Agree totally
as u say 3 times is basically attempted murder and I’m amazed a judge or jury can’t see that and punish accordingly

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe until recently, in some parts of the world it was possible to walk into a Tesla dealership and buy a car using bitcoin.

Unsurprisingly, this doesn't appear to be quite as honest as it might be. Not like these big companies to come up with ways to legally lie their way to bigger profits! Incidentally, I also signed up to a 100% renewable power provider - it was more expensive but I thought I was doing a good thing. Then I got an email a year later saying that they had ceased trading and I was being auto-switched to EDF
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-7507443/How-check-100-renewable-electricity-really-green.html
I think the word allegedly is definitely doing the heavy lifting there ? Again difficult to prove otherwise though, but interesting that all the major power companies are now mining bitcoin with their excess energy. I don't doubt that there is acknowledgement of crypto needing to be more efficient. Is it Ethereum that is trying to change the way it mines to use less power?
But anyway - the point is that as BTC gets nearer the 21m limit it takes more and more power to mine the coins and we end up with yet another system that favours the "already rich" who can afford the largest computing power, and craps on the little people who kinda mighta needed that electricity to heat their homes and cook their tea
Yeah that's the only sane way to approach these things - in that way it's exactly the same as gambling.
Interesting that they aren't regulated but are insured instead. In the world of crypto where prices can have insane swings, they are insured against you losing your wallet, but not if your wallet suddenly becomes worth buttons because the bubble bursts!

My electricity company seem v proud in telling me every invoice I get that 100% of my electricity needs come from renewable sources
to add … allegedly 70% of mined Bitcoin comes from renewable sources
but your point is totally valid

Incorrect
people pay fees and commission to borrow money to leverage trades
in order to do this they use decentralised platforms that allow a form of peer to peer lending
the fees distributed between the platform and the customers that stake the money
there is risk involved as this is all done on smart contracts
the platforms … or more reputable ones are insured for millions … they are not regulated and IMO I consider it money I might probably won’t see if it went bad .. so limit my exposure
Risk to reward etc

I don’t use plastic bags and my energy company regularly inform me 100% of my electricity comes from renewable sources … ie they get it for free .. at no cost to the environment
which kinda takes the piss when they keep putting it up every year lol

I would go as far as to agree with your statement that it is a "sophisticated form of betting". You could probably say that about anything where money is speculated in a way to accumulate though. No one knows what will happen in the lottery, sports betting, stocks or Crypto.

Yeah, for me it is all about disposable income - I can chuck the odd £50 here or there but aren't really in a position to potentially throw anything more at it.

Got into Crypto at the start of this year by buying some Ripple just before the dump. I've since grown my portfolio to Cardano, Ethereum, Binance coin, Bitcoin, Zilliqa and Ripple. It is pretty much my savings account this moment in time and was going amazingly during the bull run. Now we are in a bit of a bear market so things aren't going the way they were. I've also mined about $250 worth of Ethereum in a month which was a nice little pump for my holdings as well.
Edit: missing a word.

I joked in the Abu Derby thread that we'd still be mucking about with takeovers over the summer.
It was meant to be a joke. Not an accurate prediction.

NottsRam77 got a reaction from May Contain Nuts in Jack Marriott, Jordon Ibe, Bobby Duncan
I hear what ur saying and partially agree.
I think his game is more one demiensional than waghorns, I mean waghorn can play out wise or through the middle and although last season was largely a write off for him historically at this level he has shown competence in both those roles, I would say waghorns game is a little more rounded because of that
cocus style for someone like Marriott was totally the anti style of how he would socire his goals
look at that Norwich away winner, as I said the Leeds goals
he’s on the shoulder of the last man ... it’s hard to do that when that last man is about 18 yards from goal and there’s 10 men infront of him cos our ponderous play had allowed the opposition to re group
I’m not saying Marriott will be a success here but if he had a style ... and I mean see his goals for the posh too I would have him in that category

Get him some service and players around him
release the ball quicker
he’s a Bobby Davidson / dean Saunders type of player ... blink and their in type
he’s a sniffer, looks for opportunities
Cocus style was the very last thing he wanted, slow build up with all of their players behind the ball and no space in behind to get into those little pockets
Channel balls and in behind
see his goals against Leeds as the perfect example of what type of finisher he is

There are three players with differing issues and a lot of potential.
Does anyone know if we still have a sports psychologist? I know we used to have one.
Duncan - seems to think he made it without making anything. Looks like he had a lot of bad advice, would probably benefit from a League 1 loan to see if he can hit the target a bit - depends if his ego would allow it.
Ibe - I think the odds of him playing for Derby are low. Nobody wants this to be the case, does he need an arm around him? A mentor? Can't we send him to live with Curtis Davies or Jonno? If he gets his head right and is shown some love, he could be immense. It's a big IF. Part of me wouldn't be surprised if he's cut in the coming weeks.
Marriott - Almost feels a bit similar to Ibe. Rooney 'wrote' last weekend that he got rid of some players in January that he didn't feel were positive for the club. Marriott obviously close to Duane Holmes, Jack's wife being the sister of Duane's Mrs, I believe.
For me, if these three are part of the retained list, get them playing. Give them a run. It's the only way.
