It might help your argument slightly  if you quoted the right ‘James Collins’ !!! 😂😂

Absolutely agree - last season our overall general play and build up play was designed specifically for the attributes of McGoldrick’s, because our lack of squad depth meant we couldn’t play any differently. Also our piss poor crossing, corner and free kick quality had a huge negative and impact on the number of goals we scored. Warne sees this, I see this - it’s obvious that our game plan and specific abilities played to Collins strengths. Warne has addressed that in acquiring players who can put quality crosses in to the dangerous situations that Collins will excel at or feed other supporting players.
I’m looking forward to asking people to request a big slice of humble pie !!! 🤗🐏

  3. Well this kid Kane certainly has a full range of tricks and lots of ability looking at his YouTube clips. Looks a very exciting prospect for me - I think it’s a brilliant piece of business. I’m never going to be negative about Knight, as he’s been great for us and his Utility status has been brilliant in filling in varying positions. However his varied position diversity, for me, has meant he’s no ever excelled in any one position and made it his own, which is the reason he’s  not gone for huge money and no Prem team has ever had him on their radar. Even at international level he’s a fill in utility player. I wish him well though and will be as pleased as anyone if he proves me wrong.
His sale and money used correctly could be the catalyst that takes the club back up and that is they bigger picture 🐏😃

  4. One of the main reasons why a traditional No9 type of player couldn’t score a shed load of goals last season was predominately because non of our wide players , wing backs or corner takers could cross their proverbial legs !!
That was one of the things that drive me absolutely mad last season - I lost count how many times a cross was hit too far or behind the goal - truly shocking.
Also considering his supposed prowess from a dead ball situation Hourihane’s corners were absolutely shocking all season.
Also the way we set up to maximise McHoldricks strengths meant we couldn’t play 2 up top ie a No9 because we didn’t have the type of players in midfield to play to that strength - generally we played with 2 holding midfielders who generally played the bs sideways to wide players who couldn’t cross a ball and that would have been no use whatsoever for McGoldrick because he generally had a deeper free role as a No10.
Hopefully this season those shortfalls will have been addressed with players who can cross a ball and midfielders who are far more positive going forward.
We only need one holding midfielder and two more positive attacking midfielders.
I understand why we played 2 holding midfielders - that was because we literally had no pace at Centre Half, and they needed additional support.

I wouldn’t be that thrilled if we spent what little we have on someone like Langstaff. Seen him play a handful of times and he reminds me so much of Jack Marriott in play style. Completely useless outside the box in most circumstances. Not someone we need, and a little bit of a relic in today’s game. Maybe he could change up his style but he is 26 already.

To be fair Gary Lineker was like an abandoned Shopping Trolly outside the penalty box, but inside the box he was always in the right place to score shed loads of goals - don’t know much about Langstaff, but his stats suggest he knows where the onion bag is 🤔🐏

  6. I bought two of the original Turnstiles from the old Normanton End, which was originally built and called Catchem’s Corner when it was a Baseball Ground before it became a football ground. My friend had one of them and I’ve still got the other one in my garden - I had mine refurbished 20yrs ago and it stands in my garden and I live it. I think there were only 10 of the original Turnstiles and they are a thing of beauty - I think mine had about 20+ layers of paint on it and when properly stripped it revealed such lovely intricate casting with lots of detailed. Mine has over 800k on the counter which is pretty amazing to think of each and every person that passed through the Turnstile that sits in my garden. Then you times the number on mine by all the other Turnstile’s around the old BBG and that total number added up must be several million - truly remarkable for what was a regional industrial town !! 🐏🤗

  7. Of only we had plzyete who could actually cross a fevent ball and take a decent corner - our crossing is abysmal  N M-L, Sibley, Dobbin, even Bird ffs.

Only Roberts and Barks can cross  ball - this is one of the reasons why we haven't scored enough goals !!

  8. I think it’s all irrelevant now - not a hope in hell of making the playoffs.
Looking at the Fixtures and Peterborough being 2pts ahead of us - we are going to need a minimum of 3 wins and 2 draws or 4 wins to get 6th spot,,,,,,,,,,,, it’s just not gonna happen folks !! Just except it 😃🐏

  9. Yes McGoldrick has been fantastic, but for me he’s missed too many games. If he’d played more games m, I’d give it to him, but for me it has to be Wildsmith for  me - came into the club under the radar, a pretty quiet start and lacking confidence, grew in stature and his confidence grew and grew. He’s saved us from defeat so many with stand out saves and he’s been ever present. I’d agree his form has slightly dipped in last 4/5 games, but so has every one ensues too and I don’t think his has dipped as much as other players has.
    Wildsmith for me 😃🐏

  10. It’s got to be either Wildsmith or McGoldrick.
I’m sure a lot of folks will disagree with me here, but I’m giving it to Wildsmith - he was basically written off by Wendies, his confidence must’ve been shot to pieces, came here looking a little shaky to start with but grew as a keeper game on game and I think he’s been a revaluation, consistent and played every game.
McGoldrick has been fantastic and we’re lucky to have such a quality player at this level, but he’s missed quite a few games for us, which is to be expected at his age and injury history. When he has played he’s been fantastic I believe, but Wildsmith shades it for me due to him playing much more.

  11. I agree with the comments stated, but it still doesn’t excuse hitting a dolly ball straight to the keeper does it.
perhaps we should abandon our current corner taking and play a short corner, then a square ball somewhere outside the box and someone just leather it towards goal - at least it’s a shot that could go anywhere, get a deflection or at least test the keeper if on target ?

  12. Are corner delivery is absolutely woeful !!.
Why do nearly all of our corners go straight in to the keepers hands ?.              Saturday what the prime example of this  - is it our game plan and players don’t try attack the ball or get in between the keeper and the ball or is is just crap execution. If it’s the latter, then we need to find someone who can deliver a decent corner. Hourihane’s corners on Saturday were utter pants !!!
