Completed a miserable match when he teed up Thomas. 12Smith 5 No notable individual errors but part of a defensive malaise that gifted the opposition time & possession. 3Forsyth 3 Far too slow, ponderous and lacking in fight. Misplaced passes and lacked leadership to refocus the team. 6Cashin 6 Maintained a high standard but part of a defensive collective poor show. 17Sibley 4 Lost possession and some poor passing. Roberts 6 Came on mid 2nd half and slotted in. 23White 4 Ineffective in first half & enabled Barnsley to get a grip. 9Collins 5 Late sub but ineffective. 4Hourihane 6 Set up McDick and some attacking threat. 17Springett 6 Stretched his legs. 7Barkhuizen 5 Chshioned header hit the bar but Barks never really got out of 2nd gear. 18Dobbin 4 showed threat but stabbed a simple chance wide. 38Knight 7 His efforts were flooded out by the collective failure. 11Mendez-Laing 8 Posed real threat and ripped his Fb to ribbons thrice but we failed to capitalise. 10McGoldrick. 7 Classy finish but can’t carry the Team. Let’s hope this is a one-off. It takes a great deal of physical and psychological energy to keep the winning mentality alive especially as we hit this part of the season. Too much birthday cake? 6Cashin 6 Performed miracles to prevent a goal from one Wildsmith brainfart, but no chance with the 4th. Too many hopeful punts too. 17Sibley 5 Struggled first half under the high press, better 2nd half. Would like to have seen him pushed forward instead of subbed. Roberts 6 Steady when he came on. 23White 4 Targeted by a Barnsley team given free rein by the Mad 'un, struggled to get on the ball and pass. 9Collins 6 Gave the two big dorks at CB more to think about, but not at his sharpest either. 4Hourihane 5.5 Found a few good deliveries into the box, but too many were floaters that the tw@ in the Barnsley net claimed well tbf 17Springett 6.5 Looked lively and helped to create some danger. 7Barkhuizen 5.5 Being a tad harsh, maybe he should have scored with that header? Given nothing by the ref and consequently struggled. 18Dobbin 5 Made Barnsley nervous but marked down for THAT miss 38Knight 6 On another day, might have had a hat-trick, but wasn't quite at his best, perhaps due to Barnsley's roughhouse tactics. 11Mendez-Laing 7 Gave everything in my eyes. Some great balls into the box that others should have capitalised on. Kicked TF too. 10McGoldrick 6 Took goal well, but contributed to the early pressure with some sloppy passing in our half.
