Curtains reacted to jono in Nathan Byrne
I want Nathan to stay, it’s hanging in the balance like the rest of the championship. It’s the bus from the Italian job .. and we are hanging out of the back.
The only way to work with FFP is by the book .. which then means fans say “these owners have no ambition”
So along comes a rich man with money to spend, that he isn’t allowed to spend, so they have to find ways round it.
We spent loads of money, rather badly it seems
We are now under scrutiny, for having the nerve to find ways round it
One cunning plan (the stadium) succeeded
The issue beyond the EFL’s vendetta is that the rich mans tree has been plucked, the stadium re buy was the last of the money

Curtains reacted to Spanish in It's not 5 it's 4! Choose again.
I think he was 12 last time we were not under embargo?

Derby took up an option to extend I would imagine.
Davies and Wisdom are out of contract and I wouldn’t sign them. Thats my opinion

He is very good and maybe we weren’t under embargo then

Curtains got a reaction from RAM1966 in Please don’t blame Morris and Pearce.
Noticed some people having a go .
We are Derby fans and we should stick together and back the Club
Its easy to be derogatory about the owners in this situation but the real enemy is the EFL
They are an absolute joke of an institution and don’t get me started on Steve Gibson and Wycombe Wanderers

Curtains got a reaction from jono in Has the transfer embargo been lifted?
Like I said in the Byrne thread Mel believed in FFP

Yes but he’s stuck between the water and the deep blue sea.
I think this will play out over years to come .
The tawdry EFL are the main problem in my eyes.
PS Looking forward to Alfreton Game tonight

Ok fair enough I don’t think any of us know Mels health state at the moment but the pressure on him has been immense IMO .
Now let’s just look at this regarding his financial situation because I’ve asked these questions.
Im not sure the finances are the problem but it’s the EFL and their intransigence towards DCFC .
Even if Mel paid the HMRC which incidentally Covid indirectly caused and I would imagine other clubs have similar situations then our problems are still not resolved as we have to resubmit our accounts using a straight line amortization and the EFL could still pounce
No I just see the EFL wanting to destroy Derby ,
The EFL should be the angst of Derby fans not Mel .

We won’t be able to take him as the cost won’t be compatible with the embargo

Curtains reacted to Dean (hick) Saunders in Choose your 5
Guess it depends on how friendly we are with MU as well. Also factors are what option gives best chance of player development. (EG. West Brom bench vs Rams pitch).

The amortisation charge is a load of baalocks .
Our accounts were signed off 3 years running and what did we get 100K fine retrospectively for not being clear enough.
As for the stadium sale we were cleared.
EFL are just vindictive against us because MM batted against the TV deal in the media.
