CBT is the worry for me.
He looked very bright v Blackpool and then played his best game so far for us v Portsmouth. Then tonight he regressed.
I really thought tonight would be the night he came to the party. He won’t get a better chance.
He is clearly a confidence player and he is clearly playing within himself much of the time since joining us. Perhaps he is overwhelmed by the pressure to impress. There is certainly a feeling of that.
I am not often critical of Warne and the coaches, but perhaps they could be managing him better, because something is not right.

NML can always make something happen and he has been our best attacking player this season, so in Warne’s eyes, almost definitely.
He is as important to us this year as McGoldrick was last year.

I would normally agree but tonight was especially poor.
Arguably the worst performance of the season given the significance of the game.

There is definitely a feeling that we took four points from Bolton and Portsmouth and thought the hard work was done.
Tonight was summed up by NML getting the ball out on the right and just wearily putting it out of play.
Of course we can still do it. 90-92 points has to be the target. But do we have any gas left in the tank? It’s a big concern.

Just returned home from the honeymoon and this is not the homecoming I was hoping for!
We are playing into Wycombe’s hands and they will punish us if we aren’t careful. They are getting some joy through the middle and in transitions.
However it’s not all doom and gloom. We have looked nervous and erratic, yes, but we have created two really good chances worthy of winning any game, only for NML and CBT to somehow waste them.
A lot of poor touches and unfavourable bounces - is it the pitch I wonder? Perhaps it’s just the two teams lacking composure, but it’s not been much of a spectacle so far!
    Let’s hope it improves!

What you’re saying is you’ll choose to use whatever metrics you want to create and make up to suit your narrative.
I’m sorry but I’m really struggling to understand how any fan can go to such lengths to try and justify why their team shouldn’t win/draw/get a positive outcome from a match.

Trying to remember when / if football was a sport where you always got what you think you deserved , never mind by what metric you choose to decide what is deserved and what isn’t ,
Say you win a match one nil with a wonder goal and your keeper makes 3 fantastic saves , why don’t you deserve to win ?
you play a game where you are happy to let the opposition have the ball more but in non threatening areas , you defend well and let them do bugger all with the ball then attack with purpose when you have the ball and score more goals ,,,, you don’t deserve to win?
frankly for me there is also an enjoyment in seeing a team set up so well that they work as a unit and hardly need to tackle with the opposition keep turning back with nowhere to go ,, let’s be honest we admire defenders with that type of positional and game reading skill, it’s a gift every bit as much as a natural finisher ,
football is a game with many differing skills and tactics 🤷🏻‍♂️

I remember when Phil Gee and Trevor Christie scored against Rotherham. My celebrations were tempered by the sampling variability of that season up to that point so it took the edge off somewhat. Same after Robbie Van Der Laan scored against Palace; it really ruined all the beers afterwards.
Maybe, and this is just me, you need to lighten up and enjoy the ride of a promotion race otherwise perhaps football is not for you.

    Greetings from Antigua everyone!
Couldn’t watch today as I was stranded on the beach. Delicious rum cocktails, but sadly no wifi to stream the game.
It sounds like we gave it a good go and were unlucky not to come away with more. It’s been almost the perfect Easter weekend for us, let’s be honest.
I just hope we have some gas in the tank for Wycombe away. We beat Bolton and basked in the glow for too long and ended up falling flat v Northampton.
Let’s hope we can regain focus quickly because Wycombe and Orient next week will be difficult games to navigate in the circumstances as all the pressure will be on us.
