Q aren’t blocking them. The law means the bids are confidential. EFL can only speak to a bidder if the bidder wants to talk to them - and none of them do.

I see a lot of frustration and conspiracy theory posts going on.

I get the frustration. But to resort to conspiracies and venting isn’t terribly helpful(to you or any of us).

It seems pretty simple to me. And I’ve said it before: this is a crap deal for any buyer. But someone will end up buying.

And that is why we are seeing these shadow games, use of PR teams, and the length of time this is taking.

Whoever buys Derby WILL be paying too much for the asset, because of the financial situation the business is in.  And all the bidders are trying their best to get it for less. That means misinformation, PR teams, and waiting.

For your own health, please stop trying to shoe-horn in some conspiracies and point fingers.

Again, this is a crap Deal for any buyer, and they are trying to make it a better one by employing standard tactics when negotiating deals. And it is 100% on the bidders/buyers to get this done.

A buyer will sign the deal.

I don't see a contradiction, more a setting out of reality.
If we present a plan to continue in administration by borrowing funds until someone buys us, it probably won't meet approval, as it will increase the cost of takeover.
If we cut costs to the absolute bone, spend what we earn and not increase our liabilities, then at least we'll be no less attractive a proposition going forward, so probably would get approval to start the season.

I think he can see a situation where he would be starting his managerial career with one hand tied behind his back.
He saw the difficulty of that last season,  but this would be different. Failure means inevitable sack and his management career ends as fast as it starts.
Hes being very sensible in making sure he gives himself every opportunity to make a successful start.

There's also an added complication that it has been stated that Mel also has given a personal guarantee secured against his personal properties

As I understand it Derby County FC owe MSD ….. but Mel has given PPS as security for that debt. So if DCFC fail - I.e are liquidated or only pay x pence in the pound, MSD then go after Mel for the security he offered
@Ghost of Clough is that right ?

To be fair we haven’t seen the deal the Appleby group is offering or for that matter anyone else .
I think it’s above most peoples  pay grade to understand the complexity of what’s involved.
In the mean time Derby fans and the Club and staff and players are suffering.
We just need to be able to move on.

It's whatever is the best deal for the Creditors - that's Quantuma's legal duty, it always has been. If they're putting any other considerations before that, then they are in breach of those duties.
I think there's justification in some of the criticism of their strategy and performance, but there's a reason there wasn't a queue forming for the appointment (as has been reported by others in the profession) and why there probably wouldn't be a queue to replace Quantuma - it's a hospital pass.
Rather than fighting Quantuma now, Ashley should be concentrating on putting a good enough bid together to make his selection irresistible, and leave the legal stuff to afterwards, if "saving" DCFC is any part of his ambitions.

I think part of the problem is that headline figures for bids don't really give you all the details.  We don't know if that's £40m up front, or intended to be paid over time.  We don't know the exact plan for the stadium.  We don't know if they are including funds they intend to inject into the club to run it after a takeover in there.  We don't know if they intend to borrow any money in addition to, or as part of, that figure. And so on and so on.  It's very difficult to judge anything, or make comparisons between bids, when all we have are a single big number each.

No way would anyone agree to buy a white elephant like that without a guaranteed tenant.  They have only one realistic user.  What you call a strong negotiating position.
I would let MM keep it and hammer him on rent negotiation.

So, according to the companies house document- thanks @G STAR RAM, Gellaw  owes £123.4m to Mel who is listed as an unsecured creditor.
    So the questions are:
Does Gellaw count as part of the club - it's part of the cross-security arrangement for the MSD loans.
If so, doesn’t that give Mel a veto over any deal?

You're missing the point. In fact you're making exactly the same mistake Quantuma did. The cross class cram was entirely legal but that's not the only test. The other test was the EFLs insolvency policy. We needed a solution that both brought us out of administration and allowed us to retain our golden share. The cross class cram solution delivered the former but ignored the latter.
Your point about "claims during insolvency period" is disingenuous because it ignores the fact that "Derby County FC continues to trade via a new limited company, with the old one being liquidated along with the unpaid portion of all debts.". So this would mean that Boro and Wycombe would be permanently denied the opportunity to pursue their claims because the legal entity their claim was against (the old one) would no longer exist. Their claims would have been completely extinguished, not just postponed.
As a Derby fan, I don't personally care about that any more than you do but it should be obvious that the EFL could never have agreed to that. None of the potential bidders were prepared to move forward until Morris resolved the Boro claim. It seems reasonable to assume they were acting on legal advice. Your argument appears to be that the EFL should have ignored similar legal advice and been prepared to take the risk that none of the bidders were prepared to take. It's just not a reasonable expectation.
I'll be honest though. When i first heard that the EFL had blocked Quantuma's proposal in January I did start to think that you might all have been right all along and that the EFL really did have a vendetta against Derby and wanted to see us liquidated. But once I looked at it in detail it became clear that the evidence just doesn't support that conclusion.
Unfortunately it's our club that's been at fault at every stage. First Mel Morris and then Quantuma.
Hopefully better days lie ahead for all of us.

For me there are two important outcomes for DCFC here: the first is the obvious one - just making it through this crisis.  The second is to find a way out of this that means that whoever comes out of this administration owning you isn't just a puppet for the previous regime (i.e. you've at the very least got a clear route to owning your own stadium/training ground, etc.)
I've seen too many clubs either threatened or ruined by shysters masquerading as saviours in recent years; including my own club on a few occasions unfortunately.  Ultimately it's fans like you or me that go through the grief/anguish worrying about whether we'll have a club to support.  At that point it becomes less about who we support; and more about the fact we're supporters of clubs that support our communities.
    Keep fighting and stay proud.

Thank you mate. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. We all need to stand together as a footballing community at times to make sure our clubs aren't taken away from us fans.
I can't imagine Derby with no Derby County or Portsmouth with no Portsmouth Football Club.

And that’s it in a nutshell. I reckon all the bidders know exactly what is required to do any of the following:
    1) Cost A : I own the club with its league status intact, minus 15 and + “x” £ year for stadium leasing
    2) Cost B : I own the club with its status intact and no points deductions + stadium leasing costs.
    3) Cost C : I own the club, status intact. I also own the stadium and can chose between no points deduction or - 15 depending on how much upfront cash I chose to lay out and what length of game I am playing
More than the stadium ( buy, rent, lease meh, owning it would be right and proper but it’s a strange world these days )
it’s the structure of MSD loans and the obligations to HMRC debts that are so opaque and hard to understand from the uninformed observers point of view.

I was just trying to express that points penalties are not (my) most pressing topic in the grand scheme of things.
Saving the club now is paramount, if points penalties are avoided as well......Bonus!
