   My first game was a 0-0 in 1974 FA Cup tie at Highfield Rd.   Went today.  I agree with this comment and as the second half went on it looked like County would draw level.  A brief moment of entertainment in the stands was the side show before the goal.  Derby looked big in defence and fair play for commanding the best part of the second half.  City had a penalty call but it was waived away.  Hit the bar and had a goal disallowed.  But Derby were worth their draw.  Hope off the pitch problems get sorted out so that you stay up.

Well nobody can say we're easy to beat. Whatever the situation, I think you have to be happy with a point away.  I'm sure if we keep this up the wins will start coming (but then I was also sure we'd never go into administration and Cocu was going to be a massive success so my recent predictions have been pretty poo).

I just think many people are misinterpreting the rules that's all.
At no point has it been confirmed that we are restricted to a 23 man squad, only that to play a Cashin or a Thompson would create another player "of professional standing" for the purposes of deciding whether we are able to register a signing whilst still under embargo.

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t really think it is just answer 4 that is a cop out either.
It is a bit like the EFL - not really answering the question being asked adequately because he realises that an honest answer might make him feel foolish or be quoted back to him at a later date.
I would relish being the barrister arguing these, and other, points in a court of law. A proper court rather than a kangaroo one. I think between the posters here there are so many inconsistencies and questions raised, I can only imagine what a highly paid legal team will manage to uncover.
So many things don’t quite sit right and do I’m afraid make it appear that the EFL is either supremely incompetent or is making decisions based on something other than applying the rules fairly, whatever that might be.
Lets not forget that Peter Ridsdale allegedly spent more on goldfish than Jagielka’s monthly wage. What a bastion of financial common sense he is. I wonder how much he would have paid Nick Blackman!
The whole thing could have been avoided if the EFL realised they had cocked up, held their hands up and amended the regs so it was straight line amortisation from the year after an independent panel found us not guilty. Instead they expressed their disappointment that we had been found not to have done anything wrong.
    Anyway. Up the Rams.

There is unlikely to be a true vendetta. But there has been a complete mismanagement of the process from start to finish. It isn’t helped that there have been a number of fingers in the pie that shouldn’t have been (Gibson and others who aren’t even connected to a football club, but just seem like professional ? stirrers). These people have been like dogs with bones and the upshot is that the EFL have been suckered into prolonging the agony far more than was either necessary  or - given they had agreed our approach for years - fair.
Frankly I’m surprised that the club didn’t decide to challenge the legality of the whole process in the courts and step outside the clearly not-fit-for-purpose rules or processes, the actions of the EFL and the dubious influence of people outside the process. Somebody will at some point (and perhaps even the whole concept of FFP which seems - to a layman like me - as unfair restraint of trade).

4 is a cop out, if ever I saw one.
What about every club that's ever breached FFP ? Is it right that every other club affected can sue? There'd be no clubs left!
