Very pertinent questions that need answering IMO as it shouldn’t be a closed shop for the Charter Group meetings which involve certain groups only.
I think the fans should be kept informed especially after what has happened regarding administration etc

Is there any planned meetings between our owner, guardian and saviour with the supporters groups?
If so, there are so many questions that I am sure many would like to ask, particularly about the plans for the future of the club.
So, to get started, my questions would focus on the manager. Nope, I hope this doesn't become yet another Rosenior versus Warne thread; I would just like to better understand Clowes' thinking and whether promotion is a short term goal or the bigger picture involves restructuring of the entire football club, no matter how long that takes. So...
Was it not possible to appoint Warne during the summer so that he could assemble the squad that he would have wanted? Did Warne assure him that he could work with the current squad or is he expecting a lot of trading during upcoming transfer windows? (And follow up: how frustrating would that be?). Does he and Warne put much emphasis on the Academy, including recruitment of young talent and Category 1 status? Was the aim promotion this season or, given Warne's 4 year contract, the bigger picture is the Derby County rebuild with promotion as and when it happens? Are targets - e.g. regarding league position, academy graduates breaking into the first team - being set? Onto more general things: over what timescales does he see himself as the owner? Having been reluctant in the first instance, would he be looking to sell? Soon? In the Championship? In the Premier League? Given Warne's title is Head Coach rather than Manager, will the club be appointing a Director of Football to oversee transfers, playing strategies etc?

It's not really about his ethos on bringing through players though. I genuinely have no idea on how well he did that at Rotherham, or whether it was even a priority there.
It's about the type of players that are coming through.  All those players I've named, you can instantly see where they fit into Rosenior's system - they just need to step up and do the same things there were doing for the youth teams at senior level.  They're going to have to either completely change their style of play, or learn a new position, to fit into Warne's system. So it's a much bigger ask.

The thing with the academy is, there's something like a 5-10 year lag on actually seeing real results.  You want to be picking up 10-12 year olds (no sniggering at the back...) and developing them so they break through as 18-20 year olds.  Obviously with a bit of recruiting older players to fill gaps, or when we spot a genuine talent etc.
If you look at what the academy has been producing lately, it's mostly been fullbacks (Lowe, Bogle, Buchanan), wingers (Festy, Ebiowei) and small technical midfielders (Bird, Thompson,  Robinson).  None of those types of players really fit into Warne's preferred high-intensity 352 system.  So we either carry on with the academy as it is, and accept that there's no real path into the first team (which hampers recruitment of young players), or re-tool the academy in the hope that we're still playing that system in 5 years time and haven't switched back to a possession-heavy 433 or something.
if you *really* want your academy to work, you have to have a rough style of play in mind for the entire club, and recruit players for it (senior and academy), recruit managers that play it and so on.  if you chop and change every 5 minutes, you may as well not bother having an academy.

We aren't allowed to be critical of players, manager or even owner decisions? If not, how long are we supposed to wait before we can?
In my opinion, no one should be beyond criticism. In the current situation, that includes the manager who isn't getting as much out of these players as the previous manager and has made several odd comments regarding the players, and the owner who chose to appoint a manager who wants to implement a style not suited to the squad, a decision which will seriously impact other elements of the club which have been a major plus in recent years (academy and fan unity).

Basically I started this thread because Nick Webster (flag man and nice guy ) was sticking up for Warne and Derby County whilst discussing situation with Radio Derbys Dave Fletcher.
Of course I would agree with him regarding the club recovering from administration turmoil and the quality of players Liam Rosenior was able to sign late on due to EFL restrictions due  to business plan.

I still think wa are allowed as fans though to discuss team performance manager and tactics like for instance who should play RB and what system Paul employs say against Bristol tomorrow.

I know Paul and his staff working with the players will be doing this and I for one liked his interview pre Bristol on RamsTV.

Really wasn’t any need for this, especially defending your loyalty.
You’ve taken it personally when I wasn’t singling you out for starting the poll, I was talking about the general chatter across the online fanbase (here, Facebook, Twitter) on Warne’s back already is going to make us look very silly one month into his tenure.

I can't get my head around why LR didn't get more time. I thought we were playing good, entertaining football and just needed to be a bit more clinical in the box.
That said, Liam has gone and we have Paul Warne. I like him, he's engaging and charismatic and that must bring some energy into the dressing room.
I do feel we have a team of Championship players who are now being asked to play league one football. The players we have are skilful and that skill is not being utilised.
If you are going to play "lump-the-ball-up" football you have to categorically win the 50-50 and second balls. To win the 50-50 and second balls you need big, physical, intimidating players, not the quick footed, agile, skilful players.
All good teams play to their strengths - I don't think we are doing that under PW.

Some excellent points made on this thread.
As a general rule I hate changing managers & am loathe to call for Warne's head until well into next year - results haven't been that bad at all but the mood around the club is starting to darken. What disturbs me most is the lack of pragmatism which suggests he has one way of playing & isn't prepared to adjust that for the players he has at his disposal.
In time Warne may well be successful here but I don't believe that will be this season. He needs at least 2 windows to bring in the type of players he needs (made harder by the EFL imposed business plan) & a full pre-season to implement the style he believes will win games. Not unlike Bielsa at Leeds, I'd expect us next August to hit the ground running but the question is do the fans & Board have the patience to withstand a tricky few months until then knowing that the style is always likely to be crude even if results do start to go our way eventually. Then we have the longer term consideration of the effect on the Academy (what kind of players do we now need to churn out) & whether Warneball is our preferred long-term style i.e. if Warne doesn't work out, we would need to appoint another high intensity, direct coach given the players he is likely to have at the club if he is here longer than a year.
I think the Board need to have a thorough review of their 3 year plan for DCFC - some (including the media) will have assumed Warne was brought in to get a quick promotion but I'd argue he is going to take just as long as Rosenior would but with more upheaval throughout the club & fanbase. Is that what they wanted when they made the appointment? I doubt it.

Against Exeter we had a free kick with 15 mins to go and Warne waved Roberts into the box, with just the free kick taker (Hourihane?) behind the ball, they broke from the free kick and Fozzy had to sprint 70 yards to stop a shot a goal.
It simply isn't sustainable with this squad.

1-0 up at Accrington. Throw-in high up the pitch with all three CBs in the area. We lose the ball and all three have to sprint back into defence. Still no more running than before?
Injury prone players have to be managed carefully. Getting them to do high intensity drills in training, then expecting them to last 90 minutes of high intesity football during games on a consistent basis is just asking for trouble.

I'd have Osula rather than Dobbin, at least he looks like he knows how to score and if given the ball has plenty of pace and skill. And I'd most certainly have Bird rather than the static Hourihane.

At least the manager reacted on Tuesday to the situation at half time and changed the system .
We were better 2nd half but as Roy pointed out moving Smith to RB worked but reduced creativity in midfield.
For me Odura would be good at RB in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with Roberts at LB .
Can Forsyth play 2 games in 4 days I don’t know so Stearman might come in to partner Cash .
I have no right to tell Paul what to do as he has experience and I just have a fan’s view point and I don’t see training day in day out and know fitness of players etc .
Is Paul Warne adaptable to the situation at the moment because I sure hope he is and Bristol Rovers are no pushover .

You'd have hoped he'd have the brains to have done that from the beginning. He knew the players hadn't had 'his preseason', and that they weren't as athletic as he'd like. So why is he trying to get a bunch of inexperienced youngsters and 'vunerable' older players to be so athletic?
Where is recognition of the results of this? Does it need such a big stick to find out who is in and who is out? Esprcially when as has been said most here are potentially only here short term?
